I just got my Droid ERIS and I was having some trouble with Gmail contacts and chatting with them. I was wondering where do see my gmail contacts? I cannot find the list of them. Second, once I find my contacts how do I start chatting with them if they are logged onto Gmail?

I am at my desktop chatting in Google Talk. All of a sudden I get a Instant Message on my phone. I open to read it and its a reply from the conversation that I was having on my PC via the Droids Google talk. So I reply back via the Google talk on the PC and dag gone it, if his response didnt come back on the Droid. What the heck is that all about?

Apparently, friends can see that I'm logged onto my Gmail and message me, which pops up like a text message. But I can't figure out how to see whose online or start a conversation.
For some reason it can't stay logged in, Gtalk logs in and out like every 5 seconds. I have deleted the app, factory rest, battery pulls but no luck. The factory reset was for multiple reasons.

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy Droid Eris's battery was low yesterday, and it died before i could charge it. I plugged it in through the night, and this morning when I turned it on, it wouldn't boot up. Well, it turns on, but it gets stuck on the white screen with the three skateboarding androids. I left it like that for about 4 hours, and it still hasn't changed.
I tried removing the battery, and then putting it back in, but that didn't help. Any suggestions?
I followed the instructions on stopping Sense.Didn't like the results so I tried to start it up again.Now when I power up my Eris it gives me the choice.I prefer not to have the choice but I obviously did not follow the instructs correctly.How do I remove the choice on start up?

View 1 Replies View RelatedGo to menu>settings>applications>manage applications>contacts storage and then delete the data. I backed up my Google contacts on line first by exporting the file just in case. (Not a bad idea anyway, this way you'll have an Excel database with all your contact in case anything should ever happen to your phone). Then resync. It will all go back in without a problem.
I noticed that the file is about 1/2 the size now and I think that's because I didn't sync up all the Facebook data back yet (no photos matching to people, etc.). but I think I'll make sure it all syncs continuously again first, then try adding back in the Facebook info. So far two of the problems were solved by deleting old data (I didn't want to do a factory reset after getting 2.1 just where I wanted it except for the few glitches).
I just recently rooted my eris things were working great.
i installed launcher pro, rebooted phone and it appears to be frozen on the skateboard screen (never happened in the past) what can i do?
I bought an Eris for my son, but he didn't have a GMail account setup so we setup mine, now he has one and we want to switch but I can not figure out how this is done, if you can help I would appreciate it.

I was reading one of these threads, and someone mentioned that there was a way to stop apps from opening on launch.I have apps that randomly open by themselves and i want to prevent them from doing so. Since reset when either market or gmail opened they crash instantly. Gmail on its browser works. Youtube works eg can sign in with daughters gmail account.

View 2 Replies View RelatedHad my Hero for a few weeks now and overall loving it. Its Orange branded and updated to the latest ROM. Lately I've started to face this problem where Facebook (from Social Networks), keeps getting logged out every other second or so. Most of the times it just won't log-in with a 'Service not available, try again' sort of message. Also if I try to log in from the Contact, it behaves the same way.On the other hand, the Facebook widget and app are connected and working fine. This is really upsetting since I have many contacts on Facebook and having their pictures showing in the Contacts was a pretty handy feature for me.I've already reset it once, but to no avail. My Twitter and Flickr accounts remained signed in, whereas Facebook just doesn't. I've also tried signing in on an alternative Facebook account to isolate the issue, but the result was the same.Would love to hear from folks facing the same thing and what they did to resolve it. I've also put in a message with HTC.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI was messing with settings last night to help with battery life so I'm pretty sure I messed something up but my Gmail wont sync automatically today. It worked this morning but later on I realized that nothing had come in so I did a manual sync and sure enough I had some missing email. I checked in Accounts and Sync and Background data and auto-sync are checked as well as sync gmail. But it wont push. Anyone have any ideas on what I did? Also I'm using a rooted 2.1 on my Eris.
