View 1 RepliesSo I got the info for my school email today and it is @my.mcphs.edu "powered by google".I tried setting up email via imap but it did not work. Is there a specific port, server I have to choose?Does it matter that it is powered by google?
View 6 Replies View RelatedOn my Droid X, I was able to add my CSUF (@csu.fullerton.edu) email by the following process: 1. Add existing Google account, 2. Menu button -> Browser sign-in, 3. Enter my email address and then select a Google Apps link near the bottom of the page, 4. sign in with my school info, 5. ta-dah! The problem I'm having is that I don't see a similar Google Apps link in the Jelly Bean version from step 3. I've tried a variety of combinations of signing in, without it, but I end up with failure every time. I was just receiving school emails today, on my previous phone, so I'm pretty darn sure it's just an issue with the new setup system.
I'm aware that I can set it all up through the other Email app, but I really prefer having it through Gmail.
I have now successfully added my CSUF email as an existing Google account, by following these steps...
1. Add Existing Google account
2. Don't enter any info, as one normally would to register a gmail account, and instead press the Menu button and select Browser sign-in.
3. On the following screen, enter the email only and press sign in.
4. For me, here it took me to the CSUF sign-in page and I did so.
5. I actually browsed the site a bit, from there, which leads me to believe that if your sign-in is failing by all of these other steps, the missing factor may be spending enough time signed in through the browser.
6. I pushed the back button until I was greeted with the "Signing In" message.
I've done this before, and it only exited me back out to where I could enter my email and password for an existing account, so as mentioned, success might be due to spending enough time signed in for the connection to register.
I'd like to confirm if those are apps built by Google for GDoc (Google Documents) GTask (Google Task)Any apps for integrating with Google Picasa? If you know any other Google apps,

My phone dropped from my pocket into the toilet. It was in there for no longer than 5 seconds. I took out the battery and tried to dry everything off. In a panic I turned it back on to see if it would work. I wasn't thinking at all. It started to turn on, then the screen flickered and everything went black. I dried it out properly and it still won't turn on. I've plugged it into the charger, nothing. Is my phone now useless? My mom says will not buy me another phone until the contract is up, in over a year. Is there anything I can do? Or did I completely screw myself?
If my phone is gone, can I still save my contacts and/or pictures?
Just getting the hang of this Motorola droid. Was doing something funky so I powered it down and then back up. I have this dos looking screen that says...

Today I dropped my HTC Hero on the ground from less than a foot above and when it dropped it turned off so I went to turn it back on and after multiple tries finally got it to the hold screen. When I went to pull down the hold screen to go to the home screen it went to the screen when you're turning it on that says "hTc". I immediately hit end and it goes back to the hold screen then when I pull it down it again it says that some of the applications, which I assume by their name is part of the phone processing, isn't working so I have to force it close. The weird thing is I still get my emails and texts and when a phone call comes in it says the Android application isn't working. Anybody know what is going on here?

Most of the callers complain that my number is switched off but I never power off my handset. I tried with another number and observed the same while my HTC Desire was in front of me and powered on. At times it does connect but most of the time not. I have full bars. I was using HTC Touch Pro2 earlier at the same location for at least 10 months now. Had no issues with network. Got my HTC desire 3 days ago and have this problem ever since.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI use Google hosted apps with my own domain for e-mail, calendar, chat, etc. and I use the e-mail address from that with my main Google account as well. So, both my Google account and hosted apps account use the same address. I had no problem setting up my account on my phone when I got it Friday, but I've been running into a few issues. First off, every time I try to buy an app in the Market, it asks me to set up a Google account to associate it with, even though I already have. Also, when I try to use Google Listen, it asks the same thing. Is there a way around this, or will I have to create a separate Google/GMail account?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there was an app or indeed if the Desire has the ability to transmit a low powered signal on FM?
You know how some Nokia phones can transmit a weak signal on FM so that if you are playing an mp3 or listening to an Internet stream on your phone you can pick it up on your car stereo and listen through that.
I've never understood the appeal of Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, etc. Google Buzz caught my interest only because it appears in things I already use on my Droid - Google Maps and Google Reader (via the browser). In Google Reader I can clearly see who I'm logged in as - the name appears at the bottom of the screen; it's my Google Account. I assume this works via a cookie in the browser. The only account I have setup on my phone itself is my Google Apps account, and the email address for this account is different than that of my Google Account. While out sledding with my kids today, I felt the urge to buzz, and attach a picture. I couldn't see how to do that through the browser interface, so I opened Google Maps. It appears that I can post to Buzz in Google Maps, and even attach a picture. The only problem is that I can't see any buzz other than my own via Google Maps, but I can see more buzz via the browser, but none of what I posted.I think somehow Google Maps is using my Google Apps account for Buzz, but it's not actually working. Anyone have a clue as to what's going on here?

is this possible at all?
My Hero did something odd today, it turned itself off and didn't want to turn back on again (wasn't doing anything on it either). Took out the battery, put back in and all was good. No loss of contacts etc.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI turn my Ally off for the night, plug it in to recharge & it turns itself back on. So, I turn it off again &, back on it comes! I want the thing off so it does not make any alert-noises and bother those within earshot. I suppose I could put it on Silent, but, come-on! This should be an allowed thing to do to a phone. Why in hell would it ever be set up to come back on when I deliberately just turned it off!
Note: "Stay Awake" under "Development" is not checked.
I just powered my phone off while it was connected to my charger? And it stayed off. I'll test some more to make sure this is the case.

Is anyone aware of a listing of apps that require Android 2.1 to run (e.g. apps like Google Goggles, etc.)? I've searched the threads here at Android Forums and elsewhere and haven't been able to find such a list or site.
Now that I upgraded to 2.1, I'd like to "see what I've been missing" and take advantage of the new OS.
My Incredible rings when there's a visible screen. When the screen darkens and phone enters sleep after, in my case 1 minute of non-use, any calls coming in do not ring through. Voicemail picks them up but there is no indication that I have an incoming call unless I wake the phone up and check the upper left hand menu for the voicemail icon. This can't be set up right. When the phone is asleep (dark screen) but not powered off, there has got to be a setting that lets calls ring through and awaken the phone so it can be answered.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm planning to get a Bluetooth headset for use with my Eris. I don't really have any experience with a headset so I have a question about how it works:
I would like to leave the headset powered on and when I receive a call, either answer it from the headset or from the Eris depending on where I am/what I'm doing etc. Is this possible? Or if the headset is on will I always have to answer the call from there? I believe that I've heard that this is the way headsets work but I was hoping that I might be able to choose my answer "mode".
