Best I can ever get is around 45% I think I have tried most of the suggestions on the board to lower it as much as I can. Is there some super secret pro-tip that you 15% people have figured out?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have rooted my hero and am currently running fresh 1.1 ROM, and I got the wireless tether for root users and its been working great until last night. I was having extremely slow speeds and was going to try disconnecting and reconnecting but as soon as I disconnected, my phone rebooted. Now, every time I go into the wireless tether for root users app, it force closes. What the Hell am I supposed to do? I need this to work.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have noticed on some threads that people were having issues with their widgets and Swype on the Cyanogen Froyo ROM. I was having this issue as well. Whenever I rebooted my phone I would have to make Swype my default keyboard again, and reinstall certain widgets. But I think I have found a solution. I noticed that Swype and some of these widgets had been stored on the SD card instead of on the phone. So I went into my settings and into application management and moved them over to the phone. That seemed to solve the issue. Give it a try and see if that fixes your problem, if you were having it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI installed fresh-cdma-hero-2.0b2. Wireless tether for remote users is not working for me. I would like to use this program. I am able to get the laptop to see and connect to the phone. But the laptop cannot ping or browse out to the internet. I have security disabled (WEP) as I read that it doesnt work. I have tried it with access control on and off to no resolution. I have tried it in Windows and in OSX without any luck. Could someone tell me what the trick is? I tried with what the Fresh image came with which I think is wireless_tether_2_0-pre7.apk and I also downloaded and tried pre8. I've searched multiple forums over the last 3 days but haven't found any solid solutions at all.

For example, in my BB Curve I could hard press the volume up button to move to the next track, and hard press the volume down to go back a track (without even looking at it or taking it out of my pocket)...
I dig the stock Hero music app the best I think out of Mixzing, Rockon, Wikitunes, or whatever - mostly because it is in the lock screen where I can advance to the next tune without having to swipe in first...
But its still a pain in the neck, when I'm on a running on a treadmill to pick up the phone and hold it up and press the correct button on the glass, as opposed to just reaching in my pocket and pressing a hardware button like I could on my BB Curve, or any other MP3 player...
The side with talk, home, and menu wiggle up and down a little bit but the other side doesnt and i was wondering if this was normal or not.

View 15 Replies View Relatednow that we have a beautiful custom battery icon (thanks again Kelmar!) I would like to try to do some more customizations. My Hero is SO close to what I like now, only need one more change to make it perfect. I'd like to figure out how to change all of the green highlighting to blue on the Hero. (Like on the ZenRom) Things like: when you press a button (say the call button, as an example) or icon or widget, and things like the progress bar in the browser... also things like the unread mail indicator, and the rating stars in the market...etc. Kelmar and I have been reading on XDA, and have tried many things, and we are getting nowhere. Everything seems to lead to a very long tedious process. It would seem to us that some of this might be able to be easily changed in one file, to make the change throughout the rom, but we could be wrong. We wonder if anyone here could help out with how to do this.

Is there a way or an app that shuts off the lights to the hardbuttons/trackball?
This is especially necessary in the day time when i can see the buttons, i don't need them illuminated.
When I owned a palm, there was a program call KBlights... shut of the keyboard, hardbutton lights.
Back in the day when I used my compaq ipaq, I could change the function of the buttons on the face plate. Does anyone know if that is possible with the Hero or any other android phones?

Well have had my hero for around 3 days now. I have recently noticed a creaking sound coming from the home and back buttons. It rarely makes a sound from the menu or search button. But the home and back make this sound if I push the button or if I lightly press down (halfway pushing the buttons).
Is this normal? Do you get this on your hero?
My daughter gave up on the Hero because her cheek kept disconnecting on the touchpad
My Droid screen goes blank while I'm talking and can't be accidentally disconnected til it goes horizontal. Is the Hero different?
