View 3 RepliesDoes anyone know how to turn off vibrate when I organize my screen?
When holding and dragging icons, the phone vibrates.
Did a little searching and got nothing on this.
Is there a way I can turn the vibrate on press off for the dialer? I think that is causing some of the lag. Nothing on my phone vibrates except when receiving a call and when dialing. It's much more responsive with vibrate on press turned off. Also is there a way to silence the emergency dialer?
I have turned off vibration in the settings but it still vibrated when phone/dial a number. Is there any way to turn this off as well? I liked it at first, but turning it off really speeds up the response time. For some reason it is still vibrating when I go to phone and start typing a number. The lag id horrible compared to typing with the vibrate off

View 1 Replies View RelatedFirst, can we change the phone to vibrate once instead of twice when receiving an SMS?
Also, is it possible to have the phone turn on its screen briefly when an SMS is received?
I'm talking about while using the native Messages app, not with chompSMS or Handcent.
Can this phone vibrate and ring at the same time? unlike palm where its only one or the other.

View 26 Replies View RelatedI've had my Hero for over 2 weeks and just recently noticed that the top of the silver keypad area at the bottom of the phone is slightly raised from the level of the glass. I don't remember it being that way but maybe I just didn't notice it until now. For some reason I thought it was flush (even) with the glass before. When I run my finger over it and onto the glass I can tell it (the silver keyboard area) is slightly raised.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen I am in a call on my Sprint HTC Hero, if I bring up the touch-keypad, hit the number 1 and then slide the keypad away, I get a message "Starting MMI sequence" and the call disconnects. The reason I discovered this is because I use Google Voice and I need to press 1 to accept a call or 2 to send it to voic email. But, when I press 1 and slide away the keypad, it disconnects. This does not happen when I press the actual keypad soft-button to get the keypad to disappear, it only happens when I swipe it down and away. It runs other MMI Sequences, depending on which key I press... (2 and 4 give me a dial tone to make another call, 3 gives me a popup that says "unable to conference calls", etc...) so is this a function of the phone (like a shortcut or something), or is it something that shouldn't be happening? Like I said, I don't think I've noticed it before the last day or so and I can't find anything about it in the manual or on any of the forums. Should pressing a button on the soft-keypad and swiping the keyboard away while in a call always run an "MMI Sequence"?

View 9 Replies View RelatedGreetings. Im new to android and have the htc hero. Is there any way to select 'vibrate all'? If i put the ringer on vibrate, it will do so when i get a call but when i get a sms, my phone gives no alert whatsoever. Is there a way to fix this at all?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI tried searching for this, to no avail, but here is the situation. I was on my main Home screen and just trying to figure stuff out and when I long press the menu key it brings up the onscreen keyboard. I figured it was for contact search or something, but it did nothing when I typed...or so I thought. Now everytime I back out to the Home screen a little transparent "window" displays with letters i first typed. I cant type new letters to display or even use the backspace key to erase. Any one know what Im talking about?
View 10 Replies View RelatedSay you're surfing the web and are on a website like this forum. You then feel like checking a text message or making a call so you go ahead and do that.
How do you get back to the browser that is still running in the background and to the same website you were working on? I hope there's an easy answer and I'm just stupid.
I think I noticed a day or so after it actually started to do it...or not do it, rather.I've checked so many settings. It's set to vibrate in the actual settings. I set it to vibrate in handcent.I even turned on the stock messaging app to see if that would vibrate and nothing. I tried holding down end call to see if it would vibrate and nothing. The only time I've felt it vibrate is when powering on the phone.Anyone have any ideas? If not, is there an easy way to restore to factory defaults?

My older phone is Sidekick 3, the vibrate on that thing is a monster. however the hero is so weak i could never feel anything not even if i place it on my skin of my leg. Vibrate is very important to me. I even wrapped my pant tight so it presses against my skin harder but nope! I'm seriously thinking about sending it back.
were anyone able to feel their phone vibrate? if so what pattern and how do you wear it?
I use handsent as my text app don't know if it could be that but but I will get a text and my phone will vibrate but no ring until I get the phone and slide to unlock ... anyone else having same problem?
ps. Much lagg on keyboard as I'm typing this entry)
I've had the Sprint HTC Hero since Nov 25. 2009 and my vibrate has never worked. I just recently realized it when I used someone else's Hero. I have all the settings to vibrate but it just seems like nothing works. Any idea?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI realize that there isn't really a way to customize the vibrate function with stock functionality. And I realize that Handcent provides such an option (which I loved, for the short time it worked), but Handcent also causes vibrate to stop working almost completely in the phone (except for calls) even after being uninstalled. So Handcent is no option. Quite surprising actually, that they'd have such a fatal bug in the program. You always know when it happens to. You go to send a text (after some undefined amount of successful texts), and suddenly the phone reboots as you're sending. At that point, vibrate has stopped working for pretty much everything except calls. Anyway... my question is whether there's any other app out there to either customize the whole vibrate function, or at least customize it for texts. I did a search and couldn't find much information on the subject (and some of what I *did* find was rather old). Two quick vibrates is not very useful for texts when it takes much longer than that to notice it vibrating (especially with how weak and quick those two vibrations are).

View 10 Replies View RelatedHTC Hero - no sound or vibrate for text notifications I have had my Hero for about a week (first Droid!). I am no longer getting sound or vibrate text notifications. I get sound for email notifications, but no vibrate. The LED indicator is working fine. I don't really care about the email notifications, but I need the sound and vibrate for texts! I have checked the forums and found several threads where downloading Sound Manager resolved the issue. It didn't work for me. I have also checked Settings> Sound & Display > Notification Sound. There is a tone selected. I tried a battery pull as well.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an htc hero with sprint. Recently, I have been facing some issues with not hearing or feeling text messages because I miss the tone or buzz of the phone, even with the max volume on. Is there a setting where I can make the phone repeatedly give me an alert and/or vibrate when I get a text message? I have searched both the sound and display option in the phone settings and the messages settings.
