I was playing with the phone a couple days ago and came across a setting that let me decide what the power/end call button would do when pushed, IE: go to sleep, go home then go to sleep, nothing. I left it at the default and now I want to change it.

Oct 29, 2009Just talking on the hero when another call beeped in, screen came up showing who was calling. I hit the Decline button which is supposed to send the call directly to VM, but it only made the screen go away. I kept getting the beep notification that another call was trying to get through and then the choppy dial tone hang up signal after the call eventually made it to VM.

Aug 21, 2009I have been looking at the Samsung Galaxy but as 02 keep pushing back the release date i have given up on it and decided to go with the Hero.
I have found that Car phone warehouse and mobile phones direct have much better deals on this phone but not in my prefered colour of black.

HTC Hero :: Keep Dialing People By Accident / Disable Call Button?
Nov 29, 2009I've had the Hero about a week now, and keep finding that whenever I'm in the dialler app, I press the big green 'Call' button by mistake.I don't like that the fact that it's highlighted as soon as you enter the app via 'Phone' on the homescreen, and it looks like it defaults to the last caller.Is there anyway to change this? Ideally I don't want it to be highlighted until I've selected a contact to call.

Nov 30, 2009I just got a Hero the other day, and so for I love it. The only thing I am having a problem with is the button pad. It is creaky, like if I press the menu button, and then press a button the the opposite side, say the back button, it creaks a tiny bit, like plastic on plastic. Sometimes it even clicks a little bit. Anyone elses like this? It doesnt really affect the operation as much as its an annoyance.

Sprint HTC Hero : Advanced Task Manager End All Button
Oct 23, 2009If you use the "End All Background Tasks" button (the widget for this app I believe), it ends the weather functionality on the standard clock/weather widget. The weather does not appear to restart without trashing the clock widget and then replacing it. That basically renders the Kill All Background tasks functionality useless does it not? I'm wondering if it's like this for all background task killing apps as well.

Jul 30, 2010My phone keeps turning on in my pocket and dialing numbers without me knowing. I tried the lock screen and ended up locking my phone out due to too many tries in my pocket and ending up having to reset my phone to use again.
