Sprint HTC Hero :: Block Private Calls?
Feb 12, 2010i have tried nearly ever single application on the market that claims to block private numbers but it none of them work for me... Idk if its because of the Sprint service or the applications just dont work. I know GBlocker blocks the calls. But it dont block the texts, or prevent it from going to voicemail. Nor does it block private calls. There was this other one I had that blocked calls too but same thing with GBlocker. What i dont understand is that if you choose the option "BLOCK ALL CALLS" it will then block private calls. But the option to just block the private calls fails to work. Is there anything out there that actually works? I have considered buying extreme blocker for $5 but whats the point if it might not work? When blocked numbers call, i dont want their voicemails. Nor do I wanna know their calling.

Apr 30, 2010I installed SuperCam on my Hero with Fresh 1.0. It worked great and I could view all my security cams from anywhere. I loaded Fresh 2.0D and now thew app is no longer available in the market. I restored my Nandroid backup and the app still works. is there a way to move this app from the phone so i can put it back after reloading 2.0d?

Sep 17, 2010Most of my work phone calls are unknown number and lately I kept getting a phone call from a private number every half hour or so and it only ring once then hang up. I want to block that private number but not the unknown, I tried couple of apps but it doesn't allow me to just block private number. I have to block unknown, private etc..

Jul 6, 2010The email account that I use on a regular basis is the email account that my high school set up for me. It is not an account that is organized with a bigger company such as google, yahoo, hotmail, etc. When I tried to set up my email account on my Droid ally, it asks me for a lot of detailed information about my server and then said it could not connect. I used to have a Blackberry Tour and it did not require any information other than username and password to set up an email account so I know my school does not have any restrictions on this type of thing.
Does anyone know what I should do? The Verizon store had no idea.

Feb 15, 2010Everyones helped me so much the last two weeks my chance to give back Step 1, Go to mp3 or music widget pictured below.
Step 2, Touch it and it should go full screen pic below
Step 3, Touch menu button and this screen below appears
Step 4, Hit the set as ringtone button and below screen appears
Step 5, select trim ringtone and below screen appears. When in this screen you can adjust ringtone from each end to where it begins and ends. There is a play button and a left and right arrow. The left and right arrow allow for second to second adjusting.

However, there is no shortcut icon for this app under my main menu of loaded apps. I don't guess it really matters, because I never used it, but was it removed in the MR update? I downloaded and have used Ringdroid and it works great for me, but I am curious as to what happened to the preloaded app?

If you go into EPST using ##000000# it only lets you change the MIN and MDN. If anyone would happen to have Ntelos's MMS setting that would also save me some time but is not needed as I can pull them from another phone.

May 19, 2010when i had the thearmo theme on fresh 2.0d, the vanilla lockscreen was different..you could press menu as many times as you wanted and it would NOT unlock (which is exactly what i want since i always have my phone in my pocket) you had to swipe...i took off the theme and installed vanilla lockscreen and if you hit menu twice it unlocks..i installed DC rom and same thing with the lockscreen (even tried a few themes that came on the dc updater) is there a setting for this or was this only possible with the thearmo theme? basically im looking for a lockscreen that you have to swipe to unlock (i dont want password or draw a pattern)

May 20, 2010I have been trying for hours now to get my HTC Hero phone upgraded to 2.1, but am still having problems. After fixing my HTC Sync issue, now I have the RUU Setup (2.1 Executable to upgrade) to deal with.
I try to open the executable file, both normally and as administrator, but all it would give me is a loading screen for about four seconds. The loading bar would go to the end, and then close down. The wizard does not pop up at all. Can I get any help with this? It's been four hours since I've tried doing this.
I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit

Jul 29, 2010All, I rooted my phone today for 2.1, and it's working great. I removed most of the crap sprint applications I didn't want (including their music player). Only issue I have is I seem to have lost the ability to set an mp3 as the ringtone. I do have some mp3's in the /media/audio/ringtones folder, but they don't show up in the ringtones list.

Dec 2, 2009I have the HTC Hero from Sprint. I am running the stock ROM from Sprint with the update that was released in Nov. Scenario:
Person X is in my contact list
I want sound file Y to play when I get a phone call from X
I want sound file Z to play when I get a text from X
(Note: For clarification Y and Z are not the same file. The sound file Z should be different depending on the person also. In other words can I set costume text alerts per person).
When you look at the contact in 'people' there is a setting for 'ring tone' I am not sure if this is just for incoming calls or if this is also for incoming texts from this person.
