I'm looking for a car holder for my Hero that will plug into my car's lighter socket. Unfortunately windshield suction holders are not allowed in Minnesota.
Does anyone know where to find one or maybe post a link to one?

View 2 Replies View RelatedFirstly just wanted to say how useful this forum has been in keeping up to date with all the latest goings on for my HTC Hero (well, T-Mobile G2 in my case). Anyway. I'm having some problems with the speaker on my phone, the one you hold to your ear, rather than the one that plays music, loud speaker etc. I think I've found a solution, so wanted to share that with you guys, but also find out if anyone else has had a similar problem.
My phone has started crackling a lot when making calls. Other people can hear me fine, but their voice seems to crackle and fizz if it gets too loud. If I turn the volume up on my phone it gets even worse. At first I thought it was a blown speaker or something, but looking at the sim card holder, it seems to be that that's causing a rattle, it gets vibrated when the sound comes through the speaker. When I tap the back of my phone, gently!, it makes a slight rattling sound. I can eliminate the problem entirely by taking the back off the phone and firmly holding the top of the battery, thus stopping the sim card holder rattling around. However this isn't an ideal solution for everyday use!
I want to use my EVO as a replacement for a TomTom GPS unit I have when I'm on road trips. Does anyone make a car holder for the EVO with an integrated car charger?

I am a new user and am used to the blackberry setup that would vibrate those notifications in the holder but still allow the phone to ring. I figure there has to be an app for this but can't find it.

I would want to reach up and answer the phone and use the phones speaker mode for talking or can be easily removed. Something basically like the bluetooth speakers they have for visors. View 36 Replies View RelatedI have read a couple of threads that touched on this ring issue, but was unable to find any that had a solution or work around.Since the 2.1 update and the OTA update, many times when an incoming call comes, the phone doesn't ring. If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings.If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. Should I start to re-boot every day?

The only tome I had any frustrations was getting the clips unhooked also removing the cracked piece from the super strong adhesive. View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm moving over to Sprint.I'd rather not pay the $10 4G fee (or whatever you want to call that $10 fee), so I'll probably stick with a 3G phone.Is the Hero the best option? What I really need the phone to be able to do is voice calling, text, email, web browsing, etc. I'm not a power user, so I don't think I'd use the full power of the Evo anyway, so that's another reason to stick with the Hero.And if I understand correctly, I'd be eligible for upgrade pricing after 1yr with Sprint.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI rooted quite awhile back; I think it is Fresh 1.1.It worked fine.This morning it started spontaneously rebooting and is saying com.google.process.gapps. has stopped and all apps have forced close. At that point nothing works.I do have a Sprint contract to fix it but it has been rooted so I don't know what to do.

They activated the phones for us and than told us that it should only be 30 minutes before our phones were on but could take up to 24 hours. its been about 15-16 hours and was wondering if it takes everyone this long?

Problem is, all the ones I've seen are basically clear cases that advertise the fact you have an expensive phone on your arm. I don't really want a handlebar mount cos my riding gets pretty rough so is there something that isn't either of these that anyone has found?

I transferred contacts from my old phone (Samsung Instinct). One of the numbers was a voicemail for another location. On the Instinct you put in the numbers with a pause in the string which allowed you to delay entry of saved access codes until the right time. Is there a way to do this on the Hero?

View 7 Replies View Relatedafter installing 2.2 on my hero, everything was working fine, until now. im having problems with my text messages, they wont send under sprints network, if i put it in roaming then they send right away, but roaming has awefully slow (1x) network speeds, but if i put it back to the 3g network speeds of sprint then everytime i try to send a text it just swirls in circles (the little thing next to the message) and wont send. is this sprints network being down? or does this have to do with the 2.2 update?i dont think its sprint because my mom and sister arent having any problems with there phones from the same plan. but i tryed restarting many times, taking out and leaving out the battery, putting it in airplane mode and turning that back off to reset connection, iv tryed everything and cant get it to work, so idk what to do, and i dont understand why if it was a software problem with the 2.2 installation, why would they send in roaming but not on sprints network?
