I Can't figure this out for the life of me. Why is t that I only have a few names at best that show up when I get a Message/call? I can't seem to find the pattern, any idea on how to fix this?

After having installed to try Handsent and Chomp, can anyone tell why I only have the phone numbers and not names of my contacts with their Text messages unlike the Stock App which displays the names?

But in a result I get only Contact names without visible numbers. To make things worse, if one contact has two numbers it occurs twice.

So i want to retrieve phone number from my contact list and then i should be able to send message to that particular number Any hints how can i go further.

I`am using Call Control now. This app can block non-numerical numbers. But no whitelist support.
Answer: information from cellular providers and from banks comes from such numbers. But they trapped in spam and you have always to look blocked log.
After linking all my contacts between previous phone, Google and facebook i go to the linked section of a contact and choose which display name I want to use then hit save. Eventually the phone switches the name back to whatever it feels like. Is anybody else experiencing this issue?

Is the initial synch between Gmail contacts and Facebook using e-mail addresses or contact names? In other words, if I'm using only first names for some contacts will it find their Facebook profiles or will I have to change the contact names to full names? My Incredible is arriving today (can't wait) and just want to know if I need to update my contacts.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter playing with my Incredible for many many many hours, just found a really sweet trick.In the favorites widget i have people with multiple numbers(cell, phone), and when you click on that person it calls the primary number, but last night i found that if you click the actual name of the contact(right under the actual pic) a detail properties pop up for that contact and from there you can callsmsemail the person via other numbers.now back to looking for more cool things

View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter one of the recent handcent updates, I entered a number to send a text message. This number was not in my contacts. I entered the number, and it changed the number at the top to a persons name, who isn't in my contacts, and does not have the same number. They are my friend on facebook however. Is handcent linking with facebook? How do I turn this off? It's telling me this conversation is with the wrong person as of now, and I don't know if it's even sending to the right number.

I notice that when I try to compose an sms message, the contact search list contains ALL of my contacts (phone + Google). This is super annoying, as I literally have thousands of Google contacts and some people have numerous accounts, so it's incredibly difficult to sort through and is honestly the first thing I have seen the phone start to choke on. The 'People' widget has a 'View' setting that allows me to limit by just phone contacts, but I can't seem to find any sort of filter in the search when I'm composing a message. I can type each name individually and select, but having a big list would be nice. Again, I'd like to be able to select message recipients from a list containing only phone contacts.

So if they have a work, home and mobile it also gives me the ability to send messages to all 3 of those numbers, why? If I send a text I only want it going to their mobile....is everyones contacts set up like this?

This doesn't happen to songs in English, but in Korean (Not all songs though). I tried renaming, changing song info. My best guess is the locale/text setting.
Got my phone today and am a bit disappointed if i'm honest.First thing, there seems to be a huge lag in the email, is this normal? Am using gmail and i get the email through straight away on the PC but about 15-30 mins later on my phone. Am used to instant email on the blackberry.
Also, i wonder if i'm doing something wrong in contacts. Have set up all my numbers and set the names to be displayed but when they come through some show the email address instead of the name? Can i get round this?
Just bought a Samsung Vibrant and while everyone I have emailed in the past four years shows up in my contacts none of names/numbers I put into my G1 are. Used the same SIM card- traded it from the G1 to the Vibrant. Any tips?

View 2 Replies View RelatedSince updating to 2.2 recently, my phone interface when calling has gotten worse. It has the add call, hold, mute and speaker buttons on top of the number, so I cannot see who is calling. It also overlaps the bottom part.
That is not that bad, it is more preferance. The real problem is that I can not bring up numbers while in the middle of a call. This makes calling automated numbers, or more importantly, my voicemail.
Has anyone else come across this? If so, how did you deal with it? Is there a button I am missing? Or a new phone interface I can download?
i am a youth sports coach and i need to be able to setup a direct message shortcut to my contact group. Has anyone been able to do this? i can setup indivdual short cuts but not a shortcut for a contact group. Am i doing something wrong? Also, is there a way to change the label on the direct message shortcut?

The other 2 just bring up the contact info and I have to select the phone number to call them. I have the primary set OK on one, but I still just get the contact info rather than dialing the number automtically. The other I have the wrong number set as primary but I don't know how to change the primary from cell to home.

Could someone kindly tell me what I have to do to get the names up please. I have been looking through the settings but cant see anything, do I need to make sure the stock messaging app is unticked first to get the names to appear?
Here is what I noticed; try to make a shortcut for your contacts. In my contacts list, all is fine, it shows picture of contact, the right one. But after creating shortcut, picture shows either "no picture".
View 2 Replies View RelatedAnyways, on every other phone I've ever had, text messaging had a regular group of folders such as Inbox, Sent, Deleted, Outbox, etc. I do not see this on my Eris. I can see the new ones of course but not sure where my sent items are (if anywhere?) and where my deleted items go (permanently deleted?). I've had a couple of texts deleted that I needed later on but couldn't find so it's irritating enough to start searching for answers!
