View 3 RepliesIt pops a message saying it's full, unplug. So I try doing it every morning before going to work, but that's not enough time to charge it completely. So I end up charging it partially at home and then finish charging it in the car. So when it's impossible to charge it fully in one charging session (which I assume is the best way to charge for the health of the battery), should I over charge or should I keep interrupting the battery's normal usage with multiple short charges?

For the last two days I have had my battery charged fully before I went to bed, I would have all the tasks killed as well. And by 7am I would hear the phone shut off, it just dies completely.
View 31 Replies View RelatedSo i really like the clock function and the ability to use it as an alarm clock next to my bed. I set it in the mode with the quarter moon and star. What m worried about is the effect on my LCD screen. It seems to be running all night but in a dimmer mode. Is it ok to use the feature every night? Will i end up ruining my LCD a lot faster?
View 24 Replies View RelatedI'm sure there is a thread for this but i can't seem to find it but does anyone know if you can keep the droid powered off while charging it? i have the dock and every time i shut down the droid and put it on the dock or plug in the micro usb the droid powers back on.
is this possible at all?
I turn my Ally off for the night, plug it in to recharge & it turns itself back on. So, I turn it off again &, back on it comes! I want the thing off so it does not make any alert-noises and bother those within earshot. I suppose I could put it on Silent, but, come-on! This should be an allowed thing to do to a phone. Why in hell would it ever be set up to come back on when I deliberately just turned it off!
Note: "Stay Awake" under "Development" is not checked.
I just powered my phone off while it was connected to my charger? And it stayed off. I'll test some more to make sure this is the case.
View 8 Replies View Relatedwhat should I do to make my application to be restarted automatically after the phone has been powered-off and powered-on again? I read that regular alarms do not survive phone reboots so, I'm assuming there should be a way to do it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy phone dropped from my pocket into the toilet. It was in there for no longer than 5 seconds. I took out the battery and tried to dry everything off. In a panic I turned it back on to see if it would work. I wasn't thinking at all. It started to turn on, then the screen flickered and everything went black. I dried it out properly and it still won't turn on. I've plugged it into the charger, nothing. Is my phone now useless? My mom says will not buy me another phone until the contract is up, in over a year. Is there anything I can do? Or did I completely screw myself?
If my phone is gone, can I still save my contacts and/or pictures?
Just getting the hang of this Motorola droid. Was doing something funky so I powered it down and then back up. I have this dos looking screen that says...
Bootloader
2C.6C
Battery OK
OK to Program
Connect USB
Data Cable
Today I dropped my HTC Hero on the ground from less than a foot above and when it dropped it turned off so I went to turn it back on and after multiple tries finally got it to the hold screen. When I went to pull down the hold screen to go to the home screen it went to the screen when you're turning it on that says "hTc". I immediately hit end and it goes back to the hold screen then when I pull it down it again it says that some of the applications, which I assume by their name is part of the phone processing, isn't working so I have to force it close. The weird thing is I still get my emails and texts and when a phone call comes in it says the Android application isn't working. Anybody know what is going on here?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Incredible rings when there's a visible screen. When the screen darkens and phone enters sleep after, in my case 1 minute of non-use, any calls coming in do not ring through. Voicemail picks them up but there is no indication that I have an incoming call unless I wake the phone up and check the upper left hand menu for the voicemail icon. This can't be set up right. When the phone is asleep (dark screen) but not powered off, there has got to be a setting that lets calls ring through and awaken the phone so it can be answered.

Hey guys I had a question wanted to know am I suppose to have some type of charging light when the phone is powered off and plugged into the wall charger? or does this only come on when the phone is fully charged?

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe Captivate (and Galaxy S in general) all come with Swype, right? But Swype isn't a market app right now, right? As in, the HTC Aria can't get it unless it is rooted/worked around (not too hard, but a hassle)
So is the Captivate the only phone on AT&T that can officially have swype? We all know that Apple won't let Swype in their market
Is swype coming to the official android market? is it already there? (I don't have an android, but I want one)
I just thought I'd put up 2 pics to show you how good the night mode is. They were taken probably 10 secs apart in my room which isn't too bright (as can be seen in the first pic). The second image is with night mode on.
View 6 Replies View RelatedA couple of days ago I posted a question on what you guys did so that you could still receive emergency calls at night without the phone disturbing you letting you know you got a spam email at 3am.Several of you mentioned that I could go and change my notification volume, but doing that every night was too much work and I was bound to forget or silence my calls and forget to turn it back on in the morning.I found this wonderful FREE app called Sweet dreams. You set the time at which you go to sleep and it has several options such as disabling gps, wifi, bluetooth and putting your ringer and notification volume at whatever you want. You set the wakeup time as well so the phone turns things back on for you in the morning.
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo I thought I heard something that you should power down your smartphone each night. Is this something I should be doing? And is it just that turning it off and then back on?
View 2 Replies View RelatedDo you know if there is a night mode on the Motorola Droid. I find the phone screen to be very bright at night. I am thinking about something like the GPS do, White backgrounds during the day, black at night etc etc. Any ideas on how to do this? I have lowered the brightness all the way down but that is still too bright.
View 4 Replies View RelatedYes this could be old news but listen. My D1 will not go into night mode w navigation app when I am in the tab of navigation. It has been written that it is supposed to go into night mode in the navigation "tab" not map "tab", but it's not.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having this issue with my tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1). During night when I sleep sometimes it drains about 30% of my battery. Now, I noticed that in the up and download icon the upload icon is almost ALWAYS on. Meaning that it is uploading something that I did not gave any permissions for, which is rather annoying. The wifi isn't working good as well, as in not receiving messages or able to view websites, it used to work fine tho.. These kinda things are the reason why I hate Android an regret buying 2 tablets and a phone of it. Anyways before y'all mention, this is what I've done so far:
-I'm NOT running any apps on the background.
-There's no facebook or any social media apps. Just Whatsapp. (those are the only allowed for background purposes).
-I've reset the router.
-I've rebooted the Android device.
The device is NOT rooted or anything and is barely 6 months old. Additionally, I DON'T have this uploading or wifi problem with my iPad, iPhone or BlackBerry's. My other Android tablet has wifi issues as well. Also Android seems so slow and buggy..? Compared to my iPad, or Ancient BlackBerry for that matter.
On my old BB when the phone was off/died during the night, it would turn on and go off if the alarm was set.It doesn't seem like the INC does that. Is there an app or something that will turn the phone on so the alarm goes off if somehow the phone shuts down? I use my phone as my alarm every morning, and I need it to go off, even if the phone is off/battery dies during the night.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhat is keeping my phone awake through the night and hence draining my battery rapidly. I am going to post screenshots and BetterBatteryStats dump file to make it as clear as possible.
Basically, what I see is that the phone was mostly awake at night and was in deep sleep only for about 1 hour. I don't think it is normal.
Do the apps get stored on the internal SD card on the phone? Or on the section where it says Internal phone storage?

View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I got my phone a week ago or so and it just now started having problems with the GPS and randomly shutting off as well as the battery life being drained within a couple of hours from fully charged. Im guessing I should exchange my phone for a new one within my warranty period. Do I need to bring the original box and everything along with it to exchange it?
