HTC Droid Eris :: Default Home Screen Settings Not Saved

I use HTC Sense on my phone, the problem I have is my phone is not saving my default home settings. When I push the home button it asks me which program I want to use to complete the action (either andriod Home or HTC Sense), I always click the box indicating I want to use this option as default every time I push home but 10 minutes later when I push the home button again it asks me again which program I want to use. I have double checked in my settings and it shows HTC Sense is set as my default home setting but something just isnt right.

"I am busy right now. I will call you later." This seems like a feature that I had with my BB. If you miss a call or reject a call, you could send this text message to the caller automatically.
My question is, how do you do this on the Eris? I can't figure it out. Has anyone used this feature?

When I first Bought My Droid X. I installed GDE which I Love and also Lockbot Pro which I also enjoy the Versatility of. During my 2nd day of use my screen went blank and no matter what I did the factory screen would not return, so I did a Hard reset back to factory settings. Now my problem is, that my original factory home Screen is no Longer Available through the home Button even if I uninstall Lockbot pro and/or GDE.
AND when I press the home Button it always asks me If I want to go to GDE or Lockbot (but as everyone knows, U never pick the lock screen). Should I just give up the Apps I like. I have the desire to got back to the factory home screen. That's why I ask, I can't without doing a Hard reset everytime. By the way, My 1st Droid (with The hard keyboard) always gives me the option of GDE, Home, or Lockbot When I press the home Button.

Does anyone have any ideas on when the update comes if it is going to reset our home screens and settings and all that good stuff. I came from the blackberry world where any major os upgrade meant you needed to back up your phone first before doing the update otherwise all of you stuff was gone when you were done.

I have a home screen replacement app. It is set via the GUI to always be used as the home screen. How can I get that activity to start the original home screen on demand? Is there a published activity name for it? I want my replacement home screen to remain the default.

Does anyone have an issue with their Media Volume being set to 0 and when you adjust it, either when in an app (YouTube, mp3 player, RingDroid) or via Settings>Sound>Volume, it still won't adjust? I can't set the volume for Media no matter how I try. It visibly shows that I raised it in Settings, but then I back out and go back in to check, it's 0 again.
When I am in RingDroid, for example, I hit the volume button, the pop up for Media Volume shows at 0, and won't let me raise it with the volume buttons same for YouTube, etc. I know previously, I've reset the phone to fix it, but this is ridiculous. I don't know what's causing it other than possibly putting my phone on vibrate while at work, but that shouldn't affect the Media Volume, just Ringer and Alerts. And before anyone suggests it, I took the phone Off vibrate mode and still get the same result.

Looked around a bit and I can't seem to find any other posts about it but sometimes when i go to unlock my phone its at the default lock screen instead of my lock 2.0 screen. Anyone else have issues with that? If so how do i fix it?

This is driving me crazy. The phone is pretty much useless when this starts happening. I will be on the Main home screen and then it will start jumping Home screens as if I'm swiping to the left but I'm NOT swiping! Once it is on the last screen to the left it won't let me switch back to HOME. I can almost never do anything when this happens. I haven't dropped the phone. I've reset the G-Sensor. Has anyone experianced this? I've even done a Wipe of the device.

I just installed lock 2.0 and i was just adjusting the settings and now every time I'm in my phone and i touch the "Home" button it locks my phone instead of taking me back to my home screen! Is this normal? Did I accidental do it in the settings? HELP its driving me crazy

So through a weird assortment of events i managed to crack the screen on my Eris. But this is the trippy part, I didnt break the glass but the touch sensors underneath. So now i am unable to use the menu or home buttons and the entire left part of my screen and more. I am unable to unlock my device in anyway that i know(menu button, the slider). Is there any other way to unlock it? I now have 11 unread texts and 4 voicemails that I desperately want to view. Oh and I know some of you won't be happy about what I'm about to say but.... I took the leap to the moto droid. I had the chance to get it on a 1 year because I didnt get insurance and I went for it. I will really miss my Eris but the keyboard lag was just killing me.

I don't know if I'm missing something in the settings or what, but every time I shake my Eris while running an app the screen automatically goes back th the home screen. This gets really annoying when using apps that require such actions. Anyone else having this issue or know what I'm doing wrong. Maybe an app that's causing it.

So i was doing a little searching and i came across this Download: 2.1 Clock App from Nexus One | Droid Life: A Motorola Droid Blog.So when you open the app and press the end button it becomes your lock screen but when you don't open the app you get the oringal HTC Sense lock screen. So i was wondering how you can make this your default lock screen

I need to do aa Factory Reset of one of my rooted android devices. I have the Home Screen pages set up just the way I want them to be and am trying to avoid having to reconstruct them once the Factory Reset has been done. I'm assuming that all of theat data (wallpaper, layout, app widgets page and position location is stored somewhere.
So, where do I find it so that I can make a copy of it and then restore it once I've rooted the phone again.

I just recently downloaded the handcent SMS and when I go into settings then custom style it will stay in it for a few seconds then I get a black screen and then it goes back to settings. I can't customize anything, and it does the same when i'm reading my messagse.

I absolutely hate the sense lock screen. The downward swipe unlocks way to easily. If I don't have a pattern lock enabled my pocket sends all kind of crazy messages and phone calls. I dislike the pattern lock because I basically have to unlock my phone twice every time I want to use it. Is there a way to load the default android lock screen as it appears on the Driod or Nexus 1? The sideways swipe seems much more secure to me. I have tried other apps like lock 2.0 but then you lose the slide to answer and my pocket answers for me before I know I have a call.

I have done a little bit or searching for this but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. So if it is out there then I am sorry for the repetitive post.I just updated to 2.1, and can't figure out how to switch to the Home instead of HTC Sense Home? Anyone out there know how to do this? Before on 1.5 OS, all I had to do was hold down the "Home" button to display my most recent 6 apps, then hit the button again to pick if I wanted "Home" or "HTC Sense".Now, that does not work.

I've been playing around with some of the other Home alternatives. So far, I found good things and bad things about each one of them. Right now, I'm trying out Helix launcher. I like the fact that I can add any shortcut to the bottom row next to the launcher. Open Home seems to have the most skins available. I like the clean look of the generic Android Home, but 3 screens is a little lacking.

does anyone know where the setting is to change your exchange password / pin that is required by IT teams at most large corporations? I've been in to Email > Account Settings, and also to the general Home > Settings and can't find it anywhere.I set it up the first time I set up the account on the phone, but can't find anywhere to change it or to change the duration in which the pin should be input (every thirty-minutes, hour, etc.).

i saw on some of the user interfaces that you can list your notes on a home screen. how to do that?. if i long press on a home screen it brings up note everything but not a list of all my items. i wanted to be able to see my list of things to do on the home screen. if this is not the right app to do that

I'm trying to go through these threads and nothing is making sense. I was a long time bb user and they seemed so much easier than this phone. Problem #1: When I hit the home button it used to ask if I wanted to go to the home screen or the HTC sense now it doesn't ask, how do I get it to ask again? Problem #2: Which is better to use the home screen or HTC sense? Why? Problem #3: I see that there is a new upgrade but when I go to the system upgrade it tells me my system is up to date? It currently reads V 1.5. I just wish I had a manual that I can just sit down and read and a tutorial to show me all the advantages of this phone over my bb.
