Just wondering if anybody else with an X had a Droid before and have noticed a big difference in available volume. With my Droid I could hear everything loud and clear but with the X I can barely hear whatever I'm playing at all. Are there any apps that can raise the volume above the factory defaults?

It says to do it under about phone but i cannot find the option to restore to factory defaults anywhere..i'm trying to reset the email accounts.

But I noticed recently that suddenly the volume rocker only controls the Media Volume or the In-call volume (if you're in a call), not the Ringer Volume. I don't have anything playing, so not sure why it's like that. I want it to default to ringer and I'll worry about Media when I'm actually in a program that uses it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI received the latest update a couple of days ago. I am like many on the forum that was having issues and growing very tired of this phone.
Issues I was having:
1- Blank display during a call. I have been having the issue of the phone display going blank during a call. The way it's designed to work is that when you place the phone next to your ear the display turns off to 1- save battery and 2- reduce heat. Mine was staying off which made it impossible to traverse a voice response system.
2- Lag during dialing.
3- Time without a signal. ** Retracted - This issue still exists. After rebooting multiple times the issue is back.
Fix - Reset to factory defaults. So far so good. Best the phone has been since updating from 1.5.

Any recommendations as to what to do not to do, download not to download, or things to do first before reloading all my applications without getting back to a sluggish phone? Of course the best thing that could happen is to get 3.0 or whatever... Nah, that ain't gonna happen... The next best thing is to upgrade my phone...but... that aint gonna happen for me either for at least another 6 months...

I Rooted and installed Busybox Installer. Well After that my Tablet Rested it self and now it going to factory Defaults each time I turn it on.
-Whenever the Tab restarts it just looses all settings and starts like it is started for the first time, with all those first time tips and default settings. Even all apps are gone.
-All Apps suddenly vanished (Were installed in internal memmory, no sdcard used)
-If we try to install the app again using google Play, then google play hangs, does not install the app.
- If we go into settings->storage, the first internal storage shows 0.00Bytes
I tried to do: Factory Reset the device, Hard Reset the device, Restart insanely several times
I do have ADD installed but I don't know how to switch busybox over from /system/xbin and find busybox. Move it to /system/bin I can't Install Apps
Will the official 2.1 OTA update include the raise in core clock? Or is this exclusive to the custom 2.1 roms (birdman etc.)

I didn't back them up either (I know I'm an idiot) well now I need somethings back, like voice recorder. But I can't seem to figure out how to do that. I can format the phone clear all the stuff but nothing brings it back. How do I restore this thing to factory defaults with everything installed????? I'm also getting tons of error messages now too...

I was having trouble updating my " my verizon " app today and kept getting the message installation error package was not signed correctly. i read to delete the app and reinstall, but after i found out that the ota update coming out tomorrow supposed to fix this but i already went in the sys file with astro and deleted the verizon apk and astro said it was successful. is this possible to delete factory apps with astro did i screw my phone up

View 3 Replies View RelatedThis is a different problem than the several threads that talk about low volume from the speaker. My normal speaker volume is adequate, except perhaps in a very noisy environment. But this is what is happening: At some point speaker volume will be normal and then later in the day I use an app that has sound, like YouTube or Google Maps navigation. The sound from the speaker is so low that I have to hold the speaker up to my ear to hear it, even in a very quiet room. Much lower volume than it usually is. I push the up volume rocker and it shows that Media Volume is already at the max. It is as if something muted the speaker, but not quite fully muted it because I could hear it by holding it to my ear.
The first time it happened, I had opened the YouTube app and played a video. The speaker volume was so low I had to hold the speaker to my ear. I plugged in some headphones to check whether the volume was normal there. It was. When I removed the headphones from the jack, the speaker volume returned back to normal................
I have a stumper, or not. Also, not really sure where to post this, so I'm throwing it in here. I recently started using google voice (today), and I want to use the app smspopup so I can view my sms messages without opening up the google voice app. Even though smspopup is supposed to work with google voice, it is not. I checked out the smspopup FAQ's, and it said to clear the defaults for the android messaging apps in the manage applications menu. I searched for it but it wasn't there, so I can't clear any defaults.
View 2 Replies View Relatedever since 2.1 I have noticed all outgoing calls turn on speakerphone by default - and in coming also trigger speakerphone. PITA to place calls, or get them, and always have to turn off speakerphone button. Anyone know why or how to stop it? I cannot say for sure it is 2.1 issue but that is newest change I recall.

I have a folder on my SD card .. audio > ringtones and they are all put into the folder, i was just curious if there was any other means of separation?
How i clear the defaults for apps that don't show up in settings>applications>manage applications? i have the regular and 3d galleries installled, and when i opened the stock gallery, it asked me to choose between gallery gallery and gallery camera when veiwing. i selected gallery gallery and set to default but now when i open a folder, it always opens the 3d gallery folder. i'd like to change this.

Are they slowing my phone down? (Stuff like Footprints, Youtube, Also, what is the cheapest way to upgrade to a better phone? Using those instructions, I was able to get allocation stack traces. Unfortunately the stack traces only go 8 deep (at least when running against the simulator), and that's too little for me to know where in my code the allocations really originate. How can I raise the limit from 8 to something higher?

The processing of the background thread takes a while and I want to notify the user when it's completed via an AlertDialog. However, the user might have changed to Activity_2 or Activity_3 in the meantime and I would like to pop up the AlertDialog always in the current Activity.

What is the best way to set an long-term alert/reminder from an Android application? I'd like to display notification in a few weeks after current date. I believe there is no need to write a service for such task. Will AlarmManager do the trick? Or should application be started daily and performing check? After countdown was started, upcoming alert should survive upgrading application from Android Market.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just switched over to handcent as my messaging app. I changed the defaults and switched off the notifications function on original app. Here's my question... just switching off the notifications from old app, messages still come thru to old app...does that take up some form of memory? If so, how do I turn off un-wanted app so messages do not go to it anymore? Any hints, info or thoughts on this matter is greatly appreciated.
