HTC Desire : Send Hotmail Outbox Email Coming Back In Inbox
Sep 15, 2010Maybe that will sound weird and silly but when I try to send an email to someone, I cant send it, sometimes email is coming back on my inbox! It looks like i am sending emails to myself. I checked my settings and everything is fine. Anyone can help?

General :: Maildroid - Inbox Not Displaying Any Email But Combined Inbox Does?
Feb 28, 2013I've been using Maildroid for about 6 months with no issues. However, the past couple of days, I have one email account that says there are new emails to display, but when I click on it, nothing appears in the Inbox. However, if I go to the Combined inbox, they are there. This email was working before a few days ago! I even deleted the email account and re-created it. Still no email displaying in the Inbox. I do receive a message saying something about server messages and Inbox not available, but I've looked everywhere to find any information on this (even googled it and checked the forums with no luck).

HTC Desire :: Cannot Get Any Hotmail Emails Into The Inbox
Aug 23, 2010He's set up his gmail and work mail on the phone just fine, but his hotmail is playing silly buggers. The gmail is through that app, the work and hotmail through the desire mail app.
Anyway - he cannot get any hotmail emails into the inbox. When you first set up the account, he gets two 'welcome' mails - the kind you get when you set up the mail account online, welcoming you to your inbox. No other emails ever come through.
However - he can send from it. And it appears in his outbox online.
I looked in the syncing sections and under the exchange active sync - which works for his work - there is no hotmail. Except somehow it must sync somehow as it's sending his hotmail fine...

Sep 1, 2010I'm running into some issues with the HTC Mail client and I'm about ready to throw fits.I've configured my work IMAP email account, but it's not pulling any emails down to the inbox.I get the 'No mail' message when there is most definitely mail there.I can send from the account just fine, and the sent items feed back to the server w/out any problems.I've tried deleting the account and reconfiguring same result.Any way to start from a clean slate in the HTC Mail client w/out wiping the entire unit? I have configured another user's phone (same exact phone) on the same email system and theirs worked as expected adding to the frustration!

Jun 29, 2010I have finally set up my email to the HTC's message POP3. It's all set up fine, I can send emails from it (have tested this too) - the only, somewhat major problem!, is that it says my inbox has 'No Mail' regardless of how many times I refresh the page. It's showing my mail in the sent folder ok but have never been able to retrieve my mail from my inbox for some bizarre reason.

When I click on the mailbox it seems to open a whole new page in white, same emails though. Also, when I receive an email I get TWO notifications and effectively have to click on both and open the email twice to delete it. It seems the gmail inbox is duplicated?

Apr 24, 2010When I try to do this to a group with more than 6 people, it converts the message to a mms and wants to use there email and wont add any more than 10 contacts.This way is messed up, I have made several groups of 7 different sets of contacts, They all change to MMS Message when selecting any of those groups.I can send a group message by doing the below actions without any problem for some reason though, Which TBH is just more hasse.

Apr 26, 2010I recently purchased a HTC Desire Android phone and I'm looking for a way to keep a simple, basic contact list updated and synched with my Gmail account. The problem with the default way on my phone is that it will sync every contact on my Gmail. This is a problem as I only want to have contacts from my phone book synched to one gmail group and vice versa. There is an option to "disply only contacts with numbers" but I still don't like the idea of having every contact on the phone. There is also the problem of the extra empty groups I won't be using, can these be gotten rid of?
I basically just want one list and it to be my default list with all contacts and not have to go through an array of menus to get to that one list on the phone. I don't want that list to be populated by contacts who I may have only emailed once and will never email again. I don't want any gimmicks in between, no gtalk contacts, no facebook contacts, no default gmail contacts and I want to be able to then export this group to a CSV file to use with spreadsheets etc.
This seems to be possible on Android stock and even on HTC Hero Sense UI according to here: Tidy up your Contact List with a Custom Sync Group | Androidheadlines.com
but in the Desire Sense UI, when you go to people/groups/menu, it only gives the option to delete or add. Seems this guy is having the same issue, he has the sync group option but his friend doesn't, both using the same phone. No "Sync Groups" option
There are reports from this thread that some users have had this same problem. Some have a "Sync Groups" option when they go to People>Group Tab and click menu, most don't have this option however and I'm yet to hear from a desire user with this option. Also from this thread (Just want to sync 'My Contacts' on Android, not everything! - Google Mobile Help) one user reported that a "hard reset" gave him the "Sync Group" option. I tried this but had no luck, still the same menu as before.
HTC Desire :: Adding Two Different Numbers From Same Contact In Group?
Jul 15, 2010Today I set up a group on my desire so that I can send a group text or email to the parents of the kids football team that I help to run. It seem that it uses the primary number that's selected in the persons contact info. Some parents have given me both their mobile numbers and sometimes two email addresses so I want to include them all in the same group. Does anyone know how I can do this? On my previous blackberry curve 8900 I could select multiple numbers/email addresses from the same contact to go into the group.

Jun 15, 2010I'm using Handcent, but I get the same thing if I use the inbuilt messages app. Basically I select a group to send an SMS to and when I send the message it comes back that the multiple messages haven't been sent, but they actually have. First time it happened I kept trying to re-send, got the delivery error every time, despite all 5 lots of messages being sent - I spammed a load of friends! Oddly sometimes it works fine and Handcent does the correct sending of each msg one after another.

Jul 8, 2010I have come across a compelling problem with my Orange bill since getting my Desire. I set up a group in contacts and a number of times have attempted to send a group text. There are about 8 people in that group but when I pressed send I would get message pending.
Some members of the group would not receive anything whilst others would get a text hours later.
I tried a couple of more times last month then gave up.
This week my bill came with a 10 charge for photo messages, as if I would use this crap way of sending pics when I have access to email. All the group messages were charged at 25p per person.
To give Orange their due, they will reimburse me the money on goodwill but I certainly won't be trying the group thing again.

I can receive emails to the phone with no problems; the setup was simple and the messages sync'd to the phone quickly. I can't send, reply, or forward messages. The messages stay in the outbox. The replies I seem to find on this topic online seem to be related to IMAP/POP accounts, and this is neither.

I also notice that I will read all of my emails and then the "unread" number still shows, i.e. 4 - and I will wait a while, and log onto gmail.com on my notebook and the ones that I just read are sitting in there unread or undeleted. Sep 12, 2012For years now (and on many different phones and Android OS versions), I've run into a reoccurring issue in the Gmail app: now and again, a batch of messages I've told the app to send will get stuck in the Outbox as "Sending" and won't ever send, even after I've rebooted the phone, cleared the cache, insured the phone is online, etc... This only seems to happen when there's some sort of an internet connection issue, but I haven't been able to figure out if it's associated with one particular thing: airplane mode, being out of connection range, having auto-sync or background data turned off, etc... If it was caused by being in one particular state, I'd just avoid sending email while in that state.
