before upgrading to 2.2 i backed up lots apps games using astro and app manager to my sdcard. now i have updated i reinstalled them using the same apps. thing is i cant move them to sdcard? google earth etc

i was wondering what apps are safe to move and which ones just wont move. I know system apps and those that use widgets are a no no. But what about Google maps,facebook, gmail, astro and Adobe flash player (12.4) mb?
Maybe we could have a list of what not to move here?
I want to upgrade my SGS2 to ICS using one of the official firmwares, but I want to be able to restore certain apps and their associated data.
I can use Titanium Backup to backup and restore apps currently.
If I backed up these apps, upgraded to ICS (with a wipe install) and tried to restore these apps, would everything work out, will there be some gotchas due to changes in the Android versions?
I have been reading about different ROMs, kernals and themes that have been posted on this site and they all sound very interesting and I have finally decided on what I would like to try first. I used the directions from here to force install the latest Froyo which is awesome and the directions were very nice. So I am hoping to get some guidance for my next adventure with my phone.
I want to install the newest version of Liquid Frozen Yogurt with the Tangerine theme along with one of Slayhers kernals. What all apps do I need to install the above items? And I know the instructions are all out there on how but could someone either point me to the specific ones that I need or paste them here for me? I am doing this to a Moto Droid.
is there a reason that you can only move certain apps? i figured you could move any downloaded app.

But I notice everytime I drag and add an app inside the folder there is no way (at least that I can find) to move them around in the order I would like them to be in. Theres no way to drag them around and organize them without taking them out completely then re adding them in order. Am I doing something wrong? Is this possible? If not with stock folders is there an app that lets me do this?

Once the phone was done flashing DeFrost, with ROM manager, I restarted it. However, the phone will not boot. When powered on, all I can see if the green HTC logo against a white background.
What do i do now?
Update:
I managed to got past the HTC Logo screen where it would show a Red/Green/Yellow/Blue X and then boot into Android 2.2. I did this by clearing the storage data in the bootloader and restarting.
I would have no phone reception and is unable to get wifi connection. and would get an error message saying Process system is not responding at start up. Further, the phone keeps restarting by itself.
Also, SD card not detected and i would get horizontal line noise on the screen.
I bought a new HTC desire last week with Android 2.1 version, after upgrading to android 2.2 version there is no "Android Market" available in my phone.

Recently rooted, and Market says there is updates, but it can't update them. The apps were included as part of leedroid 2.2f. I've read that I can use Titanium to uninstall the app (e.g. maps) then install again from the market. Is this correct, don't want to upset anything.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am new to Android, so new that I don't have it yet. Telus wants to give me a phone and when I tried the Desire in the store I fell in love with it. My current phone is an HTC Touch Pro 2 running Windows Mobile 6.1. I have disabled TouchFlo 3D and installed SPB Mobile Shell 3.5.5 which I have customized to my liking. The Desire interface was so similar and easy to use I want to move over "to the dark side" Here is my issue: I am a very heavy Outlook 2010 user. I run my business on MS Business Contact Manager 2010 in Outlook and all of my appointments and contacts (447 of them) are very important to me. Each contact has multiple addresses, phone numbers and e-mail addresses. I have been reading about the Desire for 2 days and I can live with a weak battery since I would have a car charger for the road and keep it plugged in when at my desk, similar to what I do with my TP2. What I can't live without is seamless syncing of all contact and calendar information. Tasks are important, but could be lived without. Some of the threads I have read say they can sync everything, others say they can sync nothing. I need another Outlook user to let me know if the Desire can sync all contact and calendar data seamlessly. If so, what is used to do it? I have read that the Froyo release with HTC Sync will work, but nothing about the details I mentioned above.

Don't get me wrong, the device is amazing, super smooth and fast, good camera, internet loads faster than my old 3GS and open apps in matter of seconds. Most importantly, it offers me endless possiblity of customization.Even having all that great features, there is something that lacks, and it makes me regret of my purchase sometimes. I tried to make it work, I tried to adapt and change my preferences, but I can't do that anymore.Today I was in the market because I just got bored of the only 5 good games for android. So I entered looking for soiemthing new. Seeing apps like "shinobi barrage" and "ghost chaser" being 4 stars and topping the games list, it made me sad. Games like those only get 2 stars in apple market. And I don't like having such a powerfull device just to play a game with 10 years old graphics. View 5 Replies View RelatedSince moving to Froyo I have noticed a problem.there are only a few apps at the moment that you are able to move to the SD card and I have noticed that when you I do move the app my internal memory does not increase back up. eg: say i have 110mb free internal memory and I install a 10mb app knocking internal down to 100mb if I "move app to SD card" it does transfer but my internal is still 100mb. Am i being completely stupid and missing something or have any of you guys had a similar prob?

I've tried totally uninstalling/reinstalling it, clearing data/cache/dalvik to no avail, any pointers? or is this simply how it is now?
