HTC Desire :: On Screen - Soft - Home - Menu And Back Buttons
Jun 4, 2010Does anyone know if its possible to have on screen buttons on the Desire for Home, Menu and Back as I'm (perhaps unnecessarily) worried about wearing the buttons out so would rather be using virtual buttons on screen (even if that means losing a little of the display area).

Jun 9, 2010How can I make an app or maybe service that looks like (Nexus One touch buttons) for the navigation keys (Home, menu,Back, Search)
The buttons should always be visibly and always stay on top and send the command to the app thats running.
Someone have ideas and sample codes how to do that?
*I see an app with name (Smart Taskmanager) wich always detect when you touch the right side of the screen and then detect when you slide the finger to left.
So I think its possible, with this function I think its possible to implementate the code to simulate the (Home, Meny, Back, Search) buttons.
*I also see and test an app wich show a "cracked display" always ontop so that tecnic maybe shold be useful to always show the buttons/bitmanp on top.
Thoose function, to show the button and catch the "touch event" and send the event to the active program, thats what i dont can figure out how to do.
Sprint HTC Hero :: Creaking Sound Coming From Home And Back Buttons / Is This Normal?
Nov 28, 2009Well have had my hero for around 3 days now. I have recently noticed a creaking sound coming from the home and back buttons. It rarely makes a sound from the menu or search button. But the home and back make this sound if I push the button or if I lightly press down (halfway pushing the buttons).
Is this normal? Do you get this on your hero?
General :: Soft Buttons Taking Space On Screen
Oct 30, 2013So I ordered now LG G2 32GB (950USD in Israel, I know its expensive but well... thats what it is and I wanted a device with large screen, powerfull multi tasking and something that I wont have to replace in 1 year but at least in 2 years, super power little computer for all my internet, emails, mult tasking, office things...), I could choose Z Ultra, S4, Optimus G Pro but took G2 as most people online voted for this one and I heard them plus I liked the way this device looks from all photos I watched and I liked it's longer life per each charge versus others (from reviews i was reading).
Now something I feel bothered with, I see on youtube that this soft menu buttons stays even in games, pretty much anywhere.Removing the on-screen menu buttons possibly also not the brightest idea, how I will navigate then? Any tweak would allow me to use Android in same way I use Iphone, by turn the "power" button that short click works as "home button" and remove the soft on screen menu.

Android :: Way To Completely Eliminate Padding In A Linear Layout Containing Buttons?
Nov 6, 2010I tried the following to try to display two buttons in a horizontal linear layout, with the edges of the buttons flush with the border of the linear layout. To my surprise, I found that there is always still padding between the buttons and the left, right and bottom edges of the linear layout. Only the top edges of the buttons end up flush with the border of the linear layout. Why is that? And is there a way to control this behavior?

May 28, 2010Is it just me or is anybody else having problems with the weather disappearing from their home screen? It started after I upgraded to 2.1. Underneath the clock it just goes blank and i have to go into weather and refresh for it to come back. Then a little while later it will be blank again.

Jun 8, 2010I have it set up update hourly, and it will show it to be sunny, even until 8PM sometimes 9PM.It's not exactly sunny at that time of day, I'd more expect to see the moon by that time of evening.Is this just weird, or is it just using the "official" sunset time of 8 something and calling it sunny until then? I'm a very new Hero user.I'm within my 30 days, and very tempted to take my Hero back and get a Evo, but, don't want to spend the extra $$ for the Evo, and don't need the extra monthly expense either!

Feb 23, 2010So through a weird assortment of events i managed to crack the screen on my Eris. But this is the trippy part, I didnt break the glass but the touch sensors underneath. So now i am unable to use the menu or home buttons and the entire left part of my screen and more. I am unable to unlock my device in anyway that i know(menu button, the slider). Is there any other way to unlock it? I now have 11 unread texts and 4 voicemails that I desperately want to view. Oh and I know some of you won't be happy about what I'm about to say but.... I took the leap to the moto droid. I had the chance to get it on a 1 year because I didnt get insurance and I went for it. I will really miss my Eris but the keyboard lag was just killing me.

I was on my main Home screen and just trying to figure stuff out and when I long press the menu key it brings up the onscreen keyboard. I figured it was for contact search or something, but it did nothing when I typed...or so I thought. Now everytime I back out to the Home screen a little transparent "window" displays with letters i first typed. I cant type new letters to display or even use the backspace key to erase. Oct 11, 2010I have an HTC Hero, rooted, latest Cyanogen with LauncherPro Plus. But I don't know if it's a rooted issue so I posted here. Sometimes scrolling slows to a crawl, sometimes it takes a minute to go back to the home screen, LauncherPro crashes a lot, the lock screen takes a few seconds to unlock. Other times all of that zips through. It's maddening About 24 megs of free storage on phone. What could it be? And the phone reboots a lot on its own also.
