Jul 20, 2010I've been researching phones for my first smart phone for about 6 months.I've almost decided on the Droid X.I think I will buy it at the one year price.On line, the one year contract price is $269.99.I stopped in at my local corp. store just a few minutes ago and their price for a one year contract on a Droid X was $319.99, $50.00 more.This was just the phone, no accessories added. They told me that the $269.99 was a special on line price and I told them it was a system-wide price.Who's right and is this normal and I just didn't know it or are they trying to rip off an old man?

Idea is to scan barcodes as you shop, and then when you get hungry, have a list of recipes you can choose from that you have ingredients on hand for.When you cook the list is updated for what was used.Something that integrates w/ ShopSavvy and one of the better reciepe apps would be awesome.

Jun 20, 2010So I've rooted my Desire at last and have now got FW version 2.1-update 1 with software v 1.15.405.4 installed. Sorry in advance for the nooby Q's but the apps2sd is getting me all confused here a bit. I've also bought the premium version of ROM Manager, it has the facilty to look for the most popular roms for your particular android phone. I picked out (randomly really) the Shadowfrost 0.5 rom and it's currently (slowly) downloading! I've got a 16gb sandisk SD card that I have just copied everything over onto my PC. There's also a function in rom manager to partition the SD card that I might use too. If it allocates a 512mb Ext3 partition and the rest as fat32 for my pics music etc....will that be it?

Oct 16, 2010I was trying Barcode Scanner and Shop Savy from the market. Thought it would be a pretty cool resource to price match items when shopping whether they are on the web or locally.I have tried and tried and tried to work the Barcode scanner on the phone with no luck. Tried scanning up close.. a few inches away.. I sit there and sit there and sit there while it supposedly scans but never comes up with anything.Tried Google shop too which btw doesn't show on my app list after its installed so i have to pull it up on market to access it. Weird... But that is mainly for cd's, dvd's, books, etc. Things with some type of art or cover.

I can still hear my phone getting notifications and the LED light indicator is even blinking. It is a rooted phone but I don't think that's what caused the problem. There's no water damage and I did not drop the phone. It just happened. Is my warranty void because the phone is rooted?

Nov 21, 2009I was running my fingernail across the gold speaker cover strip on the back. I noticed in the middle that it pushes in quite a bit. It's like that part is not properly secured to the backplate.Could someone else attempt this for me. Sep 1, 2010First off let me begin by saying that I absolutely love the Epic 4G so far. The biggest difference for me coming from an EVO is the beauty of the screen. I work with several techies at my job so I asked to borrow an iPhone 4 and an EVO. I pulled the same web pages on each machine to compare image quality and DAMN! I never realized how bad the screen on the EVO was. Proves that bigger isn't always better. The major shootout was between the EPIC and the iphone. While most everyone liked the EPIC'S screen better, the consensus we all reached is that the iphone has a more realistic picture while the EPIC has the colors more saturated.Now back to my point. With this beautiful screen comes great sacrifice. The battery life on this thing (so far) is terrible! The fantastic screen eats battery like no other! As of typing this on my new phone, I have it unplugged for 33 mins with the battery at 58% with the display using 83% of the battery! I have the screen brightness at about 90% and this feels unacceptable. I've never been one to be conservative with screen brightness levels so I've never seen something drain this hard this fast. Hopefully its just a breaking in thing but current owners, please give me some feedback because I don't know if I can do a year with this issue.
