Jul 22, 2012I've been out of the game for a while when it comes to making videos and editing them. I stopped fooling around with the hobby about eight years ago because it was such a hassle at the time, Sony handycam, the micro tapes, play the movie to put it on the computer, then edit it and put it in what was the thing then "mpeg4".
Will I bought myself a droid x two years ago and was gonna take up the hobby then but technology has come so far since eight years ago and the thought just scares me. Now I have a razr maxx, and i wanna start making videos, what kind of software would you suggest, what formats of videos are there now?
I feel that a cell phone would make the quality videos I'm interested in, it much better than my old Sony handycam

Jul 16, 2010I just need to know if it is possible at all to edit video taken with our Incredible (ex. shorten, decrease size, split into separate videos, etc.). I've searched the Market and can't find any app to edit videos. Because the resolution is so large, it is difficult and in some cases impossible to send a video via SMS, MMS or email because of its size. The smallest video setting is 1MB, which at the lowest resolution, is only 9 seconds long. That's horrible. I want to be able to record a regular video and edit it. Please help if anyone knows whether or not this is possible. By the way, despite the issues everyone else may have, I luv this phone...had it since day 2 of pre-order launch and never thought twice about returning it.

Nov 8, 2010I really like the Screen Suite lockscreen look. However, when I run it with a beautiful widgets clock widget, the clock stays on the same time it was when I locked my phone. I am using LauncherPro. Does anyone know why this happens? I tried using widgetlocker instead of screen suite but I really like screen suite a lot better.

May 25, 2010I'm building a suite of applications, meaning that I have a single set of code that gets customized via a single change of an API key. This means that all of the applications have the same activities, same behaviors, but different icons, package names, and application names depending on the client I am building for.
Unfortunately, I haven't figured out a clean way to do this. Because the package name is what the Android Marketplace uses, I've been changing it to com.nilobject.productname.clientname. However, this changes the package for all of the activities to no longer be in the package of the application, since they live in "com.nilobject.productname." Additionally, the autogenerated "R" moves, so all of the references to R in com.nilobject.productname break.
I'm using Eclipse for development. Should I just refactor the activities with each build to be in the same package? Is there a system for this that I don't know about?

One application might be doing a small thing but when two or three apps club together then they can tackle a bigger problem.Or for the competion one has to have everything in one app? I want each application to install with its own launcher icon, so I have a few activities with the same intent filter.It works just fine if I close out of an application using the back button. Each launcher icon starts a different activity. However, if I simply send the application into the background using the home button and then try to start a different activity,the one I put into the background is brought to the foreground instead of the correct activity starting.Can I make the multiple icons work or do I need to create a central activity as a way to start all the sub-applications?

My current question is - can I save spreadsheets which I create on the tablet using Office Suite Pro, and if so, how?
The Support says i can save to Local Storage, but I don;t seem to have this. What is it and how do I get it? I have a My Documents Folder and an Internal Storage folder. When I go to Save in either of these folders it displays the message "There are no supported files in this folder" and the Save icon is greyed out.
I should be saving to an SD card, but my device doesn't have one, nor does it have a slot for one.

I thought Kingsoft Office is supposed to do that because I read a review from PCWorld, and it said just like desktop version, it can switch between open documents with tabs. I think the review is false. I have been trying to figure out how to open multiple documents with Kingsoft for HOURS, and can't figure out. I have a Galaxy tab 10.1 original with ICS.
So if I'm correct and Kingsoft does not have this feature, any office suite app that lets you open multiple docs at once? Doesn't have to be free. I just need a decent one that have this feature. I only need it for viewing docs anyway.

One of the deciding features (pretty much the only reason I use my iPad) is for reading PDFs of academic journals/publications. In iOS land, I've been using an app called Noterize to highlight/mark-up/circle these documents and export my annotated version to Google docs or Dropbox. Is anyone using a similar PDF-editing app with similar features? I'd hate to have to be an Apple user!

Sep 17, 2010I create Android applications for my job. Eclipse is open all day and I am frequently editing XML files for layouts, etc. I find that creating/editing these XML files pushes up the memory use of Eclipse. Eclipse never seems to release any of the memory and eventually Eclipse tells me that there has been some sort of workbench out of memory error and I have to exit. It will not let me save or do much of anything after this point.
Is there a workaround for this? I don't want to have to exit Eclipse and start it up because of this memory issue. Why won't Eclipse free up its memory use? It just keeps going up. I am still having issues with running out of memory, the eclipse.ini suggestions did not fix it.
