I have been looking at the Samsung Galaxy but as 02 keep pushing back the release date i have given up on it and decided to go with the Hero.
I have found that Car phone warehouse and mobile phones direct have much better deals on this phone but not in my prefered colour of black.

Last night, I noticed there was a pink blob down in the lower left corner of the screen, it bothered me but wasnt too bad, the rest of the screen looked normal. I went to bed, and when I woke up this morning the ENTIRE screen was pink - apart from that little blob which is now black. The colours are completely ruined, red and white is now pink and it doesnt show yellow at all, the messaging icon etc. is now a dark orange. I just bought the phone on thursday so this is a major problem for me, it's not exactly cheap.
The problem is that I'm from Norway and the Nexus isnt sold here, I bought it from a guy who had bought a lot in the US and was reselling, through our version of eBay. The box was unopened and everything, so it had not been tampered with. The problem is that they maybe won't let me return it because of this, and if I want help I'd have to ship it to the US, no help to get for it here.
Is the silver one made in silver ? or is it just the color silver ?

However, I am unable to get this device to connect to AT&T 3G. It connects to edge no problem. However, in places where my iPhone 3GS had 3G signal, this device just picks up Edge. Am I missing a step or do I have an incorrect APN setting? The back of the box does say 850/900/1800/1900MHz.
Which one do you guys own? I know I can lookup google for images, but can someone be kind enough to post images of black and brown Hero? would love to see a closer imager.. gotta check it out online as I couldnt find any Hero phones in my small city..gotta order online without even feeling the phone.. would appreciate if you guys can help me decide on the colour now!

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have the option to get a Black HTC Desire or the Brown one. Both are the same price, but the Black one is Orange branded, while the Brown is a factory unlocked version with no branding.
The Black one does look better in my opinion but is it worth it with the issues that arise when updating software (phone locked, wifi issues) when it seems to me the factory setting one will be easier to root and update?

I purchased my phone in October 2010 from Bangalore, India ... After a week of use a white line developed on the display...
I took it to the service centre who said that it was a display defect and agreed to replace the screen ... But they said that the screen was out of stock ...
After waiting almost a month i got a call from them saying replacement screens have arrived ... I immediately went and got the screen changed ... After receiving the phone back i noticed that the screen seemed kinda dull with a brown tint to it at minimum brigtness ....
When i asked the service centre guy he asked me to use the phone for a while and then it will be fine ... I used the phone for two days and took it back after reading several such tint issues on the web ...
Initially the service centre guys refused to change the screen saying that its normal. Luckily for me another customer came in with a galaxy s. I used his phone and showed the technician the brown tint issue. He then agreed to the fact that there was a brown tint and replaced the screen once again...
The new screen also has the same issue ... I had no other option but to take it and leave ...
The whole fun of buying a great phone has been ruined by the technical issues and poor customer service ....
I Really miss the old launcher, and status bar from the original Android, you know "silver" with the gradient white statusbar and white look.
Is there anyway to change my statusbar to be silver, and old silver launcher? (1.0 - 2.2) I am really sick of the new Jellybean look and want to revert back!
I think the silver version of this phone looks absolutely amazing and the black looks pretty sexy too.does anyone know if its at all possible to buy a complete silver or black body anywhere a bit like this one to replace the current sort of ugly bronze body.

View 17 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to get Froyo Kangerade 5.0.9 (PinkLife) running on my wifes newly rooted phone for about 3 hours now. I am getting major issues with this ROM. Random reboots, no wifi connection, etc. I have tried different kernels. I have wiped, wiped, wiped, and reflashed and have gotten no luck. Not really a feasible ROM for my wife. She really wants something girly (pink) and really liked the look of the Kangerade one but I just can't figure it out. So I am needing to move on to something else. Maybe CM or BB but I want to see if anyone knows of a good theme that I could use.

On the Samsung Galaxy S for example, the Tab views, the ListView highlights, Menu Items and Summary line on the Preference Screen are all blue.
There are many apps which immitate the style of the Preference Screen and I want to do the same. Obviously I cannot just hard code and set the colour to Blue, as other handsets use different colours.
The question is, is there a way to programmatically find out what colour the Preference Screen Summary Line, Tabs, or ListView selections are, so that you can then set that against a TextView elsewhere in your app?

I got a very nice tier 2 rep who said he'd put me on the list for a replacement, but I would not receive it until mid august.Yesterday, my neighbor came over with a box; said that FedEx gave it to him since I was not home to sign. It was another inc! It was just the bare phone, and in the "certified replacement" packaging.No pink hue, no sound quality issues. I'm happy. I just found it strange that these things are on heavy backorder, and I somehow got one immediately.
