HTC Desire :: Not Always Ring Sms Ring Notifier When Recieve Texts

My desire will not always ring the sms ring notifier when i recieve texts, it annoyed me so much that i decided to do a warranty swap, and the new one does the same thing!is this a standard android thing? it seems to me that if i have recieved or sent a text to somebody within 30 minutes, it will not ring, as though it expects me to be hovering over my phone staring at it for a reply, is this a normal issue? and is there a way to fix it?

I miss my Blackberry choices for notification, in particular, phone only. A quick one press button for ring, vibrate, ring phone only, silent. I use profile and find it a little too in depth. I want something simple. I also think there may be a gremlin or two as I have found my settings changed without my doing anything.

Buyed a samsung galaxy s a couple days ago
and had no peoblems woth it except today
noticed then when somebody calls me rhe
phone rings quietly at first and then rongs
normal, the sound gradualy increases from small
volume to gighter , how can i .make it ring loudly
from the start ?

I'm new to Droid and the interface but am hoping I'm just missing something obvious. How do I make my DroidX vibrate for text messages but, at the same time, ring for calls? At work, I want to know about calls but texts can typically wait.

I'm using my new HTC Desire and I have encountered a rather frustrating issue. I have tried searching everywhere but can't find anything that can help me yet. I have found that whenever the phone is charging, the phone is completely mute and will not ring. Likewise, any sms's will go unnoticed as no ring tones/ alerts sound. The phone still operates like normal while charging and will retrieve calls, it's just the phone stays completely silent

i have an htc desire, and when i tap the power button to put my phone to sleep mode, or power saving mode, it wont ring or make a sound when i receieve a text message.how do i solve that?

Got my Desire 3 days ago now and everything has been working well. I bought it on contract from orange so when I received the phone I gave them the PAC code so that I could keep my old o2 phone number. That change took effect today and ever since my mobile internet hasn't been working. Would this be a problem with the phone itself or do I need to give orange a ring when I get a chance?

I have the desire for about 3 months now and i m loving it. however, what irritates me is that every time when a sms is received, the phone only vibrates once, while the ring tone still goes on. i have tried the smart vibrate app. although it can set the length of the vibrate but it will still vibrate even if i have read the sms. any one can recommend any better apps? also it seems to take a long time to power off my phone. is it due to running apps? but i have killed the apps b4 i shut down....

Have the phone. Went through all the fun of finding my own prefered ring tone - well I made it from a song, and another ring tone for other uses.
Set them up, set the "Message" tone, set the alarm tone and all was good.
It wasn't long after that I bought a SANDISC8 gig SD card.
Coppied ALL files over and swapped the cards.
I am not sure exactly WHEN the problem started, but it still exists.
Now and then the phone is in my pocket and it starts making a sound. It isn't one I selected, so ignore it until it becomes obvious it is mine as no-one else is talking on their phone.
I look and it is a message/phone call/alarm.
They are NOT the ones I set. So I go through the process of seting them back to what I like.
Someone says it could be a dicky SD card. I shall test that soon by putting back the original one and seeing what happens. The only problem with that is that it is SO INTERMITANT that it is hard to know if it is or not really the problem.

Ive only had one problem with my evo so far. while disconnected from the 4g network, an running on the 3G, i am unable to access the internet at all. i can still recieve Txts and calls, but no internet. anyone else have this problem?

I just got this app for my x and fascinate. it's amazing. when connected to wifi, my computer notifies me of my texts, calls, low battery, etc. it is great when i am working, and i even love it when i am at home, as my entertainment center is controlled by a PC. check it out. best app all week. i am certain this belongs in another part of the forum, but i really only browse the x and fascinate sections, and i know a lot of you just stay around here too, and i thought you all might find it really useful.

So as of a few weeks ago, my droid does something kind of strange and annoying. Usually happens every couple days or so..
Basically it seems like its lost service all together.. it doesnt recieve any texts, and everytime i try to send one it says "cannot send." Once i see it do this a few times i turn it off, then back on and my phone is flooded w/ texts that i hadn't recieved since it started doing the whole thing.
Its almost as if my phone loses service for an hour+ then when i turn it off/on again it gets its service back and recieves all the texts ive missed... this is starting to get really old..

I have been so annoyed with the amount of ring lag on my hero since i bought it. For people with the EVO does this phone have any lag. What that means is when a person calls you, how many times do they hear the ring before your evo wakes up and starts ringing?The Hero has made me miss so many call because of this.

Every time I switch out the batteries. I have about 20 ring tones assigned to various people and when I switch out batteries (I'm trying the whole external charger routine), I have to reassign them.

I just recieved my hero today and I love it except when I get a text or call it only vibrates, even when the ringer is on full volume. I went to Settings>Ringtone> and everytime I changed my ringtone, it WOULD NOT sample the tone even when the media and ringtone volume was FULL!

Does anybody have any issues with there Evo not ringing when they are in the Facebook App or in the Wordfeud game. Every time I am in either of the above apps, my phone does not ring. Is this common. I just had Sprint walk me though a complete reboot of my phone and it still does not ring when in the mentioned apps. When I go to espn.com and surf there website, my phone will get "kicked" out of the website and start ringing.

I've noticed that when I have my bluetooth headset connected to my phone, the headset rings when someone calls but the phone doesn't. Is there a way I can make them both ring in case I'm not wearing my headset?

I would set my HTC Wildfire to ring only once (or twice) for incoming calls. Even old Nokia phone have advance settings to do this but not Android phone. Is there a free app allowing to do this kind of advanced settings?

I was a BB user before I switched to the EVO. I am really digging the EVO and Andriod. Loving the fact the I can finally go on the internet on my phone, but I am missing one feature from my BB. I was able to setup different ring tones for each of my 6 email accounts.
