If the BACK button is pressed when the soft keyboard is being displayed, no Back keycode event is generated (when it's not shown, and Back is pressed, then my View's onKeyDown()/onKeyUp() methods get called back).
Is this expected behaviour? I'm trying to catch when the IME is hidden upon BACK being pressed. I'm currently working around this in the endBatchEdit() method (I'm implementing BaseInputConnection).
I'm trying to unroot my unrevoked-rooted EVO so that I can return it to Sprint.I was able to get the bootloader to go back to "ON" but I am having difficulty getting the PC36IMG file to download.I have been getting the message "Installation aborted." What do you think is the matter?

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy phone dropped from my pocket into the toilet. It was in there for no longer than 5 seconds. I took out the battery and tried to dry everything off. In a panic I turned it back on to see if it would work. I wasn't thinking at all. It started to turn on, then the screen flickered and everything went black. I dried it out properly and it still won't turn on. I've plugged it into the charger, nothing. Is my phone now useless? My mom says will not buy me another phone until the contract is up, in over a year. Is there anything I can do? Or did I completely screw myself?
If my phone is gone, can I still save my contacts and/or pictures?
Today I dropped my HTC Hero on the ground from less than a foot above and when it dropped it turned off so I went to turn it back on and after multiple tries finally got it to the hold screen. When I went to pull down the hold screen to go to the home screen it went to the screen when you're turning it on that says "hTc". I immediately hit end and it goes back to the hold screen then when I pull it down it again it says that some of the applications, which I assume by their name is part of the phone processing, isn't working so I have to force it close. The weird thing is I still get my emails and texts and when a phone call comes in it says the Android application isn't working. Anybody know what is going on here?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm sure there is a thread for this but i can't seem to find it but does anyone know if you can keep the droid powered off while charging it? i have the dock and every time i shut down the droid and put it on the dock or plug in the micro usb the droid powers back on.
is this possible at all?
I turn my Ally off for the night, plug it in to recharge & it turns itself back on. So, I turn it off again &, back on it comes! I want the thing off so it does not make any alert-noises and bother those within earshot. I suppose I could put it on Silent, but, come-on! This should be an allowed thing to do to a phone. Why in hell would it ever be set up to come back on when I deliberately just turned it off!
Note: "Stay Awake" under "Development" is not checked.
I just powered my phone off while it was connected to my charger? And it stayed off. I'll test some more to make sure this is the case.

When the screen darkens and phone enters sleep after, in my case 1 minute of non-use, any calls coming in do not ring through. Voicemail picks them up but there is no indication that I have an incoming call unless I wake the phone up and check the upper left hand menu for the voicemail icon. This can't be set up right. When the phone is asleep (dark screen) but not powered off, there has got to be a setting that lets calls ring through and awaken the phone so it can be answered.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI originally rooted my phone with Unrevoked before Froyo came out(can't recall the version). Once froyo came out, I backed up the phone with clockwork, then flashed over Netarchy's stock rooted froyo(backed up afterwards too). Today I went to the link on the unrevoked twitter page and flashed 3.29 to my phone. I flashed it using the update from SD card option in clockwork. Here's the issue. Afterward my phone rebooted and will not go past the bootloader screen. I'm thinking no biggie, I'll just go back into recovery and load a backup or an older working rom. Well there is no recovery. All I get is the phone with a red triangle. So I'm freaked out and thought, well lets just go back to the stock RUU. Well thats getting an bootloader version error. WHere can I go from here? is there a way for me to get those backups I made loaded from the bootloader screen?

I cannot because when I hold power and x it goes into the sprecovery/nandroid back up with the Android guy with a ! on him.

It had options like "bootloader" and "power down" on it so I used the rocker bar to scroll and get out of it by powering down. My question is this: Someone I know was talking about spyware that can be put on laptops and computers and now this happened when they were around. I had cyan 5.0.4. - I wiped and flashed to 5.0.5 and now i cannot get past the boot.
I've tried booting back into recovery and wiping and doing a nandroid recovery to 'amon's recovery 1.7.0' but to no avail.
So I made the mistake of attempting to root my new HTC one V without knowing what I was doing. I currently can't get past the bootloader screen. I've attempted installing the RUU for my phone with no success. I've resorted to extracting the rom.zip from the RUU, renaming it PK76IMG.zip (required for hboot to recognize it) and putting it on my sd card. Everything works fine up until the end when it says "hboot version is older! Update failed"

I'm new to smartphones in general and wanted to root my Evo so that I could get rid of that annoying bloatware and maybe find some cool functionality.I'm new to forums too, but I did dig through a ton before I posted this and didn't see a solution to my problem.I used unrevoked 3 to root the phone. Worked fine. Tried to install Fresh through Rom Manager, but couldn't get it to flash by installing from sd card. Sort of abandoned that and moved on to Bugless Beast. I downloaded that to my computer transferred to my phone and tried "install from sd card" again. No luck, it just gave me the startup screen "htc evo 4g" and stayed on.I used nandroid to restore to my previous settings with no problem. I decided to partition the hardrive and try to flash bugless beast again. This would have been fine, but I didn't realize that partitioning removed the clockwise back up file.So, now I don't have anything to restore back to and it is stuck on the "htc evo 4g" screen.I can still get into the hboot, so its not a total loss yet.

Steps which i followed to install 4.3 manually is:
1. fastboot erase boot
2. fastboot erase cache
3. fastboot erase recovery
4. fastboot erase system
5. fastboot erase userdata
6. fastboot flash bootloader <bootloader_filename_.img>
7. fastboot reboot bootloader
8. fastboot flash radio <radio_filename_.img>
9. fastboot reboot bootloader
10. fastboot -w update <Rom_filename_.img>
Step 1-9 executed successfully but at step 10 while writing system.img installation got stuck and i waited for 40 mins but nothing happened
Repeated above step 3 times. Need to recovery my nexus 4 to its normal state

At times when I am browsing through my apps in the applications window, the phone suddenly goes back to the home screen after about 10-15 secs of inactivity. It vibrates a little bit as if the back button is being pressed. I am 100% sure I am not pressing the back button.
Other times, when I start up an app (gmail, facebook, internet, music player, etc) it goes back after about 10 secs of inactivity. It seems to always want to go back to the home screen and it will keep going back till it arrives at the home screen.
I just got my phone two days ago and haven't done anything much on the phone yet.
I thought i broke my phone but it just turned on and I have a screen that says the following Battery OK, OK to Program, Transfer Mode: USB
View 16 Replies View RelatedAfter the update when i hit the phone icon, the "favorites" icon used to be at the bottom right after the green call tab. now there is an icon for call history.
i cannot for the life of me get it back. verizon says it was lost after the upgrade. i put the "people" icon on my now when i need to call a friend who is on my "favorite" list, i hit that icon, it brings me to all contacts and at the bottom i then have to depress favorites which brings up groups, then hit favorites. like 4 steps to make a phone call?
anybody figure out how to get the favorite icon back on the phone screen?
Browser keeps exiting, but I've only noticed it when I visit a certain page. Nothing comes up as in a force closing it just goes back to my phones home screen. I've tried clearing cache and that didn't work. Its really annoying, & I don't want to have to download another browser thats a last resort for me.
