I want to get the Information of the Music track playing on a android device?
Is there any android powered api available for this?
Or do I have to write a plugin for respective android media players?

I have followed the steps to create my media player object but I cant understand why it is not playing the music track. I used the following code...
but no sound is playing through the emulator, and furthermore when i check the method mp.isPlaying() it returns false. What have I missed?
I have a bunch of MP3s on a windows PC shared over wifi LAN.
I want to use a old android device to plug into speakers in another room and access the shared files, search/filter and queue, play songs on the phone.
I know I could run a shoutcast server and just queue up songs on the pc but I would love to be able to use some sort of app that can scan all the shares and create a database that can be easily filtered/searched on the phone.
I just got my moment on Saturday and I noticed that when I am using it a lot like browsing the web or playing music it's get hot. Is this normal?

View 8 Replies View RelatedMy program is targeting Android 1.5. I would like to retrieve system information about the device itself. I have found very few helpful classes by searching the APIs. the best I've found so far is the Runtime class and a few Build.* system properties.
I would like to be able to get information like the total amount of memory on the device, the amount of free memory (which I do not know if the Runtime class is actually giving me, since it specifically refers to memory available to the JVM) along with information about the processor.
Is this information available, and if so, where can I find it?
My Hero did something odd today, it turned itself off and didn't want to turn back on again (wasn't doing anything on it either). Took out the battery, put back in and all was good. No loss of contacts etc.

I had been thinking about using pwdhash for firefox then I could keep my info between the desktop and laptop, still does not help with the android though.
Are there any apps out yet that will keep track of your music library? I'm looking for something that pairs with the phone and a PC app that will keep track of how many times a play song and sync between the two and such. Sorta like Ipod software is an extension of the Itunes library. I realize that Itunes doesn't sync with the phone like that, nor the phone keeps track of such things.

The only problem is that I am using 'My Music' and when cue finishes (say a gunshot) the next begins (say a fog horn). This is very problematic

After transferring a few audiobooks on my Droid I have encountered a problem- each book is about 15 hundred tracks, all marked with consequential track numbers-get converted inside the droid player into several "disks" all having the name of the book, it is impossible to know which one should be first or organize playing them in order. Several of my music tracks had unicode characters- all do not display correctly. good alternative player or way to make default player work properly?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was playing some music today while doing some yardwork and i noticed it was stuttering at the beginning of just about every track it played. I listened to about 12-14 songs and it stuttered in the beginning on about 8 of them, somtimes it would also stutter a few seconds after that but would be fine after that until it went to the next song. Anyone else have this issue? I've got all the apps closed with advanced task manager, so nothing is running and eating up the processor or memory. Any ideas what would cause this or a remedy for it? Any help is appreciated.

All the tracks in the folders on my SD card have track numbers, copied from the PC folders. This means that when I play an album on my PC it plays in the track order; essential for symphonies!
However in the Desire Music player tracks are sorted alphabetically; Astro shows me that the track numbers are there as part of the file name. I do not wish to created over 100 playlists.
Is there a way to get the Music player to sort tracks by track order?
Is there a one touch way of getting a track to stop playing completely? Am I missing something?
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I am listening to the music app, or btunes, or mix zing; about one in four times I turn the screen off, the music stops playing. I've tried turning of my task killer, but to no avail. At first, I had a second issue as well: the music would play for only about 15 mins then stop, however, I managed to figure out that that was the 'Data-Off' timer I had set for the battery's 'Smart Mode' (though I'm not sure what data has to do with playing music stored locally). Nevertheless, swapping to 'Performance Mode' solved that. But for the life of me, I cannot figure out why a quarter of the time I turn the screen off, it kills the music.

It would be nice if my application just could use the default Music player, instead of implement a new player.
So far the only solution I can find is this this link here: http://www.alexc.me/android-music-app-service-currently-playing-song/... ,but this is not a nice way to do it. It will only work with phones that use exactly same version of the interface file IMediaPlaybackService.aidl

Is there a way to change it so even though its sleeping it'll still play? I'm going on a long trip soon and I don't want to have to take my iPod too.. View 4 Replies View RelatedI am really happy with my Droid Eris, but there is one exception. I listen to Pandora on my phone almost daily at work. I have a radio that has an audio input so I connect my phone and play it through the radio. The problem is when someone calls me. I usually don't answer and call them right back from the work line, but sometimes, like today, I get frustrated and I want to answer the cell. First, if I don't disconnect the headphone jack the person calling cannot hear me. Second, if I disconnect it and take the call as soon as the call disconnects the music starts and it is usually blaring! This happened today and I was so embarrassed when the song 'Broken Wings' by Mr. Mister went blaring and about 30 people could hear it and the phone was not responding to turn it off! I really hope someone can help me with this issue.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm the proud owner of a month old Droid 2, but the damn thing keeps freezing or locks up completely when I play my music on it - sometimes it even restarts on its own. It doesn't matter if I'm playing my own MP3's or Pandora. While at work this happens maybe 3 to 5 times a day (docked to a desk/home charger from Verizon) and it's really frustrating. I noticed this started happening once my phone updated to 2.2.20 a few weeks ago. Just this past weekend I took it to my local Verizon dealer. They said they updated the PRL and this often corrects the problem. I got the phone home and it locked up immediately. I've restarted repeatedly, removed the SD card and battery but still no change. Any suggestions? This will be my fourth replacement if I need to take it back and have it replaced.
