Do gifs work on the HTC desire?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've looked around but I can't find anything on it. I just moved some animated pics to my photo folder on my Behold II and when I view them in the photo gallery it's just stuck on the first frame and stays that way like a regular picture. Is it possible to have animated gifs "move" on this phone or is it not supported?

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust installed Chrome to Phone and although its a great feature in 2.2 it is a bit hit and miss. out of about 10 websites i tested to send to my phone 2 were successful, and sending a goggle e maps page to open maps on the phone didn't work at all.
View 11 Replies View RelatedOK let me clarify, it does work, but only if I am actively using the phone. If I set my alarm then hit the power button to turn the screen off, or even just allow the screen to timeout and turn off, then the alarm fails to go off. This is REALLY annoying as it renders the entire alarm feature completely useless.
View 49 Replies View RelatedInstalled the Snesoid and GameBoid on it but they are not working. I open up either application with a message 'No ROM loaded. Press Menu for more options.' I put my games in a folder called Roms. When I select the folder to load a game, it recognises that the games are on there but as soon as I choose a game it loads for a couple of seconds then the whole application closes returning me to my home screen on my phone. What's up with that? I want to play Mario Kart dammit! P.S Is there any way to stop the phone's time syncing with my PC time. It's doing my head in!

View 49 Replies View RelatedI love the phone, its amazing. and it's one and only flaw really is the battery life. I struggle to get through a day with quite a few power saving things on it but anyway, would this battery designed for the nexus one work for the desire? Seidio 3200 mAh Extended Battery for Google Nexus One on eBay (end time 08-Jul-10 17:05:29 BST) the only reason i'm so sceptical is because it would involve a new case and I'm not sure if a case designed for nexus one would fit the desire. it not, are there any other batteries or really small portable chargers for the desire?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had an HTC Desire on Orange in the UK for about 6 weeks and it is having persistent problem. Firstly despite having a strong 4-bar out of 4 signal, online services and the internet do not work at all when a 3G signal is being received (e.g. news, weather, all widgets, internet, email etc).Calls and texts do work however with a 3G signal. But when a 3g+ signal (HSDPA) is being received, all internet services as above work fine. However, when a 3+ signal is being received, the phone does not make or receive calls or text messages, and often fails to send texts. Calls I make immediately shut down (bleep + call ended), and incoming calls from other people go straight to answerphone. Also often when turning the data connection on/off, it freezes and has to be rebooted, and turning airplane setting on and off does not fix the problem.
I have also tried the different network settings (GSM, WCDMA, auto, etc). GSM sends and receives calls and texts but doesnt work (or is incredibly slow) with internet, and auto and WCDMA only show the problems as above.I don't think this is a network/coverage issues as, as I have seen many people reporting these same issues on other networks and in other parts of the UK, and I have read that other people are having to manually turn off HSDPA to be able to make calls (using an app?). Even if I can stop HSDPA from connecting to make sure the phone works, I still cant use the internet at all on 3g even GSM works better!
Finally, when I connect to a bluetooth device (e.g. car and headphones) the phone will connect briefly, and then randomly disconnect. I have also seen this issue reported elsewhere.I very much like the phone and don't want to get rid of it, but these problems are making the phone unuseable. Also I don't know if I should be contacting HTC or Orange about this. Will the upcoming Android 2.2 fix these problems?Anyone know how to fix this or if I need a new handset? Are there any apps that can help? Also does the Nexus One have these problems and are they fixed by Froyo?
I have an app that downloads several gifs and then needs to overlay them (not all centered at the same point), honoring the transparency of the images. I am currently planning to subclass ImageView. What is an efficient way to do the overlay/merge?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe are doing some prototyping for an Android app and we wanted to use Animated GIFs via webpages to get a sense of animation. Unfortunately, we have found that we can't do that on the Android's browser (or Opera for that matter). I've read some posting saying that this might get fixed but there were never any specific dates. Does anyone have some news on when we might be able to use Animated GIFs in webpages? If not, does anyone have any suggestions on good ways to develop quick animated visual prototypes of apps for Android? In particular, our design folks (who are handling the visual stuff) know HTML, Javascript, J-query but don't know Java and we would prefer to NOT have them learn another language, if possible as this is really just for rapid prototyping.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm searching for android phones that can use video out to the tv for a research project. I'm considering the HTC Touch Pro.
Is there anything I have to do specifically to get the video out to work (for displaying my app on the tv)? or will the phone just display a running app on the tv without extra work?
