But the problem i m facing is when i change the orientation, the previous playback disappears (if was playing) and the new surface view is getting created ..but the callback method surface created is not getting called in which i want to take further action.

I stopped fooling around with the hobby about eight years ago because it was such a hassle at the time, Sony handycam, the micro tapes, play the movie to put it on the computer, then edit it and put it in what was the thing then "mpeg4".
Will I bought myself a droid x two years ago and was gonna take up the hobby then but technology has come so far since eight years ago and the thought just scares me. Now I have a razr maxx, and i wanna start making videos, what kind of software would you suggest, what formats of videos are there now?
I feel that a cell phone would make the quality videos I'm interested in, it much better than my old Sony handycam

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just need to know if it is possible at all to edit video taken with our Incredible (ex. shorten, decrease size, split into separate videos, etc.). I've searched the Market and can't find any app to edit videos. Because the resolution is so large, it is difficult and in some cases impossible to send a video via SMS, MMS or email because of its size. The smallest video setting is 1MB, which at the lowest resolution, is only 9 seconds long. That's horrible. I want to be able to record a regular video and edit it. Please help if anyone knows whether or not this is possible. By the way, despite the issues everyone else may have, I luv this phone...had it since day 2 of pre-order launch and never thought twice about returning it.

For example: I am in a train and I have a movie in my android phone and I want to see it but also share it with my friend on his tablet. I would like to see it in both devices at the same time. Is this possible? Do I need to download an app for this, to sync the reproduction of the video or music?

I have a problem with a video that I am trying to upload or share.I can share via facebook or gmail, but am stuck right now because it says that the file is too large.It's about 2 min of video, so I don't know how big that is since I cant find the actual size anywhere.Any idea how I can get it off the phone if I don't have an sd card reader?I guess I could mount the phone to my laptop and copy to my regular comp, but I was hoping there was an easier way to do it?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI took the video of my grandson swearing in to the U. S. Air Force on my Droid Bionic phone using COLOR and thinking I was broadcasting it live, but evidentally I was not. SO now I have it on my phone only and cannot find a way to share the video. I am deathly afraid it will get damaged or lost. His mom died in a homicide and needless to say this is a valuable piece of family memory to me to risk losing if the phone gets lost or damaged.

View 1 Replies View RelatedPre-Froyo streaming video used to be pretty good on Incredible. My work often involves repetitive tasks, and the streaming video on my Incredible was, if not incredibly fast, good enough that I could catch up on TV shows which I could not make time for at home. Now, after a factory reset and Froyo, the sites which I used to stream these shows from no longer work properly on my Incredible. I actually tried several of them, including zshare, novamov, smotri, wisevid, divxden - most of these worked good enough prior to Froyo, now they all act strangely, just enough to waste my time, and then crash.
I almost thought I was ready to stop burning time making Incredible and Android work for me, and start making it work in my life. A deciding factor which sold me on this phone was the streaming video capability which others lacked at the time - and why should any smart phones not have this capability, which has been available on PCs for 10 years, in a time when smart phones can download web pages nearly as fast as Road Runner service actually does? Now that Verizon and HTC have my money, they start restricting what I can do with it, just like everybody else. Screw you, Android, HTC, Verizon, and every fanboy who defends the trojan horse they call Froyo! You fanboys, especially, who enable these frauds with your relativistic arguments. Yes, I probably am using Android and not an Apple phone because I like bluetooth, wi-fi, and my own choice of battery power, but none of that excuses the promise of features which don't actually perform - this is what the unbrainwashed would call fraud!
I am trying to develop an android application which will be able to record a video and send it in real time to a remote computer. The computer then will play it live. I have managed to establish a connection between the android and the computer, and to record a video on the android phone. My problem is, how will I be able to send this video to the computer? Does anyone have an idea?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was trying to use VideoView to play a Video from the SD card, but the only thing working properly is its audio, while I see the first frame of the video which doesn't play on and after a few seconds the Error message "Cannot play video - Sorry, this video cannot be played" appears. I don't know what I have done wrong.if anyone could help me out here, that would be great. this is the logcat output I get...I just saw that it says Video track fell behind, could that be the problem and if so what can I do to stop it from falling behind?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am doing a video based course, and what is infuriating about playing video on my Android is that you have to watch each segment (up to 40 minutes) in one go, as the next time you play the clip it will restart and fast forward does not work (it forwards for less than a second and then jerks back). What would be really handy would be if I could put a bookmark every time I have to stop the video file (such as when I have to get off my train), and return to the same place the next time I open it. Is there any app that can do this? I will pay for one that works.

How can I pass all the XMPP information (including XMPPConnection) to the service so it can use it without twice logging in? Currently I have it setup so I am making 2 XMPP connections. This works, my service continues to send XMPP messages UNTIL I try to send a message in my main activity, then the app force closes. Im assuming because I have tried to login to the service twice.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am using the Alcatel OT-918d (stock rom, root access enabled) and while playing videos in the browser, I do not get an action prompt to choose from the available video players and browser plays the video using "default video player".
The so called "default video player" has been uninstalled though. Have cleared cache, clear defaults, clear data for the browser but still do not get a prompt to choose a video player while playing videos from the browser.
Also installed the "Default App Manager" to check for the default video player. However, it indicates no defaults to play any videos (either from file or streaming videos).
(If I play a stored video from phone or SD card, I do get the prompt to choose a video player. But do not get a prompt if playing any video in the browser.)

I've only had my EVO for 4 days now but I can't open any videos sent to me via messaging. My husband has an Instict and sent me a 20 second video of our daughter and when I tried to open it, I got a photo that said "Video too large to view on this device". The video is not that large so I'm not sure what's up.Is there anyone else that is having this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it? We send videos of our kids all the time and I hate to think that I can't do that with a "state of the art" phone.
