View 2 RepliesWe am looking for a expert Android developer for Android application development. You must have documented experience in following areas:
- UI development - file handling - multimedia decoding - authentication
We already have our application running on other devices and can provide you with functioning models. We will provide you with a well documented API for you to interface to our servers. The UI will change a little compared to what we have now. You will have access to an experienced graphics designer for any necessary design changes.
We expect that you will sign an NDA and a contract with us. Compensation will be $20,000.00. Payment will occur as we launch the application. It will be based on a revenue share model where you will get 30% of the revenues up to a max of $20,000.00. We estimate you will reach the $20,000.00 mark within 2 months of application launch date. We are only looking for expert developers and you should be able to initiate the work within the next couple weeks. If succesful, we would be interested in extending additional work as the application evolves.
The "Developer Console" page of Android market not work on Chromium browser. Some hyperlink item on this page are un-clickable, such as "Upload Upgrade", "Replace this image", and "add language". However it's work correctly on Fire-Fox browser. I don't know how to report this issue to Chromium developing team, please help me to report this issue.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had my Moto Droid since just after the release and since rooting and ROMing in January, I'm really becoming more obsessed. Cyanogen has had a huge affect (for the better!) on my Android experience. Just curious what phone you guys think has the biggest developer community. (I'm obviously going with DROID ). I'd love to also hear the opinions of those with multiple Android phone experiences.
View 7 Replies View RelatedIf I ever figure out how to root my cellularsouth hero, can i or should I download and install 2.1 when we finally get it from my carrier? Will it just over write what I have on there or will it need to be flashed back to stock? There really is no way to back up the OS from what I can tell. When i jailbroke my iphone an upgrade just put it back to factory default with the upgrade. I don't think it works like that with Android right? Because of not baing able to back up the phone before hand i worry about bricking it.
I am also wondering since there is so much trouble rooting the cellularsouth version of the hero, if it is even worth it. By the time i or someone else figures it out 2.1 will be out and then it may be a long time to get that rooted too. Sometimes I wish this company I am with was not cdma. cdma seems to have the most trouble getting rooted. But we do get great signal and service, but thats about all with this company.
I just procured a developer phone recently. I am not able to access the /data directory. how do I get super access on this phone?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I first started publishing Android apps as an indie developer, I posted my phone number on the app's submission page, thinking it would not be listed publicly. When I found out that it was, I removed the number from the app listing. I don't have the resources to handle phone support, and much prefer to handle support via email. Besides, there is no requirement that we provide phone support, as long as we provide support in some way, correct? Anyway, these days I'm getting fewer phone calls, but I'm still getting calls. We are required to list a phone number in our developer profile, but it is stated that this is used for Google to contact us directly in case there are issues. So where are users still getting my phone number, and how can I make sure it's not listed?
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust recieved my dev phone today in the US. I have am AT&T sim card, but with no actual service with the card. I was wondering if their is a way to set up the apn or bypass it to use the phones built in wifi. Just wanna start testing my code and can't seem to get it working without having an actual service provided by AT&T.
Basic question is: Can I use the Dev phone with a sim card, implying that the sim card has no actual service.
I was just wondering. I was going to buy the DEV 2 but then i decided to just buy the Nexus One. I want to troubleshoot my apps but i don't want to buy old technology. as it is I am going to have to buy a new phone every 6 months to keep up with technology.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIf someone finds or steals the phone, can the pattern lock be bypassed on a CDMA phone (not sure if GSM phones are vulnerable to SIM replacement as a bypass)? If not, perhaps that's pretty good security, so long as you're careful not to let others see your unlock pattern and you wipe the screen to remove your finger trail. Of course that still leaves the sd card unprotected, but if keep everything important in your dropbox, you can delete it from there, and probably do so before the person decides to pull the card out.
View 7 Replies View RelatedHow does one determine the home carrier on a CDMA phone? By home carrier I mean the carrier that the phone's owner has a contract with, not the owner of the cell site that the phone is communicating with. These are different when the phone is roaming. On a GSM phone I can get the home carrier from the IMSI recorded on the SIM, but this does not work on a CDMA phone. CDMA has a similar identifier called home system ID. Is there a way to query the home system ID? If that is not possible, how do I determine the home carrier? On Windows Mobile I am forced to search the registry looking for strings like 'Verizon' and 'Sprint'. Is there a similar klooge on Android?

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is my first post and I am new to Android so excuse my ignorance if this is well documented and common knowledge. I have a stock ADP, firmware 1.0, no updates no mods and of course I want to get the latest features such as voice control, latitude etc, and so begins the fun. Why is there nothing official that can be easily found which states what is going on for people that own the ADP? I must have read dozens of articles showing update procedures and claiming to have leaked OFFICIAL developer updates and only recently did i find 2 thread that eventually end with something stating there is NO official update for developer phones yet.
I have 2 gripes about this:
1. Why no official and clear statement from the development team to clarify this before people start scrambling desperately to install leaked versions that are false? (I know I almost did) 2. Why as a developer do I have to wait for features that are already available to end users?
Exciting news! Apparently a friend of the guys at AllDroid.org has access to a Droid X Developer phone which may be crucial to unlocking the bootloader. They are currently collecting donations to obtain the phone.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAbout the "latest" version of the Android platform vs. APIs and SDK. as far as I read in the Android web site the latest Android SDK is 2.2
I also have an HTC developer Phone, and when I go to the htc to update its firmware and Android Image (from page: http://developer.htc.com/adp.html); I found that the latest radio and recovery images are for Android 1.6
what does it mean?
1. Do I have to wait until platform 2.2 is released for HTC Dev Phone?
2. or if I have the latest 1.6 images instaled on my device it will run whatever I build using SDK 2.2.
Using this library, ZXing, we have a project at school in which we'll implement a inventory system using Android phones.
We aim to use an Android phone to be a inexpensive replacement to this:
I've read some of the warnings on the FAQ for certain phones. Is there a specific phone that Android developers prefer (with use of the ZXing library in mind)? We have to buy the phone ourselves, so we would prefer not to buy the wrong phone!
I am trying to downgrade Android developer phone 1's firmware version from 1.6. to 1.5 by following this link.
http://developer.htc.com/adp.html
Here I have completed till steps #7 of Update the Device Radio Firmware. While in steps 8. It start to load update.zip file. It analyze the update.zip file. and at last it shows that update Aborted. I have followed exact all steps mentioned in that list.
I didn't see an announcement on this list, and while I own a G1,I know many developers asked for this, so "a 1.1 version of Android for the Android Dev Phone":

I'm searching for android phones that can use video out to the tv for a research project. I'm considering the HTC Touch Pro.
Is there anything I have to do specifically to get the video out to work (for displaying my app on the tv)? or will the phone just display a running app on the tv without extra work?
The Telephony Manager.getLine1Number() works on GSM phones, but not CDMA phones. Is it possible to get the phone number of a CDMA phone through android API calls at all?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI know you can get a developer phone but the new G2 looks pretty nice as well as the Samsung around the corner. I would assume however that it would be a better idea to be using a consumer phone if they are the target market for apps you wish to produce, especially for testing purposes. Has anyone else had experience from this choice and provide any further illumination to the issue?
View 3 Replies View RelatedAlthough the title has iPhone 4G and EVO 4G, it's more about the different networks and how they are approaching giving more bandwidth to their users. Writer indicates that CDMA has maxed out it's data speeds, hence the need for 4G, but that GSM has not. Anyway, interesting take on 4G. 4G Apple iPhone, Sprint EVO: Worth The Hype?
View 19 Replies View RelatedI'm looking to hire a developer for a small project. It involves searching and sending a request to my server which will return results in XML format. The app will have to display the results. Then based on that, the user will click on of the results and the app will send another request to the server and return the last bit of data. So basically a GUI that requests and displays data. My server does all the work, basically. I have designed a GUI with photo shop from pre-existing screen shots, so the developer just needs to emulate what I've drafted up.
