Motorola Droid : Notification Light Has Quit Working After Update
Apr 1, 2010After the 2.1 update my notification light has stopped working. It no longer lights up for anything! Anyone else have this issue?

Aug 16, 2010For the last few weeks my notification light doesn't come on for anything except a low battery. I've seen from other posts here that it only comes on in sleep mode in 2.1, but mine doesn't even come on then. I downloaded LED Tester from the market and those aren't coming up either which has me worried. If this means a VZW swap, backup recommendations?

May 10, 2010My light has stopped working. The LED isnt dead, cos I DL'd Missed Call from the Market, and it works with that app, but not when I get a text, tweet or FB invite/msg/event. It flashed green for: tweets and texts and Blue for FB notifications.

Oct 24, 2010Does anyone know how long your led light notification blinks for missed calls and text messages etc.I thought is was to blink until you checked the missed call or message.Mine is going off after 5 to 8 minutes without going into the phone and checking the missed call or text.Is this normal?

Apr 17, 2010Anyone else notice that the green indicator light is blinking in a different spot? Don't think it's a big deal, maybe it's from the update. I really only noticed it b/c there's a cutout for the light on my Zagg skin and this new light placement is not in the cutout.

Dec 18, 2009So my little notification light up in the right corner keeps flashing after I get a call. The only way I've found to stop it is by restarting the phone. I was wondering if anyone else had a similar problem or knew of any possible ways to fix it.I was thinking it might have been a bug with the app Missed Call, but I've played with all the settings on there and it hasn't changed. I don't know what else could be causing it.

Jun 5, 2010Has anybody else ever been in an SMS (Google Voice), email, or IM conversation with somebody, with your phone continually beeping every 30 seconds when you get a new message? This happens to me a lot. The phone is sitting next to me on my desk, and each time it beeps, I pick it up, push the power button, swipe to unlock, swipe down the notifications bar, and then look to see what's new. After doing this about 30 times in an hour, I have to ask myself, is this really necessary on a modern smartphone? The dumbest dumbphone I know will light up when you get a new text. Now, I have searched high and low, and am I just stupid, or is there no setting or app available to turn the screen on for like 5 seconds and display new notifications as soon as they come in?

Mar 3, 2010My GPS quit working yesterday in Ruidoso, NM. Was working great all weekend, even in the mountains. Yesterday morning, it refused to find my location. Rebooted several times (didn't remove battery-should have) but it never kicked in. Turned GPS off, but kept turning it on periodically just to check it on the drive back to Austin. When we got home, I checked it one more time and it was working? I'm very glad it's working, but just wonder why it stopped? I really missed it!

Jul 22, 2010I just switched from i Phone 4 to Droid X. Very exciting, since not only I have to learn how to use it but also I need to optimize the phone as well. (So much to do, I was bored with i Phone 4 ) So far battery life is not that great, drops 10 % every hour or 2 without heavy duty. (is this normal?) But yeah my question is every time I unlock the screen,(so when the screen wakes up) the notification light blinks with blue/red color. Is that normal? I checked Motorola, it wasn't on the manual.

Dec 16, 2009I had no clue what it was until I checked the nav bar, and saw it was a facebook update. Wow, I thought, maybe they fixed the facebook app in the background without forcing me to update. Haven't seen the blue light since, and it has been 2 days and 7-9 notifications later.
Any idea when they will fix the facebook app? Or better yet, any idea how I got it to light up once randomly? It was somebody posting a comment on my wall post fyi (and the notifications still don't refresh in the app itself). Also, why can't I view linked youtube videos from other peoples comments? Obviously the droid can use youtube, so it seems odd that they wouldn't let you watch posted videos.

May 22, 2010Over the past 2 days i have noticed that the green led is no longer flashing when i receive an email.Has anyone else got this issue?I cant see a specific option to enable the led, so i doubt i have turned it off (plus it sometimes works).I was thinking of doing a hard reset - anyone got any advice before i do this?

If I don't clear my notifications of the new text(s) right away, the blinking light kills my battery. I do want to keep the notification on my drop down bar, I just want the blinking light to stop. Is there anyway to do this? I know I can take off the blinking light and drop down bar notification, but I don't want both gone, only the blinking light.
