i was wondering what apps are safe to move and which ones just wont move. I know system apps and those that use widgets are a no no. But what about Google maps,facebook, gmail, astro and Adobe flash player (12.4) mb?
Maybe we could have a list of what not to move here?

View 8 Replies View RelatedWhat's the deal with this? It appears that only some apps can be moved to the SD card. I have been using ApptoSD which works fine but only works on a few apps. Why won't it work with everything? I keep running out of space on my phones memory and would love to move the bulk of my apps to the SD card.

My phone got a little wet, but still works for the most part and I want to factory reset it without losing my apps/music/contacts/pictures etc. Is there a way to move all of this stuff to the SD card using and explorer straight from the phone without using a computer? I am out of options.

View 2 Replies View RelatedFacebook is a huge application, as such I've had it installed in /system for a while now, however last night I decided I would upgrade to Facebook 2.0, when moving it to system the app force closes upon start.
I've tried totally uninstalling/reinstalling it, clearing data/cache/dalvik to no avail, any pointers? or is this simply how it is now?

before upgrading to 2.2 i backed up lots apps games using astro and app manager to my sdcard. now i have updated i reinstalled them using the same apps. thing is i cant move them to sdcard? google earth etc

I know you long press the app you want to move, and select the choice to move it. is TiBu shows the notification of it being moved. I then go back into setting, look at the apps on SD card, and they do not show up. I am running NexBeast FRF57 V0.1.1. My Titanium Backup is at version 3.2.4, I can reboot, still doesnt work. Superuser shows Titanium has permissions, so I am not sure what the deal is.

View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently I just did the force apps to SD on my desire (froyo). However, I realize that after the force apps to SD, my desire speed slow down and lags. For example it take a few secs to open an apps while previously it was rather quick. And also, the handcent SMS take rather long to open.
View 6 Replies View RelatedAnyway I used the ''force apps to sd'' thingy, where you change the install location by connecting your phone to your PC and use commandprompt. You know: Lorin Bute - Home - How to force apps to move to the SD card onFroyo. Everything worked great until recently when the phone became unable to install many apps when microsd was chosen as the install location and some apps still wont install even with the setting set back to default. I can still force already installed apps to move to sd. One other odd thing is that I tried to install a GPS app and the installation failed (with the default install location). Then I quit almost all running processes using the built in process manager and then the install worked. After a reboot I tried to replicate my actions but no matter what I did I could no longer install the same app. My phone's inability to install some apps appears to be completely random. What's worse is that I installed froyo around the same time so maybe it has a part to play in my problem.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have some 80MB left on the phones memory, I have downloaded a lot of apps, tried them and deleted most of them (but far from all). There are still a lot of apps I would like to DL and try out, but before doing that I would like to move as much as possible to the SD card, it says I have 3.67 GB available, so plenty of room. However When I go to Applications--> Manage Applications the ption to move them to the SD card is grayed out and the option is not available to me. What do I need to do to turn it on?

I realise there are a few threads about this, but I thought I would make a new one for my easier guide, and hopefully people will find it more easily as they won't have to scroll through pages of other threads to find an answer. I am now successfully running most apps from my SD Card now. I just thought I would make an easier guide as the others are fairly complex for noobs like me............
Just followed instructions on how to move apps to sd card on an unrooted device....all worked well, moved what i wanted to, but would now like to put phone back to default settings to install apps to phone memory.
I tried to open run command on my pc with phone connected and typed pm setInstallLocation 0.....but all that comes up is command is not recognized.
So I've downloaded the Tajm and Battstatt which are widgets and for some reason they're downloading directly to my sdcard. So while I have them on my homescreen and I reboot my phone they will not show up anymore. So I decide to move them to my phone memory and when I do they no longer show up on the widgets list anymore.

But I notice everytime I drag and add an app inside the folder there is no way (at least that I can find) to move them around in the order I would like them to be in. Theres no way to drag them around and organize them without taking them out completely then re adding them in order. Am I doing something wrong? Is this possible? If not with stock folders is there an app that lets me do this?
