Can it be dimmed? and how reliable is the alarm function? Also can you turn the phone volume off so alerts and phone calls dont ring while still leaving the alarm volume active?

Oct 13, 2009Been trying hard since sunday to figure out how to add custom alarms to the alarm clock. I just miss alot of my alarms and want to be able to continue to use them on the Hero. so far everything I have tried does not work. I even created a "Media" folder with 3 sub folders "Alarms", "notifications", "Ringtones" even by placing them in these folders still nothing. I have been able to use the media player to add my music as a ringtone, however the music I have placed in the ringtone folder does not show up either in my phone.

Apr 21, 2010I guess I'm one of the lucky ones that can get mms on my hero but when i download the incoming mms it shows up once then after i close it i can not view or find the picture again. Ive mounted the phone and looked in the download folder of sd card but nothing is there, and its certainly not in any of my albums. Jan 17, 2010I read that the flip clock is a battery drainer, so I figured I'd switch it out. I like the HTC weather, but I sorta want a digital clock.
HTC's alarm settings etc. are great, I'd like to keep those setting as the clocks that are on the market I'm guessing won't have as many features if they're free.
But can I swap my HTC clock widget yet still have HTC run my alarm? I'm not really sure if I can do this or not, but I didn't want to download/install a clock over the stock one and need to get it back, so I was wondering if anyone had done this before.

Feb 8, 2010I am trying to download a ringtone onto my phone (which apparently gets downloaded to my sd card under download) but its saying I have no available space. Its a 2 gig mem card and i have 1.7 gigs left on it thats completely free. And my phone has 99mb of internal memory free. So a few hundred kb ringtone should not be saying this.

Mar 22, 2010Just got this phone last week, and besides the battery life I'm quite enjoying it. This weekend I was visiting some friends I haven't seen in a long time, we had a few beers and then got a bright idea. My friend has a work phone with an 8GB MicroSD card that he doesn't use. So, we swapped memory cards. Now I'm 4 states away and just now realized that I should have copied the folders onto the new card. Anyone have a zip file with the "stock" folders and info for these phones? I tried searching but it seems I have a rather unique twist to a common issue.

Mar 29, 2010Sometimes the clock will go weird, and the time won't change unless I touch the phone. This morning I woke up at half 8, I went to look at the time on my phone and it said 04:36, then after a couple of seconds updated to the actual time of half 8. As a result of this, my alarm set to half 6 didn't go off. I don't have any task killer apps, my phone was not turned off, or on silent.

Feb 24, 2010It's getting quite annoying that I can't rely on my phone's alarm clock. I haven't had a separate alarm clock for years and I don't feel like buying it now. I can't really understand why the alarm does not work. It is like the phone gets into a sleeping mode and alarm clock stops working. Another sign is Astro player stops between songs and does not resume until I wake up the phone.
