Recently my heros silver button plate has been getting wobbly and when I. press back then press menu the menu button clicks bc its loose I'm way beyond the exch!nge time I got it like 2 days after It came out what do I do?

Back in the day when I used my compaq ipaq, I could change the function of the buttons on the face plate. Does anyone know if that is possible with the Hero or any other android phones?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI just got my hero over the weekend and maybe I just didn't notice it until now. The bottom button/trackball plate seems to have a little looseness or play in it. If I push it left/right or up/down it moves a slight amount. It doesn't feel like it would pop off but its something I just noticed today. Or do I have to take it in to sprint for a replacement?

I have found that Car phone warehouse and mobile phones direct have much better deals on this phone but not in my prefered colour of black.

So i download and purchase this app, but it changed my whole home screen around and now i dint have the bottom layer of buttons? Any suggestions?I am rooted fresh 1.1, looks like sense isnt working? When i press the home button ask me to go home or sense? I am confused not sure what happend? I rebooted and same crap When i press sense it says fresh and black screen then force closes.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've looked all over and I couldn't find any posts regarding this, but are there any music programs that allow you to use a hardware button to advance a track? For example, in my BB Curve I could hard press the volume up button to move to the next track, and hard press the volume down to go back a track (without even looking at it or taking it out of my pocket)...
I dig the stock Hero music app the best I think out of Mixzing, Rockon, Wikitunes, or whatever - mostly because it is in the lock screen where I can advance to the next tune without having to swipe in first...
But its still a pain in the neck, when I'm on a running on a treadmill to pick up the phone and hold it up and press the correct button on the glass, as opposed to just reaching in my pocket and pressing a hardware button like I could on my BB Curve, or any other MP3 player...
Does anyone know a way to eliminate the soft buttons on the home screen, so my wallpaper won't get cut off at the bottom?

My Hero is SO close to what I like now, only need one more change to make it perfect. I'd like to figure out how to change all of the green highlighting to blue on the Hero. (Like on the ZenRom) Things like: when you press a button (say the call button, as an example) or icon or widget, and things like the progress bar in the browser... also things like the unread mail indicator, and the rating stars in the market...etc. Kelmar and I have been reading on XDA, and have tried many things, and we are getting nowhere. Everything seems to lead to a very long tedious process. It would seem to us that some of this might be able to be easily changed in one file, to make the change throughout the rom, but we could be wrong. We wonder if anyone here could help out with how to do this.

Is there a way or an app that shuts off the lights to the hardbuttons/trackball?
This is especially necessary in the day time when i can see the buttons, i don't need them illuminated.
When I owned a palm, there was a program call KBlights... shut of the keyboard, hardbutton lights.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWell have had my hero for around 3 days now. I have recently noticed a creaking sound coming from the home and back buttons. It rarely makes a sound from the menu or search button. But the home and back make this sound if I push the button or if I lightly press down (halfway pushing the buttons).
Is this normal? Do you get this on your hero?
I've had my Incredible for about a month now and lately Ive noticed when i click the track pad to take a picture, the back plate (battery cover) creaks and is very flimsy. I tried applying pressure to see if it just simply needed snapped into place, but i don't want to break anything important. I placed a piece of cardstock between the battery and the back plate as a "shim", but that didn't work either.
Its not a major problem but it gets annoying after awhile. Any Ideas?
I Really miss the old launcher, and status bar from the original Android, you know "silver" with the gradient white statusbar and white look.

The reason I ask is that multitouch, while very cool, doesn't look very practical when you're using the phone with one hand as that only really leaves the thumb free for key pressed and screen touches.
View 4 Replies View Relatedafter installing 2.2 on my hero, everything was working fine, until now. im having problems with my text messages, they wont send under sprints network, if i put it in roaming then they send right away, but roaming has awefully slow (1x) network speeds, but if i put it back to the 3g network speeds of sprint then everytime i try to send a text it just swirls in circles (the little thing next to the message) and wont send. is this sprints network being down? or does this have to do with the 2.2 update?i dont think its sprint because my mom and sister arent having any problems with there phones from the same plan. but i tryed restarting many times, taking out and leaving out the battery, putting it in airplane mode and turning that back off to reset connection, iv tryed everything and cant get it to work, so idk what to do, and i dont understand why if it was a software problem with the 2.2 installation, why would they send in roaming but not on sprints network?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have read a couple of threads that touched on this ring issue, but was unable to find any that had a solution or work around.Since the 2.1 update and the OTA update, many times when an incoming call comes, the phone doesn't ring. If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings.If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. Should I start to re-boot every day?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was trying out the Hero this afternoon, and I noticed that the 'back' button is a bit awkward placed.It felt like it was hard to reach with my thumb when holding the phone in one hand (the rightside hand). The Magic has the back button closer to the trackball, which is much easier to access.Anyone else have the same experience? Or am I the only one that uses this button quite often?Is there a possibility to re-map the hardware buttons?
