Have a work-issued HTC Magic here and have installed all sorts of free stuff. Just wondered what happens when I get my own Hero early next year? Can I "move" my applications over? Do I need to pay for them again? I've not created a Market Place account yet - is it tied to a handset?

I know that google market blocks protected apps from non-authorized devices like the legend and I've done lots of searching in this forum and other sites but could someone please reiterate: any timeframe for this to be sorted? Or what's the best workaround? Is there a site we can download apks for (example) layer and install that way? Or is it easier/quicker to mod the phone so it works in marketplace?

When I try to launch market place with id of an application say com.mybrowser.android by throwing an intent android.intent.action.VIEW with url: market://details?id=com.mybrowser.android, the market place application does launches but crashes after launch.
Note: the application com.mybrowser.android doesn't exists in the market-place.
MyApplication is my application.

However, when I try to launch the market place for a package that exists in the market place say com.opera.mini.android, everything works. Log for this case:

If I purchase an app with my current phone, and then I upgrade to a different phone in a few months, is there a way to take the apps with me? I have searched and can't find anything definitive. The ideal thing is if Google is storing my application history with my Google account somewhere, but I don't see where it would be.

I found when I played one of this series of PaPi game and I input my name,then all series PaPi games can read this name.
At beginning, I consider maybe the application saved some data which can be shared by other PaPi games, but when I "Factory data reset" and format the SD card, then I download these games and play them again, it's so crazy that these games can read my name which I inputed before all the same!!
next, I consider maybe the application read the only code of the phone (IMEI) to identify the phone,but I check the install information about all the PaPi games, I can't found any information about "READ PHONE STATE",so I think these applications didn't read the IMEI code. who can tell me how to achieve this function?!

i have found that my apps go to the phone by default and not sd card.

I though by moving it onto a panel of lets say music and media only that it would move away from it's original location. I prefer to see it on only one panel. Any ideas?

View 4 Replies View Relatedi got a samsung galaxy s4 mini the other days and i bought a sd card 8gb kingston class 4, specially for games. i downloaded asphalt 8, automaticaly installed on the internal memory,ocuppied 1.5 gb. when i'm moving it on sd card with "manager apps" it does move but the game occupy totally 3 gb, 1.5 on internal memory and 1.5 on external memory. when i'm moving it with "my files" android>data/obb etc etc, it doesn't work the game, it occupy just 1.5 in internal memory and when i'm starting the game it says to me that i must to download the game, the 1.5gb that i'm talking about.

I use 'Soccer Score Centre lite' at the moment but I'm not happy with it - as I can't figure out how to track games taking place (apart my 'my club') and it doesn't lock the screen so my screensaver comes on and then it doesn't refresh properly. Got my X today and after playing with it for a while and moving apps over I had worn the fully charged battery down to 30%. I decided to go ahead and make the old droid call quality trick of switching to ERV-B, after which the phone resets. The weird part is that the battery came back to 70% after the reset.
