HTC Desire :: Fritzed Facebook After LeeDrOid 2.2 Flash
Nov 24, 2010I reinstalled all my apps from Titanium after flashing Leedroid last night, but Facebook stopped working - the programme opened up ok but wouldn't update (I suspect I may have messed this up when I reinstalled everything) so I tried to uninstall Facebook via Titanium in the hope that I could reinstall from the market. But that hasn't worked as Facebook has disappeared from Titanium but remains on my phone, recognised in Market as "Installed" and still not working.I have found the Facebook app in the LeeDrOiD .zip file on my SD card via Astro (/mnt/sdcard/ LeeDrOiD_ v.2.2f_A2SD.zip/system/app/Facebook). When I select the Facebook file I get the "Application File" window up, showing "Browse File" and "Open App Manager" options. When I select "Open App Manager" I get two options: Uninstall or launch. If I uninstall from here, can I then reinstall from Market, or is it more complex than that?

Oct 19, 2010I just installed LeeDroid 2.2b on my Desire. When it starts, there's a screen that looks like a PC Bios screen that shows stuff being loaded. It plays R2D2 noises. That's followed by an ASCII Android picture and the LeeDroid logo. I'd like to remove all of that. Especially the R2D2 noises. I downloaded some boot animations and here's what I did:
- Created a folder called "local" in the "data" folder. (there was no "local" folder already, nor a "system/media").
- Dropped a bootanimation.zip into the "local" folder of the SD card, via USB (Windows). File was present on that folder.
- Rebooted
- Nothing happened.
Is it even possible to change LD's boot process? (I'm not sure if the BIOS screen is an animation or its actually calculating stuff, and will bork everything if removed). If Root Explorer, Android Mate or something like that works, great, as I'd prefer not to have to mess around with installing drivers and all that sdk stuff! But would they do anything different then I already did via USB, since I am able to place the file anywhere on the FAT32 partition? (Although if the boot file needs to be on the ext3 partition or otherwise outside fat32, that's another story.....). I wonder, has anyone succeeded at changing the boot process in LeeDroid?
HTC Desire :: Not Always Ring Sms Ring Notifier When Recieve Texts
Oct 3, 2010My desire will not always ring the sms ring notifier when i recieve texts, it annoyed me so much that i decided to do a warranty swap, and the new one does the same thing!is this a standard android thing? it seems to me that if i have recieved or sent a text to somebody within 30 minutes, it will not ring, as though it expects me to be hovering over my phone staring at it for a reply, is this a normal issue? and is there a way to fix it?

Jul 25, 2010I have the desire for about 3 months now and i m loving it. however, what irritates me is that every time when a sms is received, the phone only vibrates once, while the ring tone still goes on. i have tried the smart vibrate app. although it can set the length of the vibrate but it will still vibrate even if i have read the sms. any one can recommend any better apps? also it seems to take a long time to power off my phone. is it due to running apps? but i have killed the apps b4 i shut down....

1. Do I still have to press the power button to unlock the screen?
2. Why are all the downloaded apps not able to move to SD card (the Move to SD button appears shaded)
3. Is Task Killer necessary as it was before the upgrade?

Aug 23, 2010Disclaimer: I've started a new thread as I felt this was distinct enough from 2.2 feedback and different from a similar thread.I upgraded to 2.2 today, did it over my mobile H connection and it all worked fine, no problems to report.Got home and turned the wi-fi on and while it will see all the surround access points, included mine, it won't actually connect to mine. When I go right into the settings and look at what's happening it appears to be unable to get past 'Obtaining Address.Nothing has changed on my wireless setup from this morning when 2.1 connected fine.I've rebooted both the router and the phone and it still doesn't connect. All i've not done yet is a factory reset on the phone, but to be honest i'm loathe to do that unless it's completely necessary.Strangely the wi-fi hotspot feature on the phone is working fine.Can someone please help, this is a major issue for me.

If you brick your phone, invalidate your warranty or something else goes wrong then it's down to you. I've provided this procedure for information only. I've been asked by a couple of people for step by step instructions on how I debranded my Virgin Mobile branded HTC Desire and upgraded it to 2.2. From what I can remember I carried out these steps. I've used information collected form various threads on here and elsewhere. Use at your own risk!
It was essentially done in three steps: set up HTC Sync on my PC (Windows 7 64-bit), create the gold card and then update the firmware. You need to do a bit of preparation first - save any photos, etc that are currently on your phone onto your PC using the USB cable and the phone connected in disk drive mode. Make sure your phone is fully charged. Note down the serial number of your HTC Desire (remove battery and it's on the label or select Settings>About Phone>Phone Indentity). You'll need your serial number to download HTC Sync. Also enable USB Debugging in your HTC Desire by ticking the option under Settings > Application > Development (do this on your HTC Desire)...................

I have found that whenever the phone is charging, the phone is completely mute and will not ring. Likewise, any sms's will go unnoticed as no ring tones/ alerts sound. The phone still operates like normal while charging and will retrieve calls, it's just the phone stays completely silent

I bought it on contract from orange so when I received the phone I gave them the PAC code so that I could keep my old o2 phone number. That change took effect today and ever since my mobile internet hasn't been working. Would this be a problem with the phone itself or do I need to give orange a ring when I get a chance?

May 5, 2010I have searched before posting this thread so please forgive me if I missed it somewhere. I have a stock Moment running cl14. I have made ring tones & placed them in the appropriate folders. Sometimes when I receive a phone call, the only way I know it is because my bluetooth will beep in my ear. The phone lights up & caller id kicks in but I get no sound & no vibrate. I can call the phone & actually see the symbol for "silent mode" pop up & disappear when the phone rings. I then have to go to the Sound & Display tab & re-choose the ring tone I already have selected from the list to get audible ring tones. Can anyone shed light into this?
Also sometimes my personalized ring tones for contacts will not play, or more like play the 1st time they call & play the default ring tone the 2nd time they call.

It sends the caller directly to voicemail without even ringing on their end. I have only had the phone for 4 days after switching from a Blackberry Curve. Aug 1, 2010so we just got the Eris for my gf (I have a rooted droid) and she's loving the phone, but is def a BIG adjustment from the blackberry. The biggest problem that we are having is that the phone will not ring until about the 3rd or 4th ringtone, which by the 6th or so, it goes to VM anyways.... so If I call her (or anyone) I'll hear the calling tone from my end, and on the 4th one or so, finally her phone will ring, but you have about 5 seconds then it goes to voice mail... can anyone help me with this? if it matters, I do have google voice setup with gvoice as the stock vmail... I don't remember if it was doing that before this
