I want to get the Information of the Music track playing on a android device?
Is there any android powered api available for this?
Or do I have to write a plugin for respective android media players?
My Hero did something odd today, it turned itself off and didn't want to turn back on again (wasn't doing anything on it either). Took out the battery, put back in and all was good. No loss of contacts etc.

My phone dropped from my pocket into the toilet. It was in there for no longer than 5 seconds. I took out the battery and tried to dry everything off. In a panic I turned it back on to see if it would work. I wasn't thinking at all. It started to turn on, then the screen flickered and everything went black. I dried it out properly and it still won't turn on. I've plugged it into the charger, nothing. Is my phone now useless? My mom says will not buy me another phone until the contract is up, in over a year. Is there anything I can do? Or did I completely screw myself?
If my phone is gone, can I still save my contacts and/or pictures?
Just getting the hang of this Motorola droid. Was doing something funky so I powered it down and then back up. I have this dos looking screen that says...

Today I dropped my HTC Hero on the ground from less than a foot above and when it dropped it turned off so I went to turn it back on and after multiple tries finally got it to the hold screen. When I went to pull down the hold screen to go to the home screen it went to the screen when you're turning it on that says "hTc". I immediately hit end and it goes back to the hold screen then when I pull it down it again it says that some of the applications, which I assume by their name is part of the phone processing, isn't working so I have to force it close. The weird thing is I still get my emails and texts and when a phone call comes in it says the Android application isn't working. Anybody know what is going on here?

I tried with another number and observed the same while my HTC Desire was in front of me and powered on. At times it does connect but most of the time not. I have full bars. I was using HTC Touch Pro2 earlier at the same location for at least 10 months now. Had no issues with network. Got my HTC desire 3 days ago and have this problem ever since.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there was an app or indeed if the Desire has the ability to transmit a low powered signal on FM?
You know how some Nokia phones can transmit a weak signal on FM so that if you are playing an mp3 or listening to an Internet stream on your phone you can pick it up on your car stereo and listen through that.
Do anyone have they phone shut-off and power down. My phone had to be power up in the morning.

is this possible at all?
I turn my Ally off for the night, plug it in to recharge & it turns itself back on. So, I turn it off again &, back on it comes! I want the thing off so it does not make any alert-noises and bother those within earshot. I suppose I could put it on Silent, but, come-on! This should be an allowed thing to do to a phone. Why in hell would it ever be set up to come back on when I deliberately just turned it off!
Note: "Stay Awake" under "Development" is not checked.
So I got the info for my school email today and it is @my.mcphs.edu "powered by google".I tried setting up email via imap but it did not work. Is there a specific port, server I have to choose?Does it matter that it is powered by google?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Incredible rings when there's a visible screen. When the screen darkens and phone enters sleep after, in my case 1 minute of non-use, any calls coming in do not ring through. Voicemail picks them up but there is no indication that I have an incoming call unless I wake the phone up and check the upper left hand menu for the voicemail icon. This can't be set up right. When the phone is asleep (dark screen) but not powered off, there has got to be a setting that lets calls ring through and awaken the phone so it can be answered.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm planning to get a Bluetooth headset for use with my Eris. I don't really have any experience with a headset so I have a question about how it works:
I would like to leave the headset powered on and when I receive a call, either answer it from the headset or from the Eris depending on where I am/what I'm doing etc. Is this possible? Or if the headset is on will I always have to answer the call from there? I believe that I've heard that this is the way headsets work but I was hoping that I might be able to choose my answer "mode".

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got the Nook for my bday yesterday and its pretty awesome. Already have THAT rooted too haha. Just on principle
One of the things that i factored into my decision between that and the kindle is the fact that the Nook is Android powered. Am I wrong in thinking though that if a non-Android powered e-reader (the kindle), has an Android application, then why the hell doesn't the Nook?
Can someone explain a couple of very simple concepts to me - I'm interested in mobile devices running android and how they are identified over networks. Some scenarios: Device is connected over WiFi - presumably the device has a standard IP address as with any host and can communicate with any other android host over TCP/IP (assuming it knows the participating device's IP? device is connected over bluetooth - how are devices identified in this case? device is connected over mobile operator's network - this is the one I'm interested in and confused by - is there anyway for two or more devices to discover each other and communicate via the mobile operator's network? How does a device communicate with a backend server in this scenario? In other words, how do apps and devices communicate when not connected to a WiFi network?

How do I map the device Y axis to the screen Y axis?I can't figure this out.I'm the developer of Tricorder, and I'm trying to make it so that the accelerometer and magnetometer indicators I draw always point in the right direction. On the G1 phone with the slider closed, all is well. But when I open the slider, I end up showing that gravity is pulling me to the left (if the phone is held with the display vertical). So, I know that the device, and hence sensor, Y axis is always in the direction of the earpiece; and the screen Y axis changes when I open the slider. And I know that I can use remapCoordinateSystem() to change the device axes to match the screen axes. But where do I find out what the device's orientation is?In other words, how do I compute the correct values for the X and Y parameters to remapCoordinateSystem()?
Configuration.orientation seems quite useless.Suppose it is set to LANDSCAPE.What does this mean?Does it mean a device which is "naturally" portrait (i.e. the sensor Y axis points to the narrow end), and which has been turned into landscape mode?If so, which way was it turned?Or does it mean a device which is naturally landscape? In other words, LANDSCAPE could mean that the screen axis is off from the sensor axis by +90, 0, OR -90 degrees. Not much help.So how do I do this?Obviously I want my app to work on all devices, not just the G1 phone.
I have a standalone GPS enabled data recorder in my car that can function as either a USB host or device. (Its a class 0x00h USB device). I currently connect to it via a WM 6.5 app running on my Palm Treo 750. I would like to port my WM 6.5 app to an Android phone. (I don't have a specific Android phone in mind, I would like it to be as generic as possible).Replicating the GUI is not that difficult, but I am having trouble getting started on the USB communication. I'd appreciate it if someone could point me towards an example, or the appropriate tutorial.

I'm using the android plugin for eclipse, and when I try to run my program using a real device through the android device chooser, my phone is not listed as a device. I have updated eclipse and all of the android packages, but it still isn't showing up. My phone is running 1.6, which is also the target version listed in the eclipse project. Also, the reason I decided to try testing on a real device is because the emulator doesn't seem to be working right anymore when I run my project. The emulator launches, but the program never does. Any ideas?(using windows 7/t-mobile mytouch 3g)
