I'm new to both java and the android so I apologize if I'm missing something obvious.
I'm trying to allow a user to stay logged in to an application. What is the best way to do this? Can anybody point me to a tutorial? I've searched the web and can't seem to find anything.

For some reason it can't stay logged in, Gtalk logs in and out like every 5 seconds. I have deleted the app, factory rest, battery pulls but no luck. The factory reset was for multiple reasons.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHad my Hero for a few weeks now and overall loving it. Its Orange branded and updated to the latest ROM. Lately I've started to face this problem where Facebook (from Social Networks), keeps getting logged out every other second or so. Most of the times it just won't log-in with a 'Service not available, try again' sort of message. Also if I try to log in from the Contact, it behaves the same way.On the other hand, the Facebook widget and app are connected and working fine. This is really upsetting since I have many contacts on Facebook and having their pictures showing in the Contacts was a pretty handy feature for me.I've already reset it once, but to no avail. My Twitter and Flickr accounts remained signed in, whereas Facebook just doesn't. I've also tried signing in on an alternative Facebook account to isolate the issue, but the result was the same.Would love to hear from folks facing the same thing and what they did to resolve it. I've also put in a message with HTC.
View 4 Replies View RelatedHas anyone else experienced an issue I've complained numerous times about yet can't get resolution: When users upgrade our My Coupons app, apparently there is a service left unclosed. Fine. The issue being, the old service code interferes with the new code and users uninstall then reinstall immediately in attempt to resolve. Google registers the uninstalls, but not the reinstalls.
I repeat, the market registers the uninstalls, but prompt reinstallations DO NOT get registered!
I can verify this occurs as each time the app is first run it notifies our servers, and we've got record of each install. This record vastly differs from the statistics google is reporting. These records are verifiably unique users.
I have logged on to HTC Sense on line & now cant do it thru the phone, does the phone & pc need to be connected for this? Also when I go to HTC Sense on the phone it just says it syncing. But so far the two have not synced. What am I doing wrong?

View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen I activate my phone i have the facebook "you are not logged in" dialog taking up about 1/3 of my screen. I don't even use facebook. If I click it changes to the login. I can't drag it anywhere. if i could at least minimize it to the normal size i could live with it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI frequently find myself using the MAPS app (not the navigation) but after a few moments the screen turns off. Is there an easy way to make the screen stay on when I am using maps. Perhaps a "stay on app" or a setting somewhere. This is an issue in the car when I'm using the map and the screen keeps turning off, I know I can manually set the timeout up to 30 minutes but that's a pain and I have to remember to set it back afterwards.

One question I have is can I just completely delete everything off of my SD Card so that I can start new? I would like to start off completely clean and not have all the other stuff on there. I don't have anything backed up so that doesn't bother me. Is there anything crucial on the SD card that absolutely needs to stay on there?

View 24 Replies View RelatedEvery morning I listen to RadioTime on my way to work and it is constantly losing it's connection and then buffering for a while to reconnect. I can't figure out the problem because when it shuts off, all it takes to get it up and running again is to hit pause and then play. Judging from that I don't think it's an issue with where I'm at not having a 3G connection. If anyone knows a fix for this it would be much appreciated.I apologize if I didn't explain this very well, if you have any questions feel free to ask.

On one of the home screens or scenes, whatever, i had put the 30 day month view HTC calendar widget. it synced with the Google calendar just fine and there was a little triangle in the upper left corner of the box for the days that had an event. however, they only stay once i reload the widget. and after a little while they go away, but if i pick a day, my events are still there. i really like that the little triangle. how do i make it stay? is there another app or widget that will allow a full month view with the little triangle or similar mark for days with events?

I'm trying not to have to lose all my data by wiping. It seems stable enough except the market / contacts issue. Tried fixing permissions, didn't help. Wondering if I need to get a updated contact - market. No idea. I've already got a backup of a wiped upgrade but was hoping this would work as my SMS data disappears with a wipe not to mention the rest of my data. Leaving the data is working more stable than when I wiped and tried that, except market / contacts. Wiping I'm getting fcs and battery pulls.

I am three weeks out of warranty now and they refused to replace the top. I like my case, but I will never buy a Seidio again. What good is a case if the top doesn't stay on after 4 months? I stopped using a task killer as different ones I have tried tend to eat my battery. At any rate things were fine until today when I noticed that when I click on manage apps and view running apps things like Ebay and MP3 music store are running after reboot. I have forced closed them and when I go back into view the running apps they are still showing up. Why aren't they closing? They used to before today.
