HTC Desire :: Group SMS - Delivery Error Despite Sending

I'm using Handcent, but I get the same thing if I use the inbuilt messages app. Basically I select a group to send an SMS to and when I send the message it comes back that the multiple messages haven't been sent, but they actually have. First time it happened I kept trying to re-send, got the delivery error every time, despite all 5 lots of messages being sent - I spammed a load of friends! Oddly sometimes it works fine and Handcent does the correct sending of each msg one after another.

I love Handcent and I know it's super-easy to send message to a group of contacts but I have two questions that I have not been able to figure out:
1) is there a way to create a group and name it instead of having it appear as just a list of people?
2) whenever I send a message to a group it shows each individual message getting sent...is there a way to 'consolidate' this so when I send a message to the group I only see the message I sent once instead of once for each contact it is being sent to?

Is there anyway to send out a group email through Gmail on your phone? I've been using the app Contacts Group U to do this but it would be nice to do it straight through Gmail.

Can anyone tell me how to set up a Group Address List. I run a syndicate and need to frequently send the same message to 20+ friends and I do not want to have to keep creating the address list each time. I also need to copy previous texts and modify and again send to the same people.

I have a friend who is added to my Desire's contact list.
1. He is on my Facebook contact. (His facebook pic appears in my Desire contact list)
2. He is my Gmail contact as well.
3. He is added as a 'Phone Contact' as well.
I sent him a text few days ago but don't remember if it was using facebook or my phone (network provider sms) but now when I go in to 'Messages' and send him a message, I just can't figure out if I am sending him a message via Facebook or to his mobile number.

I have a particular problem with the Desire in the format of the delivery report for the messages. It only says 'received', or sometimes 'pending'. I have done some tests, and the pending status does not change when it's actually delivered, and sometimes it will say 'received' when the phone the message is being sent to is switched off.
I used this function (on my trusty old Sony C905) to send messages to phones when they were off, the delivery report would come in with the date and time that the phone was switched on and the message delivered.
Is there an app that I can download to do better management of message tracking? Hopefully the same app that will let me see arabic characters as mentioned in my other query.

Has anyone else had a problem when trying to send a MMS message. I took a picture and tried to send it to a friend of mine and my wife two different times, with two different sized pictures and the message never goes through. I just keep getting a message sending error, until the notification gets so annoying I delete the message all together.

Does anyone know of a specific problem with blackberry's receiving picture messages? When I send them my friend gets an error message and can't download the pic. I have tried sending different sized pics, even pics he sent to me and still the same problem.

I can send mms to my friends on at&t that DON'T have iphones, they get them just fine. however, EVERYONE I've tried to send an mms to that has an iphone, it never gets through. this is using chomp for the most part, but I've also tried it with the stock messaging app (the girl i sent the message to using the stock messaging app got it once, but I've tried it at least 100 times over the past few days trying to figure out the issue.and she's gotten a message ONCE).regular SMS texts go through fine, and i can receive from iphones just fine.
to recap:
incredible mms to at&t non-iphone --> works fine . incredible mms to at&t iphone --> does not work
at&t iphone mms to incredible --> works fine . at&t non-iphone mms to incredible --> works fine
anyone else seeing this?

So when sending text messages, I get the following message every single time i press 'send'
"com.android.mms A large number of text SMS messages are being sent. Select 'ok' to send"
So.....I did send out 100+ messages within like 5 minutes...just sending out a mass txt message letting people know of my new number. So is this Androids way of anti-spam?
I need a way to turn it off, because now I have to make this extra step every single time i send a text message

I have configured my DX for my work email. POP3 incoming mail works, is sent to my phone.Problem is I can not send an email using that account.I get an "Authentication error sending" message on my phone. I have checked the Outgoging Server settings, and the SMTP server and port are correct. The username and password are correct. I have tried just username and username@domain.com.I didnt not have any problems configuring my work email account on my Blackberry.The email Server is IPSwitch Imail 11.Please help, I hate having to send work related emails through my gmail or yahoo accounts.

When I take a picture and try to send it via email it always tells me it's unable to send email and then sits in the outbox. Is there a way to find out why? I can send emails without attachments just fine.

When I try to do this to a group with more than 6 people, it converts the message to a mms and wants to use there email and wont add any more than 10 contacts.This way is messed up, I have made several groups of 7 different sets of contacts, They all change to MMS Message when selecting any of those groups.I can send a group message by doing the below actions without any problem for some reason though, Which TBH is just more hasse.

I recently purchased a HTC Desire Android phone and I'm looking for a way to keep a simple, basic contact list updated and synched with my Gmail account. The problem with the default way on my phone is that it will sync every contact on my Gmail. This is a problem as I only want to have contacts from my phone book synched to one gmail group and vice versa. There is an option to "disply only contacts with numbers" but I still don't like the idea of having every contact on the phone. There is also the problem of the extra empty groups I won't be using, can these be gotten rid of?
I basically just want one list and it to be my default list with all contacts and not have to go through an array of menus to get to that one list on the phone. I don't want that list to be populated by contacts who I may have only emailed once and will never email again. I don't want any gimmicks in between, no gtalk contacts, no facebook contacts, no default gmail contacts and I want to be able to then export this group to a CSV file to use with spreadsheets etc.
This seems to be possible on Android stock and even on HTC Hero Sense UI according to here: Tidy up your Contact List with a Custom Sync Group | Androidheadlines.com
but in the Desire Sense UI, when you go to people/groups/menu, it only gives the option to delete or add. Seems this guy is having the same issue, he has the sync group option but his friend doesn't, both using the same phone. No "Sync Groups" option
There are reports from this thread that some users have had this same problem. Some have a "Sync Groups" option when they go to People>Group Tab and click menu, most don't have this option however and I'm yet to hear from a desire user with this option. Also from this thread (Just want to sync 'My Contacts' on Android, not everything! - Google Mobile Help) one user reported that a "hard reset" gave him the "Sync Group" option. I tried this but had no luck, still the same menu as before.

Today I set up a group on my desire so that I can send a group text or email to the parents of the kids football team that I help to run. It seem that it uses the primary number that's selected in the persons contact info. Some parents have given me both their mobile numbers and sometimes two email addresses so I want to include them all in the same group. Does anyone know how I can do this? On my previous blackberry curve 8900 I could select multiple numbers/email addresses from the same contact to go into the group.

When I send group SMS messages, how can I know which number receives the message. If the contact has more than 1 number (which is generally true) to which number is the SMS sent to? As there's no primary setting for sending messages.

I have come across a compelling problem with my Orange bill since getting my Desire. I set up a group in contacts and a number of times have attempted to send a group text. There are about 8 people in that group but when I pressed send I would get message pending.
Some members of the group would not receive anything whilst others would get a text hours later.
I tried a couple of more times last month then gave up.
This week my bill came with a 10 charge for photo messages, as if I would use this crap way of sending pics when I have access to email. All the group messages were charged at 25p per person.
To give Orange their due, they will reimburse me the money on goodwill but I certainly won't be trying the group thing again.

Been trying for a month to get my business POP3 email to pull down on the Droid. Have tried both the default email app and K9. I am able to send email from the default app, but it will not receive. Just says 'Connection error'. Have checked the settings a dozen times. They are correct. 1st time I tried K9 3 weeks ago, I got no where. C"connection errors". Today I reinstalled it, and all of the sudden it starts pulling down headers. But - about half the emails I click on won't pull down the rest of the message. Just sits there and says 'Downloading...', then after several seconds says 'Connection error'. This is when I start cussing profusely. Sending email from K9 seems to work ok.Anybody else having this same issue? Suggestions? Is there another email app to try?

I am currently working on implementing C2DM stuff and have got this far.
1. Register the device and get back a device registration ID 2. The server gets a Client Authorization Token for "ac2dm" service 3. The server then sends a message to the device via C2DM using the registration id and the client authorization code and gets the following "NotRegistered" message back.
Meaning: NotRegistered — The registration_id is no longer valid, for example user has uninstalled the application or turned off notifications. Sender should stop sending messages to this device.
The thing is as soon as i get the registration id i am sending it to my server which is then sending a message via C2DM all within the space of 1 minute. so how can it not be valid?
I have registered for use the C2DM service and i would expect that if i was not registered with Google then i would not get a registration device id right? Although i don't remember getting an email from google saying i was registered apart from that when i registered to be white listed it did say something about being added to a list. Anyway your views and opinions are welcome.

I have 2 email ac's Tesco & Wanadoo (Orange). I can receive fine but I can't send, keep getting server errors on both ac's all the time. For the outgoing settings do I use the Tosca & Wanadoo (i.e smtp.tesco.net) or do I use my mobile network provider settings?
