Motorola Droid X :: Screens Stay On When They Charge Up?

Why do the screens stay on when they charge up?
This has been an issue that's been bugging me the last few days now. The stock wall charger that came with my Droid X is the 5PN5504A, which has an output rating of 5.1V, 850mA. My understanding is that the mini-USB interface is an industry standard for power delivery to portable devices, which I take to mean that any charge source should work (wall charger, desktop PC, laptop) as long it has uses an USB interface. So any USB-->miniUSB cable can be used to charge any mini-usb device, regardless of power source, right?
I already have several other mini-usb devices, such as bluetooth headsets, which all came with their own wall chargers. However, I checked these chargers, and they all have different outputs: 5V @ 200mA, 5V @ 150mA, 5V @ 550mA. Because the default Droid X cable was so short, I was tempted to use these other chargers. I plugged in the 5V@150mA charger to my Droid X, and found that the phone does not show it's charging (the lighting bolt isn't there, there's no animation on the battery indicator). So then I switched to the 5V@550mA charger, and it DOES charge....................
I've been charging my phone on my laptop and it won't charge past 40%. Can someone please help me?
View 6 Replies View RelatedEvery morning I listen to RadioTime on my way to work and it is constantly losing it's connection and then buffering for a while to reconnect. I can't figure out the problem because when it shuts off, all it takes to get it up and running again is to hit pause and then play. Judging from that I don't think it's an issue with where I'm at not having a 3G connection. If anyone knows a fix for this it would be much appreciated.I apologize if I didn't explain this very well, if you have any questions feel free to ask.

I have stock 2.2 D1 and just this morning my phone will stay on for about 5 minutes then freeze up and restart. Stay on for 5 minutes then restart again. Battery is full...when the screen goes into standby is when it seems to have problems. Just started happening around 10:00am today. Anyone else having issues?

View 5 Replies View RelatedGoing from cyanogen 5.0.8 to cm6 rc2. I cannot get market to stay open and contacts won't let me import from SD. Is there a fix for this? I'm trying not to have to lose all my data by wiping. It seems stable enough except the market / contacts issue. Tried fixing permissions, didn't help. Wondering if I need to get a updated contact - market. No idea. I've already got a backup of a wiped upgrade but was hoping this would work as my SMS data disappears with a wipe not to mention the rest of my data. Leaving the data is working more stable than when I wiped and tried that, except market / contacts. Wiping I'm getting fcs and battery pulls.

I am three weeks out of warranty now and they refused to replace the top. I like my case, but I will never buy a Seidio again. What good is a case if the top doesn't stay on after 4 months? I hope the otterbox case i try next will be better.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI get my gmail on my Droid, but I also like to keep the messages on my home computer too. Sometimes the messages I get on my phone also come to my computer after I check them on the phone, and others do not. Is there a way to make sure they are not deleted from the gmail server after they are received on the phone so I can also get them at home? It is odd that sometimes they come through but not always.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI got my Droid my automatic brightness has worked fine. It's been extremely fast, reliable and the power manager widget works great as well. As of yesterday, however, now my brightness seems to stay the same all the time. Whenever I attempt to adjust my brightness in settings, it immediately reverts back to automatic brightness and keeps itself at the same level. Also, the power manager button no longer works either. Instead of cycling through the three different settings it turns my brightness all the way up, and when I press my power button the screen takes a few extra seconds to dim before shutting off.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI frequently find myself using the MAPS app (not the navigation) but after a few moments the screen turns off. Is there an easy way to make the screen stay on when I am using maps. Perhaps a "stay on app" or a setting somewhere. This is an issue in the car when I'm using the map and the screen keeps turning off, I know I can manually set the timeout up to 30 minutes but that's a pain and I have to remember to set it back afterwards.
View 26 Replies View RelatedSo i just got my replacement Droid and I have to put my SD Card in. One question I have is can I just completely delete everything off of my SD Card so that I can start new? I would like to start off completely clean and not have all the other stuff on there. I don't have anything backed up so that doesn't bother me. Is there anything crucial on the SD card that absolutely needs to stay on there?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have root, and I was wondering if there's any way to get more screens without having to use different firmware nor a home replacement.
Editing files is fine, and etc, just want more screens, everything else, I pretty much have how I want.
Have it plugged in and set for stay on while charging and set to full brightness, but it keeps dimming after a few seconds. Doesn't go off, but dims significantly until touched. I want it to do what I say, stay on whatever brightness setting I have while charging, period.

View 8 Replies View RelatedMy Droid shows my Mac computer under Bluetooth Settings > Bluetooth Devices >. I can see it listed and it says "Paired but not connected". I then, on my Mac under the BT control panels, see "Droid" listed and it is also "paired but not connected."
Well, when I tell my Droid to "connect" via Bluetooth Settings > Bluetooth Devices > press my computers name (or long press and select "Connect") it grays out and says "connecting" and then my computer shows it as "connected". But, in a few seconds, the Droid reverts back to "Paired but not connected" and the Mac then also goes back to showing the Droid as "Not Connected".
I want to try this app that allows me to use my speaker and mic on my Mac to take and place phone calls, via BT, on my Droid - but I can't get the 2 to stay "connected" via BT. They pair, but wont connect. It pairs perfect with my car instantly every time.
Go into your phone contacts and pick a contact you have texted. On the open field below the contact, slide to the right and you will see a list of every text message you have sent and received from that person even if you deleted the messages!
Delete contact and re-enter the contact.
Supposedly to be fixed with an update?
Un-frickenbelievable!
Some of the crap and goofy stuff I tell my friends, I don't want on the phone.
Really bothers me when I'm playing Snesoid and the keys keep going dark if I'm going through text or reading menus or something. Any way to get the keyboard illumination to stay on?
