HTC Droid Eris :: Home Screen / Cursor Moves Left While Charging

I have been reading a lot on this issue since my 3 week old Eris has started moving the home screens and cursors to the far left but only when charging. Is there a fix to this I can do myself? I know if I go to Verizon (corp store) they will offer to replace it with a FRU model (refurb) and I will not have that since this phone is brand new. Since being a Verizon customer for 4 years I have had FRU replacements all resulting in a replacement phone that has even more issue's than the one it replaced which then resulted in a multi model FRU to a new phone (Samsung Gleam (2 replacements) to a new Env2 (3 Env's) then to an new LG voyager that lasted 2 years.What worries me is that Verizon has dropped the Eris and if I cant get a new Eris replacement I know they are going to throw the cinder block sized Moto Droid at me.

I had been hearing that it may have been because of Handcent SMS but I removed it and it still moves slow. Text messaging, moving to home screen, etc. Things just move very slow. How can I fix this?

So through a weird assortment of events i managed to crack the screen on my Eris. But this is the trippy part, I didnt break the glass but the touch sensors underneath. So now i am unable to use the menu or home buttons and the entire left part of my screen and more. I am unable to unlock my device in anyway that i know(menu button, the slider). Is there any other way to unlock it? I now have 11 unread texts and 4 voicemails that I desperately want to view. Oh and I know some of you won't be happy about what I'm about to say but.... I took the leap to the moto droid. I had the chance to get it on a 1 year because I didnt get insurance and I went for it. I will really miss my Eris but the keyboard lag was just killing me.

When I press the unlock button, and then flick down on the unlock screen, my phone sometime just moves from the main screen over 1 or 2 screens to the left. Not everytime, but randomly it just started happening. Is it an app? A setting?

When my phone is plugged in my cursor jumps to the left making it impossible to type or access applications that are not on the menu screen all the way to the left. It also navigates itself away from web pages and I think the constant left motion of the cursor makes the phone run slowly. I cant look at maps either.

Ex: If I click phone and attempt to dial/search for a number, it just scrolls down by itself.

when i go to the home page the ball always pulls to the left and wont let me move any other way besides left. its giveing me alot of problems txting and just moveing around my phone.

Has anyone else been experiencing this. Sometimes when I click on the Home Screen button, it doesn't always go to the home screen, it might go to the screen to the right or left of it.
also sometimes when I lock the phone and then when I unlock it, it doesn't always go to the home screen. it might jump around.
Sometimes when I hit the home screen or down error right above it, the desk clock appears.
this is all very strange, just wondering what all of your thoughts are. Could it be a particular app that I downloaded.

I'm having a problem with my Driod Eris. It's moving on its own, if I unlock the screen it starts to move to the left and stays there. I try to scroll over it moves back I press the home button and it does the same thing. I've tried powering down taking the battery put nothing seem to work.

Im new to HTC. I am actually very satesfide with my eris. Except for just recently. My eris for some reason changes pages and slides on its own when im not touching it. and when i hold the phone its gets worse. How can i fix this? Another thing. When im typing sometimes the thing that says were the letters go moves and my words look all messed up. Example: im typing the word mississippi.. and halfway Threw the word it moves making it look like this --> sippimissis.. i dont eventouch that part of the screen.. one last thing.. when im ussing the internet on. my eris sometimes the phone clicks things randomly. It presses random buttons by its self :/ seems to me theres a senor/ touch problem. How can i fix all this?

I just bought a vibrant one week ago. I found no serious problem on mine, but it really gets hot.......while charging. One more problem i have is that it keeps turning back to home screen by itself, when i use app or internet......

This is driving me crazy. The phone is pretty much useless when this starts happening. I will be on the Main home screen and then it will start jumping Home screens as if I'm swiping to the left but I'm NOT swiping! Once it is on the last screen to the left it won't let me switch back to HOME. I can almost never do anything when this happens. I haven't dropped the phone. I've reset the G-Sensor. Has anyone experianced this? I've even done a Wipe of the device.

I just installed lock 2.0 and i was just adjusting the settings and now every time I'm in my phone and i touch the "Home" button it locks my phone instead of taking me back to my home screen! Is this normal? Did I accidental do it in the settings? HELP its driving me crazy
I'm on the new 2.1 leak if that matters

I don't know if I'm missing something in the settings or what, but every time I shake my Eris while running an app the screen automatically goes back th the home screen. This gets really annoying when using apps that require such actions. Anyone else having this issue or know what I'm doing wrong. Maybe an app that's causing it.

I have done a little bit or searching for this but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. So if it is out there then I am sorry for the repetitive post.I just updated to 2.1, and can't figure out how to switch to the Home instead of HTC Sense Home? Anyone out there know how to do this? Before on 1.5 OS, all I had to do was hold down the "Home" button to display my most recent 6 apps, then hit the button again to pick if I wanted "Home" or "HTC Sense".Now, that does not work.

I've been playing around with some of the other Home alternatives. So far, I found good things and bad things about each one of them. Right now, I'm trying out Helix launcher. I like the fact that I can add any shortcut to the bottom row next to the launcher. Open Home seems to have the most skins available. I like the clean look of the generic Android Home, but 3 screens is a little lacking.

i saw on some of the user interfaces that you can list your notes on a home screen. how to do that?. if i long press on a home screen it brings up note everything but not a list of all my items. i wanted to be able to see my list of things to do on the home screen. if this is not the right app to do that

I'm trying to go through these threads and nothing is making sense. I was a long time bb user and they seemed so much easier than this phone. Problem #1: When I hit the home button it used to ask if I wanted to go to the home screen or the HTC sense now it doesn't ask, how do I get it to ask again? Problem #2: Which is better to use the home screen or HTC sense? Why? Problem #3: I see that there is a new upgrade but when I go to the system upgrade it tells me my system is up to date? It currently reads V 1.5. I just wish I had a manual that I can just sit down and read and a tutorial to show me all the advantages of this phone over my bb.

I use HTC Sense on my phone, the problem I have is my phone is not saving my default home settings. When I push the home button it asks me which program I want to use to complete the action (either andriod Home or HTC Sense), I always click the box indicating I want to use this option as default every time I push home but 10 minutes later when I push the home button again it asks me again which program I want to use. I have double checked in my settings and it shows HTC Sense is set as my default home setting but something just isnt right.
