HTC Hero :: How Do U Personalize Text Notifcations?
Apr 6, 2010i have the htc hero. how do u personalize text tones with your own ringtone per contact? ex. if i wanted to use a tupac song when my brother texted me. but i wanted to use a wayne newton song when my other brother texted me for his notification. i know how to use them for call ringtones, no problems there.

Jun 8, 2010Has anyone found a good ringtone for text messages? It seems like the ringtone and text tones have to be the same volume, and unless I want to crank up the volume on my phone (which makes the ringtone way too loud) I can't hear when I get a text message. I've tried a number of different tones (default phone options and some I've found on Zedge) but none really work for me. I love the one I had on my old LG phone, but can't find anything like it.

Jan 10, 2010I can not figure out how to change my text message ringtone, The ringtone for my text messages will not change not matter what I try. I have tried going into my text message main screen - menu - notification - ringtone BUT this puts the new ringtone on and does not turn off the old ring tone. I have tried changing my notification ringtone in the app Ringdroid and that changes everything but the text messages.

Jun 3, 2010Sometimes when I receive messages it makes the notification sound and will show message in notification bar but the text of the message will not appear in the text thread. Used to happen every once in a while, now doing it multiple times a day. I use Handcent but I doubt that is the problem because the messages dont show up in the regular messaging either. Just want to see if i am alone with this problem.

May 18, 2010So I recently rooted my phone to 2.1. Great btw! but that is not the point. When I get a text message, I get a series of notifications. I get one from the stock phone's stock txt msg app, and one from the phone, which link to the stock app. Plus, if i download handsent, thats 3 notifications per text! So I take the stock txt msg app notifications off and everything so that one does not notify me anymore. But I still get a notification from my phone, not the stock txt app. I dont even know what app or program is notifying me of a text!!. The icon on the notification bar is a postcard (similar to the stock txt app). When I pull down the notification bar menu, the icon is an opened envelope. When I click it to check, it directs me to the stick txt app. It is weird and annoying. I just want my handsent app to notify me. How can I go about doing that? Any help would be great. There was some talk about this, but no resolution. Anyone else have this problem?
