So I got the info for my school email today and it is @my.mcphs.edu "powered by google".I tried setting up email via imap but it did not work. Is there a specific port, server I have to choose?Does it matter that it is powered by google?

I searched first but couldn't find anything. I have all my email accounts set up on my Droid X but I can't figure out how to get my school account on there too. It is myname@students.mycollege.edu and it is an outlook account so I don't know how to enter it for it to work right.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOn my Droid X, I was able to add my CSUF (@csu.fullerton.edu) email by the following process: 1. Add existing Google account, 2. Menu button -> Browser sign-in, 3. Enter my email address and then select a Google Apps link near the bottom of the page, 4. sign in with my school info, 5. ta-dah! The problem I'm having is that I don't see a similar Google Apps link in the Jelly Bean version from step 3. I've tried a variety of combinations of signing in, without it, but I end up with failure every time. I was just receiving school emails today, on my previous phone, so I'm pretty darn sure it's just an issue with the new setup system.
I'm aware that I can set it all up through the other Email app, but I really prefer having it through Gmail.
I have now successfully added my CSUF email as an existing Google account, by following these steps...
1. Add Existing Google account
2. Don't enter any info, as one normally would to register a gmail account, and instead press the Menu button and select Browser sign-in.
3. On the following screen, enter the email only and press sign in.
4. For me, here it took me to the CSUF sign-in page and I did so.
5. I actually browsed the site a bit, from there, which leads me to believe that if your sign-in is failing by all of these other steps, the missing factor may be spending enough time signed in through the browser.
6. I pushed the back button until I was greeted with the "Signing In" message.
I've done this before, and it only exited me back out to where I could enter my email and password for an existing account, so as mentioned, success might be due to spending enough time signed in for the connection to register.
Does anyone know exactly what info I need to set up a school email address? I go to Centenary College and they use Microsoft Office Outlook Web Access.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI know Android uses two email clients but I assume the Gmail client has the best integration and functionality (please correct me if I'm wrong). My school uses an email system that's based off of Gmail with my address being example@fiu.edu. The calendar is also the same. Here's a link of what the log-in looks like:

I am trying to link my school email account with my Eris and it wont let me. I got all the settings entered correctly, but it says it cant verify the account and to try again? And advice or suggestions? My blackberry I had before the Eris linked it up no problem.. Ive got to figure this out! Please verify your username and password."I have tried using the settings that google has on the website and the school doesn't have anything about setting up an email on a phone ( any phone).I tried changing the server to imap.grcc.edu and I had to confirm the certificate but then it gave the error again. I also tried taking the @email.grcc.edu from the username and that didn't work either. I am really frustrated right now. And no, I do not want to forward it to my other email. I like to keep my school and personal emails separate. Sorry if I sound a bit mean but I know that's what some of you will ask me.

is this possible at all?
I just powered my phone off while it was connected to my charger? And it stayed off. I'll test some more to make sure this is the case.

Can i use the wifi tether after connecting to school internet and then connect my laptop to the droidx? will the speeds be comparable to me just connecting straight to wifi? and is there any ways that the p2p filter still might catch me or will this method work? i guess i'll try it anyways and play dumb if i get kicked off my saying "oh, someone must have connected through my phone's wifi tether app"

View 11 Replies View RelatedHaving serious issues setting up Google Apps corporate email on my DX. POP and SMTP settings, email add, password all checked and rechecked for accuracy. Still no dice. Am being told by Google Apps support that I need to hard reset the device, setup corporate Google Apps email first, and then reinstall and re-setup everything else. This seems like a hail mary approach to me, and one that I'm still not sure is going to work.

The Droid X only gives me the option of "use secure connection". The thing is, I got it to work as a regular email account last night, but then it stopped working. We have one ATT account through yahoo, and the google apps account from our private website. I tried setting it up as a gmail account since the settings are the same, but get the error "cannot establish a reliable data connection to the server."

Since it is a violation for students to have there cell phones in class. Some student entered my wifes desk and took my daughters htc droid. The school was no help,the police was no help. I would like to leave the headset powered on and when I receive a call, either answer it from the headset or from the Eris depending on where I am/what I'm doing etc. Is this possible? Or if the headset is on will I always have to answer the call from there? I believe that I've heard that this is the way headsets work but I was hoping that I might be able to choose my answer "mode".
I just got the Droid Eris yesterday and I was setting up my gmail accounts. I noticed that the only way to view my school gmail account was through the gmail app, however I can view my personal gmail account with the mail app on my home screen. I have tried to select my ASU gmail account for that app but it doesn't give me an option to show it. Is there any way to add that account to the mail viewer?

I have searched and haven't been able to find any threads with one of my issues, so I apologize in advance if I missed one. Anyways, my DX has been working flawlessly since I got it back on 10/6. Sunday, 10/31, my DX quit syncing just my corporate Exchange 2003 emails, then yesterday it started not sending emails as well and now, this morning, it quit syncing my personal email. Corporate email will sync manually, just not push. I have rebooted several times, pulled the battery several times, and also deleted both my Exchange account and my personal account and re-added both and the problem still persists. I don't have any task killer apps installed and haven't recently added any apps since the issues started. Anyone have an idea what may be causing the lack of push (in and out) on both of my accounts?

Well, i have putted to be notified in 1 hour if i have new emails the problem is the phone didn't check the emails and didn't have the notifications. only if i enter on the "Mail" application i have the new emails.. if i didn't enter, this didn't check the emails. What is the problem?. I have APN droid installed and i have deactivated the 3g 2g gaps. But i have configuration the WIFI to stay connected always.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just pulled the battery to do a reset last night after a lockup and today I'm getting notifications everytime I get a new email. it never used to do this and i figured it was just cause I didn't use the gmail. now I'm thinking that it just might be one of the background tasks that I was always killing. I recently switched to home++ and I didn't use the built in task killer all day. so I guess my question is, does anyone know which background task would control this so I don't kill it? also, is there a place to go in the settings to change the led color for email alerts?

I have added both the sender and the senders domain to the list using Windows Live Mail Beta. These emails are still getting through to my Droid X. First, there are no option on the phone to block emails is there? And secondly, there is not an option to add emails to any junk folder on the phone either that I have found. Anyone else having this problem? I've tried both adding my email accounts through Corporate (for hotmail/msn) and the email option on the phone.
