i got a media message from someone which i would like to set as a text message ringtone i long pressed the message that contained the media and it asked me to save so i saved it but now i cant seem to find anywhere

I can not figure out how to change my text message ringtone, The ringtone for my text messages will not change not matter what I try. I have tried going into my text message main screen - menu - notification - ringtone BUT this puts the new ringtone on and does not turn off the old ring tone. I have tried changing my notification ringtone in the app Ringdroid and that changes everything but the text messages.

View 19 Replies View RelatedI noticed that you can't adjust media volume without first playing media. Like you have to, for example, press the play button before pressing rocker volume in order to adjust media volume or else you'll just be adjusting ringer volume. This is unfortunate since games also use media volume. So if you wonna start up a quick game in a quiet setting, your in trouble if you were listening music before and never turned down/off the media volume. Unless I'm missing something and there is in fact a way to do it?

Step 2, Touch it and it should go full screen pic below
Step 3, Touch menu button and this screen below appears
Step 4, Hit the set as ringtone button and below screen appears
Step 5, select trim ringtone and below screen appears. When in this screen you can adjust ringtone from each end to where it begins and ends. There is a play button and a left and right arrow. The left and right arrow allow for second to second adjusting.
Where did the ringtone trimmer go that was integrated into 1.5? I installed Fresh 2.0d and its gone. Any ideas?

However, there is no shortcut icon for this app under my main menu of loaded apps. I don't guess it really matters, because I never used it, but was it removed in the MR update? I downloaded and have used Ringdroid and it works great for me, but I am curious as to what happened to the preloaded app?

Its a 2 gig mem card and i have 1.7 gigs left on it thats completely free. And my phone has 99mb of internal memory free. So a few hundred kb ringtone should not be saying this.

Only issue I have is I seem to have lost the ability to set an mp3 as the ringtone. I do have some mp3's in the /media/audio/ringtones folder, but they don't show up in the ringtones list.

I like it, and would like to use it for my default ringtone, but it doesn't seem to be an option, nor can I find it anywhere in the file system. Also, when I asked the folks at HTC where the file was located, they conveniently dodged my question and and told me how to add new ringtones to my SD card. (not surprised).

I have to reboot in order for the phone to go online. A.d guess what the messages I wanted to delete r still there. But I digress- I'm having 1 problem in particular and after reading up on forums, and numerous google searches I've reached the end. I concede!Whenever I'm using my hero to play music in the stock player (and I believe Last.FM too) & I receive a notification- be it IM, text, email or anything else- my phone remains silenced after the notification is over. So I'll get a text, the phone will silence my music to play the notification (short beeps, long beeps, full ringtones,) I'll check the notification & my music player still remains silenced (edit: while its still playing- & when I hit play it continues where it was paused @ not where I was last listening to it.) I have to pause & replay whatever song is on or wait for Last.FM to move to the next song or skip the last song to hear anything. This is happening no matter how I'm listening. Cabled headphones, bluetooth stereo headphones, the speaker.

It would seem that the Hero does not like very much of anything when it comes to streaming. I have been running into this a lot with several web sites. However, I also have a weird problem where the pictures I do receive disappear from the entire thread after about 5 seconds...I use both Chomp and the stock app and both exhibit the problem. Am i just missing something? There doesn't seem to be anyway to access the particular message once it disappears.
