Jan 2, 2010I finally got my fone fixed and i deleted diner dash2 and telenav and amazonmp3 immediatly after i rooted the behold 2 , but now i would like to know how to run apps from my sd card ? i figured out how to get them there but. Now what? i cant install terminal emulator either. i want to do it this way so i do not use up the space on the fone.For some reason i think it will start going slow again if i dont. any advice on what your setups are? what have you safely removed? is it ok to remove MyFavs? how about the cube? is there anything todo to speed it up a lil? or make it so it doesnt slow down at all?

May 13, 2010I am getting a Desire next week. How many apps you can install on the internal memory without 'rooting' it? I'll probably install a lot of apps when I get mine next wednesday (I already have made a list of over 30!) and I would really like to avoid rooting it as it will probably void the warranty and I am not sure I could do it anyway - even after reading the step by step guide a few times over. How many apps have you all managed to fit in before getting the memory low message that some have reported?

Jul 25, 2010I have just used the instructions on this forum to first root my phone, and then install New 2.2 on to my desire. What a improvement in performance and Shockwave flash works. But I can't install on to my SD Card at all. If I download a app from the market (or my pc) which is set to install on extrenal storage (SD Card), it downloads and the installation fails. I also can't use APP 2 SD as when I try and copy to memory it fails. so if I then unmount my SD Card, and install the same app, it installs and works fine. So do I need to do something to my SD Card?

Sep 24, 2010I have some 80MB left on the phones memory, I have downloaded a lot of apps, tried them and deleted most of them (but far from all). There are still a lot of apps I would like to DL and try out, but before doing that I would like to move as much as possible to the SD card, it says I have 3.67 GB available, so plenty of room. However When I go to Applications--> Manage Applications the ption to move them to the SD card is grayed out and the option is not available to me. What do I need to do to turn it on?

I tried to open run command on my pc with phone connected and typed pm setInstallLocation 0.....but all that comes up is command is not recognized.

So while I have them on my homescreen and I reboot my phone they will not show up anymore. Apr 6, 2010So I've tried and tried again using RA and other linux based programs (GParted) to get my 8GB card to partition for apps2sd. Everything always runs smoothly and shows that the card is partitioned correctly. But then upon reboot the SD card shows full fat32 memory (6.9 GB). No matter what I do, after reboot, the partitions never happen. When I used GParted, and then loaded the SD card on the phone it always says that the SD card is damaged and I need to reformat. I've done that and rerun everything to no avail. Someone please tell me this issue is that the SD card is corrupted and I should give up. Because I've followed everything to a T as far as partitioning. With that I'll say that I had no problems rooting my phone, flashing ROM's/RA's, etc, and have been able to do whatever I want as far as new things to load. I've finally decided after all this time to do apps2sd, and I literally screwed around for 5+ hrs today, trying to partition the SD card properly. Any thoughts?

Oct 15, 2010I have a Droid X running 2.2. I'm trying to understand the advantages of storing apps on the SD Card vs Phone storage. Since the Droid X comes with 8GB of phone storage, I've got lots of room there.What would be some reasoning behind moving apps to the SD card? I see lots of people get excited when a favorite app adds SD card support, but why exactly? Maybe it's more of an advantage for phones with less phone storage? Also, how come in manage applications, it says that the app takes up way less space when it's on the SD Card? For example, I just installed Angry Birds and it put itself on the SD Card when it installed. It showed 1.83MB in size. When I moved it to the SD Card, it showed 14.06MB.
