I went to play a short vid clip that I had shot with the Dinc (and had fortunately saved to my computer); got the message "the video cannot be played." Rebooted and now the clip has vanished!

Not a huge deal, but it would have sucked if I had something important that I didn't want to lose. I checked my settings and I am not set to purge anything. Is this a possible side effect of 2.2?

When I press the power button, the screen turns off, but when I press it again, it turns back on directly to the home screen. No more lock screen. I can also do this by pressing the trackball but not the 'call' button.At first though this was great, but I've pocket dialed 2 people already.I tinkered around in the settings but didn't find anything. Maybe I've overlooked the obvious.

Now my problem, I was recently running out of internal memory (which was 8 GB) so I formatted my internal memory from my computer. After that my internal memory has disappeared. Now I keep receiving a "damaged storage" message. When I touch it, a format option comes up but when I format it a message appears "checking for errors" but nothing happens. I tried reseting my device but no luck there. I can still access the external memory sd card.
P.S. My device is not rooted
I have the motorola droid. I got the handcent app because I really like all the customization options within it. However, lately I have been having this annoying problem. Sometimes when I have just sent a message, when I press the home button to return to the homescreen, it goes home but all my apps have vanished. I can go through my menu and replace them all to where they were, or I can reboot the phone and that usually corrects it. It is still annoying and is really putting me off the app. Has anyone else had this problem? Do you know if there is a specific cause or how I can correct it?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI may be purchasing a Droid soon. One thing that worries me a little is the GPS/Dock function that "activates" when you dock it in the media or car dock. From what I understand this triggers due to magnets that the Droid senses.
I use a leather money clip that holds like 10 cards then has a clip with a magnet in it to hold bills. (See picture).
My concern is that if I keep the Dtoid in my right pocket with my wallet it's going to activate and start draining the battery like crazy. As the phone would be too big to fit in the small "change" pocket on jeans that I used to use for my LG Voyager and previous phones it has me a little worried how I'm going to tote it around. I may buy one of those glasses cleaning clothes and wrap it in that, but the magnetic portion could still be an issue.

Can anyone shed any light on why I'm unable to click and play a youtube clip on an Android handset when placed inside a webview?I've put a very simple app together (it's being extended, but no right away) and it has a web view assigned using the Android SDK.The rest of the webview works as expected (text, images, css etc), however, the YouTube clips will not show, they just show as black or white rectangles (where the video embed should be).We use the same view to display content on the iPhone app equivalent, without any issues.This is using a basic flash embed, the Safari browser on iPhone converts these to H.264 and plays them nicely in QuickTime.Can Android do the same?

You have to call the recognizer intent, have it send the recording for transcription to google, and wait for the text back. Some of my ideas would require recording the audio within my app and then sending the clip to google for transcription. Is there any way I can send an audio clip to be processed with speech to text?

When I press the button mulitple times the tick persists. I was wondering if this was the audio file itself or is there something I need to do differently with the SoundPool other than play simply play the clip. These are .ogg files I created using Audacity. When I play them in my dekstop media player, they sound fine.

I've done this several times with the W key on the keyboard. When I'm typing really fast and drag my fingers to type "saw" for example with just my left thumb I'll catch the bottom left of the W key while the A is pressed down and it'll lift up and make a popping noise. I'm worried eventually I'll snap the W off the keyboard.

I know this is not a big deal but it is still bothersome. When I try to run video while on Yahoo's site I get message "Cannot play video - Sorry this video cannot be played." I have no issues with ESPN, Cnet, etc. I'm able to run these yahoo videos on my wife's Eris with 2.1 (v.3).
Anyone know how to deal with this issue?
When I create an APP for Media test, I'd like to get the duration of tested clip. Nut as the debug result, the duration is different between the 2 methods for many clips.
