View 8 Replies View RelatedAs the title says really, I cannot get my Hero to vibrate when I get a text message. In Messages > Settings > Vibrate, the option is ticked but even if I untick / restart / retick it still doesn't work. I've also tried pressing the volume button down to vibrate mode and back again but that makes no difference.I've even tried working with Handcent and yet I still cannot get the vibrate working. Everything else works such as the status bar notification but that's it.The vibrate part is definitely working for phone calls and other apps so I don't think that it's a hardware problem. Any idea what could be causing it? I'm using the latest official UK Orange ROM.
View 2 Replies View RelatedGreetings. Im new to android and have the htc hero. Is there any way to select 'vibrate all'? If i put the ringer on vibrate, it will do so when i get a call but when i get a sms, my phone gives no alert whatsoever. Is there a way to fix this at all?
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen I'm generally sending an SMS or using the text pad, there is a hepatic response which is welcome in my opinion. However when dialing, I don't get any vibration feedback. I swear remembering this was so
My firmware is 1.5.Can anyone suggest as to how to turn it on? Vibration is enabed in Touch Input btw
Why does every notification vibrate even when the ringer is on I'm talking about. when I get missed call and text notifications.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAll of a sudden, the sound quit working. Alarm volume is maxxed out and when I adjust it, it sounds fine. When I want it to go off, the screen lights up and that is it.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI think I noticed a day or so after it actually started to do it...or not do it, rather.I've checked so many settings. It's set to vibrate in the actual settings. I set it to vibrate in handcent.I even turned on the stock messaging app to see if that would vibrate and nothing. I tried holding down end call to see if it would vibrate and nothing. The only time I've felt it vibrate is when powering on the phone.Anyone have any ideas? If not, is there an easy way to restore to factory defaults?

My older phone is Sidekick 3, the vibrate on that thing is a monster. however the hero is so weak i could never feel anything not even if i place it on my skin of my leg. Vibrate is very important to me. I even wrapped my pant tight so it presses against my skin harder but nope! I'm seriously thinking about sending it back.
were anyone able to feel their phone vibrate? if so what pattern and how do you wear it?
I use handsent as my text app don't know if it could be that but but I will get a text and my phone will vibrate but no ring until I get the phone and slide to unlock ... anyone else having same problem?
ps. Much lagg on keyboard as I'm typing this entry)
I've had the Sprint HTC Hero since Nov 25. 2009 and my vibrate has never worked. I just recently realized it when I used someone else's Hero. I have all the settings to vibrate but it just seems like nothing works. Any idea?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI realize that there isn't really a way to customize the vibrate function with stock functionality. And I realize that Handcent provides such an option (which I loved, for the short time it worked), but Handcent also causes vibrate to stop working almost completely in the phone (except for calls) even after being uninstalled. So Handcent is no option. Quite surprising actually, that they'd have such a fatal bug in the program. You always know when it happens to. You go to send a text (after some undefined amount of successful texts), and suddenly the phone reboots as you're sending. At that point, vibrate has stopped working for pretty much everything except calls. Anyway... my question is whether there's any other app out there to either customize the whole vibrate function, or at least customize it for texts. I did a search and couldn't find much information on the subject (and some of what I *did* find was rather old). Two quick vibrates is not very useful for texts when it takes much longer than that to notice it vibrating (especially with how weak and quick those two vibrations are).
View 7 Replies View RelatedHTC Hero - no sound or vibrate for text notifications I have had my Hero for about a week (first Droid!). I am no longer getting sound or vibrate text notifications. I get sound for email notifications, but no vibrate. The LED indicator is working fine. I don't really care about the email notifications, but I need the sound and vibrate for texts! I have checked the forums and found several threads where downloading Sound Manager resolved the issue. It didn't work for me. I have also checked Settings> Sound & Display > Notification Sound. There is a tone selected. I tried a battery pull as well.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an htc hero with sprint. Recently, I have been facing some issues with not hearing or feeling text messages because I miss the tone or buzz of the phone, even with the max volume on. Is there a setting where I can make the phone repeatedly give me an alert and/or vibrate when I get a text message? I have searched both the sound and display option in the phone settings and the messages settings.

When holding and dragging icons, the phone vibrates.
My GPS quit working yesterday in Ruidoso, NM. Was working great all weekend, even in the mountains. Yesterday morning, it refused to find my location. Rebooted several times (didn't remove battery-should have) but it never kicked in. Turned GPS off, but kept turning it on periodically just to check it on the drive back to Austin. When we got home, I checked it one more time and it was working? I'm very glad it's working, but just wonder why it stopped? I really missed it!

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have turned off vibration in the settings but it still vibrated when phone/dial a number. Is there any way to turn this off as well? I liked it at first, but turning it off really speeds up the response time. For some reason it is still vibrating when I go to phone and start typing a number. The lag id horrible compared to typing with the vibrate off
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there a simple way to enable / disable vibrate for the phone / notifications? I tried using the volume rocker, going to vibrate there. That works for the ringers, but not notifications. I mainly want to set / unset vibrate for gmail and Google Voice. I have tried various 3rd party apps like Volume Control / Audio Manager, but nothing seems to work consistently.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI switched to Sprint yesterday from ATT and bought a Hero along with my dad. They activated the phones for us and than told us that it should only be 30 minutes before our phones were on but could take up to 24 hours. its been about 15-16 hours and was wondering if it takes everyone this long?
View 8 Replies View RelatedFirst, can we change the phone to vibrate once instead of twice when receiving an SMS?
Also, is it possible to have the phone turn on its screen briefly when an SMS is received?
I'm talking about while using the native Messages app, not with chompSMS or Handcent.
You will need to flash an extra file, but you can now run your rooted hero at 528 (or slower if you prefer)
ITS SO GOOD

I didn't have anything to do with this, and I didn't find this link, I just posted it from my old thread about the overclock widget (thanks to whoever found this). I figured that people who don't check xda regularly (like myself) might want a heads up, so here you go.
