Is there anyway to make the incredible stop notifications for new email and sms messages without stopping it from ringing? I am a new user and am used to the blackberry setup that would vibrate those notifications in the holder but still allow the phone to ring. I figure there has to be an app for this but can't find it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI miss my Blackberry choices for notification, in particular, phone only. A quick one press button for ring, vibrate, ring phone only, silent. I use profile and find it a little too in depth. I want something simple. I also think there may be a gremlin or two as I have found my settings changed without my doing anything.

I would want to reach up and answer the phone and use the phones speaker mode for talking or can be easily removed. Something basically like the bluetooth speakers they have for visors. View 36 Replies View RelatedMy desire will not always ring the sms ring notifier when i recieve texts, it annoyed me so much that i decided to do a warranty swap, and the new one does the same thing!is this a standard android thing? it seems to me that if i have recieved or sent a text to somebody within 30 minutes, it will not ring, as though it expects me to be hovering over my phone staring at it for a reply, is this a normal issue? and is there a way to fix it?

I've been looking for a solution for using my Desire for GPS tracking on my mountain bike for a while now and ideally I'd like an armband holder of some sort. Problem is, all the ones I've seen are basically clear cases that advertise the fact you have an expensive phone on your arm. I don't really want a handlebar mount cos my riding gets pretty rough so is there something that isn't either of these that anyone has found?

Doesn't help much when I am at home and can't find my phone. Is there an app to find my phone using my PC? Like, send an email? Or maybe there is an app for my PC that sends an SMS? I can't find that either.

View 8 Replies View RelatedFirstly just wanted to say how useful this forum has been in keeping up to date with all the latest goings on for my HTC Hero (well, T-Mobile G2 in my case). Anyway. I'm having some problems with the speaker on my phone, the one you hold to your ear, rather than the one that plays music, loud speaker etc. I think I've found a solution, so wanted to share that with you guys, but also find out if anyone else has had a similar problem.
My phone has started crackling a lot when making calls. Other people can hear me fine, but their voice seems to crackle and fizz if it gets too loud. If I turn the volume up on my phone it gets even worse. At first I thought it was a blown speaker or something, but looking at the sim card holder, it seems to be that that's causing a rattle, it gets vibrated when the sound comes through the speaker. When I tap the back of my phone, gently!, it makes a slight rattling sound. I can eliminate the problem entirely by taking the back off the phone and firmly holding the top of the battery, thus stopping the sim card holder rattling around. However this isn't an ideal solution for everyday use!
I just recieved my hero today and I love it except when I get a text or call it only vibrates, even when the ringer is on full volume. I went to Settings>Ringtone> and everytime I changed my ringtone, it WOULD NOT sample the tone even when the media and ringtone volume was FULL!

Every time I am in either of the above apps, my phone does not ring. Is this common. I just had Sprint walk me though a complete reboot of my phone and it still does not ring when in the mentioned apps. When I go to espn.com and surf there website, my phone will get "kicked" out of the website and start ringing.

I have made ring tones & placed them in the appropriate folders. Sometimes when I receive a phone call, the only way I know it is because my bluetooth will beep in my ear. The phone lights up & caller id kicks in but I get no sound & no vibrate. I can call the phone & actually see the symbol for "silent mode" pop up & disappear when the phone rings. I then have to go to the Sound & Display tab & re-choose the ring tone I already have selected from the list to get audible ring tones. Can anyone shed light into this?
Also sometimes my personalized ring tones for contacts will not play, or more like play the 1st time they call & play the default ring tone the 2nd time they call.

It sends the caller directly to voicemail without even ringing on their end. I have only had the phone for 4 days after switching from a Blackberry Curve. I went back and forth trying to decide if I wanted the Moment or the Tour. I chose the Moment but if the phone will not ring while I am surfing the Internet...it really is not going to work out.
View 8 Replies View Relatedso we just got the Eris for my gf (I have a rooted droid) and she's loving the phone, but is def a BIG adjustment from the blackberry. The biggest problem that we are having is that the phone will not ring until about the 3rd or 4th ringtone, which by the 6th or so, it goes to VM anyways.... so If I call her (or anyone) I'll hear the calling tone from my end, and on the 4th one or so, finally her phone will ring, but you have about 5 seconds then it goes to voice mail... can anyone help me with this? if it matters, I do have google voice setup with gvoice as the stock vmail... I don't remember if it was doing that before this

I don't even have the vibe turned on, but still it vibes, and does NOT ring. I'd like the vibe & ring (both) option. But would be happy with just the ring too.or have the choice to change when I want.I used to have a very old MOTO Razr, which have PROFILE setting for: Meeting, Outdoor, Silent, Vibe, Normal, etc. I'm surprised The Hi-tech Droid X has nothing like that.
