Is there an app that will allow me to turn off all data and have just the phone work?
I love all the notifications I get but when I'm sleeping I need to hear the phone ring if someone calls but I don't need woke up everytime a sports score is posted or I get an e-mail.

The application appears to work properly until you turn the phone off (all the way off). I have decided NOT to root my phone at this time.

Situation: On airplane with in flight wireless. Want to allow wireless, but disallow cellular, including 2g/3g data.
I am going to canada and I read the older posts and know how to turn off email but I cannot use droidwall because my incredible is not rooted. Is there anywhere to restrict all apps from using any data?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm currently using the free version of Juice Defender. I'm not sure if your phone should be set with mobile data switched on or off while using Juice Defender. Does JD turn data on and then off with the phone set to off to start with, or should the phone be set to data on, so that JD can manage data access according to the chosen schedule?

I used to be on verizon and never had this issue on their much better network, but I was just curious how good it is on AT&T, I have yet to find out because of the GPS issue on this phone.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMobile phone. I bought it year and a half ago, and have changed operating systems few times (custom roms). Now I have Pristine JB Slim custom ROM, i have installed it 1-2 months ago (cant remember exactly), and everything was okay for first half period, but then it started to crush after mobile data/wifi was turned on.
When I turn on MD/WIFi, its usually okay till 76% of battery, but then screen starts to blink for few seconds and turns off immediately after. When I turn it on again, it turns off again after 1-2 minutes, and sometimes even warns me that i have to charge it cause battery has only few % left (most of time just 1). And I have to charge it again to work normally (well, until it starts to go crazy again )
Before i start to install other roms again. So. Is it faulty battery, bad ROM or something else?
I've had an HTC Desire on Orange in the UK for about 6 weeks and it is having persistent problem. Firstly despite having a strong 4-bar out of 4 signal, online services and the internet do not work at all when a 3G signal is being received (e.g. news, weather, all widgets, internet, email etc).Calls and texts do work however with a 3G signal.But when a 3g+ signal (HSDPA) is being received, all internet services as above work fine.However, when a 3+ signal is being received, the phone does not make or receive calls or text messages, and often fails to send texts. Calls I make immediately shut down (bleep + �call ended�), and incoming calls from other people go straight to answerphone. Also often when turning the data connection on/off, it freezes and has to be rebooted, and turning airplane setting on and off does not fix the problem.
I have also tried the different network settings (GSM, WCDMA, auto, etc). �GSM� sends and receives calls and texts but doesn�t work (or is incredibly slow) with internet, and �auto� and �WCDMA only� show the problems as above.I don't think this is a network/coverage issues as, as I have seen many people reporting these same issues on other networks and in other parts of the UK, and I have read that other people are having to manually turn off HSDPA to be able to make calls (using an app?). Even if I can stop HSDPA from connecting to make sure the phone works, I still can�t use the internet at all on 3g � even GSM works better!
Finally, when I connect to a bluetooth device (e.g. car and headphones) the phone will connect briefly, and then randomly disconnect. I have also seen this issue reported elsewhere.I very much like the phone and don't want to get rid of it, but these problems are making the phone unuseable.Also I don't know if I should be contacting HTC or Orange about this. Will the upcoming Android 2.2 fix these problems?Anyone know how to fix this or if I need a new handset? Are there any apps that can help? Also does the Nexus One have these problems and are they fixed by Froyo?
Is there an app (or any simple way of creating one) that can turn bluetooth on when phone on charge and turn it off when taken off charge.

My only problem is, I need to stop my a-hole friends from calling me while I'm at work playing some games.Is there a way to prevent phone calls and text messages to inhibit those from kicking my data connection off while tethered using PDANET?I have done searches all afternoon and can't find anything relating to it.Please don't suggest Airplane mode.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I use the task killer...and at the moment say when I kill tasks it'll tell me there is about 200M avaliable memory free...if I use the phone for a day it'll maybe go down to 150M even if I am still killing apps and there is nothing in 'running services'. If i turn off the phone and turn it back on it goes up to 250M. What is running that I can't stop myself to make it go down from the 250M but that I can just eliminate by turning off the phone?

View 9 Replies View Relatedi just picked up a unlocked a moto cliq.. my concern is that i have never had a data plan on my account (at&t). this phone seems to have alot of different apps and widgets updating themselfs continuosly.. i have no problem with while im at home beacuse of my wifi that i can connect to.. but when im not on a wifi connection it seems to still be updating.. which i dont want until i upgrade my plan to unlimited data.. How do i turn off these features or turn off data/ internet acess all together when im not on a wifi connection?

Let me explain, often when I'm using the phone asks me to turn on the GPS because otherwise the navigator of Location does not work, when I do cancels and then get out, I came back after just 15 seconds and then continues with the same demands indefinitely.
I reset phone and I formatted the memory card , but now after reconfiguring the mobile phone presents itself to me again, what would it be?
I also checked with Kaspersky, but nothing found. That practically stops me using a mobile phone?

He wants an android phone he can swap his sim card into while not at work. He has neither a data plan or a texting plan because he doesn't use them. He's considering an unlocked Legend or N1 if he can find an app/widget that will disable the data network radios on his phone, so he can only use the wifi. Would this work, or are there better apps/widgets you guys know of?

I have a lot of stuff on autosync and i know i can turn that off using the power control widget but it seems that doesnt stop ALL data from transferring. My LG G2X is running CM7 (but beautifully skinned for ICS!) and turning off Background Data gives me a 30% improvement in battery life and eliminates most of those annoying status bar advertisements. I really REALLY don't like the privacy vulnerability of my phone checking in with Google Play in the background. For example, occasionally when I check Google Play, my desktop icon for Bing suddenly "disappears" (gasp!)
Meanwhile my Galaxy Tab is running JB and maintains a constant connection with Play. I get regular notifications demanding that I update my apps. And guess what - on my Galaxy Tab my desktop icon for Bing sometimes disappears on it's own! :P
There is an option to restrict background data, but you need to set a data limit, you get an annoying alert in the status bar - and it doesn't work (restrict <> disable)!
I sync nothing with Google and want my privacy.
How to fix the "Quick Settings" widget to turn on the GPS so it will work? (any suggestions)?Third Issue: I notice if I use the "Quick Settings" widget to turn on the GPS nothing that uses GPS will work, the GPS logo on the top will appear and disappear after few seconds. the only option I have is to go to settings -> location -> etc.
