I'm seeking for an android based phone. I want the best phone currently available (or coming out in the following month) that can work on GSM. I want an advanced and powerful phone. I saw the EVO which looks amazing (except for the screen). The Desire which is my leading choice right now. And the samsung I9000 which is also great. Do you have a favorable one? Are there other choices?

I'm searching for android phones that can use video out to the tv for a research project. I'm considering the HTC Touch Pro.
Is there anything I have to do specifically to get the video out to work (for displaying my app on the tv)? or will the phone just display a running app on the tv without extra work?
Well it's really a simple question. I thought why not? But wasn't able to find any DAB apps in the Market, so perhaps it's not possible?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'd like to connect to my girlfriend's phone (she's currently thousands of miles away) to be able to help her with stuff on her phone (customizing it, help with learning how to do stuff). Is there an app that allows you to remotely connect to another person's phone and manipulate the interface using your own phone or a PC? We use a program called Crossloop to do it for PC stuff, connecting her computer to me via the internet so I can do tech support type stuff on her computer as if I was there. I'm hoping there's something similar for Android. Yes I know she should learn on her own, but she's stubborn.

But on a HTC Desire (2.1.1) or Motorola Milestone (2.0.1) we receive nothing. We tryed to send the broadcast by the phone it self, this is working on all phones
View 3 Replies View RelatedOn my HTC EVO Wavesecure works well normally, but if you turn the phone all the way off, it can not be located, or locked or anything else. I haven't rooted my phone and I believe that there may be no solution to this problem. Any info at all on this would be appreciated. I also posted this under HTC EVO and hope that the redundancy is not a violation (I just joined the forum today).

I love all the notifications I get but when I'm sleeping I need to hear the phone ring if someone calls but I don't need woke up everytime a sports score is posted or I get an e-mail.
I have tested on the simulator motorola provides and on various hardware (Droid, Nexus One, G1,wildfire) but can't reproduce anything. Wondering if anyone else has had any issues.

I'm looking at buying an unlocked Hero from mobile phones direct.co.uk, whenever they start selling them. I'm only hesitant about what if any support I'd lose from not buying directly from a carrier. How do Android OTA updates work on unlocked phones? Also, can anyone speculate yet how HTC is going to be handling its updates? Will it push through the carriers? If I buy unlocked and get a contract through Voda phone (who is not officially carrying the phone) will I be the last one on the block to get my updates? Query: Can GPS enabled apps, work on the phone, without cell serivce. IE can you pre-load say all the US map and POI info into the phone so it can be used as a standalone GPS in the middle of no where.
