I have logged on to HTC Sense on line & now cant do it thru the phone, does the phone & pc need to be connected for this? Also when I go to HTC Sense on the phone it just says it syncing. But so far the two have not synced. What am I doing wrong?

View 2 Replies View RelatedA very strange problem that I have come across. I have 2 Sony VAIO laptops (TZ and Y series) and 2 Samsung NC10s at home. When I have my HTC desire connected via USB to the laptops for charging, I see a strange Start/ReStart/Boot behavior.
- Both the VAIOs don't boot... they start, reach the VAIO splash screen and then don't go any further. The booting process just halts.
- The Samsungs don't have any problem in booting. They booth just fine with the phone connected.
Has anyone faced this problem? I tried changing the boot order on VAIO, forcing it to boot using the internal hard drive only (thinking maybe its taking HTC Desire as one of the boot drives for some reason) - but it didn't help anyway.
I have 9xxBackBeat headset. I connect my headphones to phone, but still the sound comes from the phone speakers. Why?

anyway i want to remove the htc sense on the phone and just have the default the 2.1 theme.
how would i go about doing this, would i need to root the phone or is there an easier way to achieve this.
Facebook for HTC Sense and the Phone Book
Has anybody found a way to remove Facebook contacts that HTC Sense Facebook adds to the overall phone book once you sign into this app? (The list that appears when you press Phone and not the People app.)
It's quite annoying having to trawl through lots of unnecessary non-Google Contacts entries to find the legitimate ones I want in my phone book.
My All People list has never had the Facebook View ticked and correctly displays just my Google Contacts, which is the only View ticked, but when you click on Phone the phone list displays all my Google Contacts and all my Facebook friends who display a phone number. I haven't found any way to remove these Facebook contacts from the Phone list, not even unchecking the Contacts Sync option for HTC Facebook works. The Phone list needs the same View option that the People app has got.

How does HTC Sense Facebook make associations with Google Contacts?
I've got three contacts where the phone has auto linked Facebook to Google, one doesn't have any details that match, Facebook name is different and they don't share their e-mail address on Facebook, and now has code in the notes section of their Google Contact entry to make the link, the other two names match their Facebook names exactly and don't have any code in their Google Contacts note section.

I have used Lambrospowers (XDA Forum) Rosie patch to enable drag n drop when in helicopter (leap) view. It works flawlessly on my rooted stock Froyo Desire. If anyone is interested, I will provide more info on how to install the patch and where to d/l it from.My desire is rooted but S-ON and odexed. It only works on rooted phones.I love this feature that only comes on DHD & DZ as part of the new sense 2.0 ui as standard.

It hasnt been dropped or abused in anyway so quite confused. Tried a hard reset but to no avail? Pic attached if anyone can figure out otherwise back to the shop it goes!

It doesn't seem to matter what the source email is (gmail, hotmail, etc). Some emails are ok some are not. Anyone else have this problem? Any fixes?

Lately I've started to face this problem where Facebook (from Social Networks), keeps getting logged out every other second or so. Most of the times it just won't log-in with a 'Service not available, try again' sort of message. Also if I try to log in from the Contact, it behaves the same way.On the other hand, the Facebook widget and app are connected and working fine. This is really upsetting since I have many contacts on Facebook and having their pictures showing in the Contacts was a pretty handy feature for me.I've already reset it once, but to no avail. My Twitter and Flickr accounts remained signed in, whereas Facebook just doesn't. I've also tried signing in on an alternative Facebook account to isolate the issue, but the result was the same.Would love to hear from folks facing the same thing and what they did to resolve it. I have a friend who has an older android phone, I think it is a vodaphone branded phone, he has the ability to turn on bluetooth and if a connection is not made within a short time bluetooth automatically turns off and it also turns off if it is not connected for a short period. Sounds ideal if you want to connect to a head unit (bluetooth enabled car radio).I have seen such an app for android but it was only for Andriod 1.5 (or 1.6) and not any version newer than that - is there such a thing for 2.1 and 2.2 in the future?

View 22 Replies View RelatedI've had my desire for around a month now & had no real problems with it, flashed it with a stock ROM initially & then rooted it a couple of days after the root was released. When I woke up this morning I was connected to my WiFi network but when I tried to load a webpage, nothing happens, it comes up with the stock 'Web page not available' page. I tried a couple of web pages but got the same response, I thought it might be my WiFi network but when I got to work, exactly the same thing happens. I can connect via GPRS when I disable the WiFi with no problem. I've been using Y5 Battery Saver for the past two weeks, not sure if that's relevant. Is this a standard error / known bug, how would I go about fixing this, not having WiFi is obviously a bit of pain!
OK, installed a Terminal emulator over 3G & ran a couple of commands, including dmesg. From the output of dmesg it looks like the WiFi connects but then something goes wrong, here's a brief transcript:

I would like to add songs to have a different notification for text messages to phone calls. I have seen from Tips where I need to put them but when I connect my phone to the computer I can't see a folder "sdcard". I can see various folders within the phone, eg photos but not this one.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have discovered an error in my phone which seems to occur only when connected through 3G (not WIFI).
What happens is the following: I turn/have the phone with 3G on and turn on the youtube app. I click on a movie and the whole phone completely reboots immediately; i.e. I get the whole "HTC quietly brilliant" intro screen and have to enter my PIN again.
I have downloaded a log scanner and ran through the above specified actions (phone rebooted again) and it saved everything that happened according to the log. When wanting to send the log to my e-mail, the phone rebooted immediately again(!). I turned it on again, shut 3G off and went on WIFI. After this I sent the log to my e-mail. No problems. My sister has a Desire as well and has no such problem...
So, now I have this log and was hoping someone would let me send it to him/her and have a look at it to find a clue as to what's wrong.. Maybe I have to bring the phone back or maybe it can be solved in a less troublesome way (read: I can keep this wonderful apparatus with me...!
For some reason it can't stay logged in, Gtalk logs in and out like every 5 seconds. I have deleted the app, factory rest, battery pulls but no luck. The factory reset was for multiple reasons.
