Was having problem with texting.. (see my other thread)
Went back to Fresh 2.3.3
I am now trying Cynogens again... Wiped everything, re-flashed.
Weirdness is now happening. Many of the apps that I previously downloaded are now on the Cynogen rom (and shouldn't be). I go into Market and it shows that I am downloading things and when I cancel it FC's the Market. How do I completely erase everything and start over?
If is there a ways to remove/delete words you might have added by accident from the auto-correction feature?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using the stock texting option and have a group set up. This weekend I sent out a group text and several of them went to the email addresses. I think this is because the ?primary? contact is the phone then the email address. Before the update all texts would go to the proper number so the people would get the texts. Does anybody know how to change the ?primary? contact? I hate to think this is just another thing that 2.1 added (or took away) to make this phone??.well less that I expect at this point.

I've looked through the Locale Text settings and found a few English settings, but they were all for Poland or Czech or wherever, no US. View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know how to change the sound that gets played when a Facebook update arrives in the Android notification dock? In Menu -> Settings -> Sound and Display -> Notification Sound the option is set to "subtle" which I really like. I have the volume for notifications set to be relatively low, so if I'm sleeping it doesn't wake me up because it's so low and it's such a short tone.
Last night however, I got some spam friend request on Facebook. Unfortunately it was like 1am and I woke up to hear some Spanish style/flamenco type music playing. After a few seconds I found out that it was my phone, and the Facebook app was notifying me of a new friend request.
Does anyone know how to change this sound? I don't see any option in the Sound and Display menu, and I also tried going into the Accounts & sync menu but I don't see anything in there either except whether or not the phone syncs with Facebook and how often. There is no setting for notification sound.
This is really odd -- it seems like a new friend request is the only Facebook notification that even arrives in the notification bar...maybe other stuff arrives too but I just haven't received them yet? In any case, there must be an option somewhere to change or disable this music.
Anyone else experienced what I'm talking about? Do you know how to change it? I really don't want to wake up even more during the night than I already do. My son already keeps me up enough at night...
While texting on the full keyboard, why did they force us to use the exit keyboard(lower left) icon instead of oh say making that one the SEND icon and once pressed have it auto kick you back to the main text screen or put a send icon somewhere along the text screen itself like they did with shorter keyboard? I still don't see how this was overlooked.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm just wondering what people find to be the quickest way to send texts from the Hero. I've actually noticed that I'm avoiding sending them unless absolutely necessary, because the process just seems so much more drawn out than on any other phone.
At the moment, I'm going via 'people', clicking on the person's name then going to 'SMS' that's already 3 clicks. I guess that's not so bad, but I'm used to doing all this with one button, so it seems like a lot of faff. Is there a better way to do it?
Also, how the heck do you add contacts to your 'favourite people' list? I can't figure this out at all.
At first my Hero was lagging a bit on turning caps off when texting so my first two letters would always be caps. but now i have to manually turn it off every time or the whole message will be in caps. it NEVER turns off automatically.I'm using the phone keypad setting BTW. when i turn it sideways the keypad doesn't have capitalization problems but sometimes it doesn't show what I'm typing and i have to get outta the keyboard to see it. besides those two problems my phone is fine. i can accept the not being able to see the message as I'm typing as lagging but the auto-caps has to be a setting right?

As you can probably tell by now, I'm not writing in Spanish - so, that's not how it's supposed to be Nothing else in my phone does this.

View 7 Replies View Relatedafter installing 2.2 on my hero, everything was working fine, until now. im having problems with my text messages, they wont send under sprints network, if i put it in roaming then they send right away, but roaming has awefully slow (1x) network speeds, but if i put it back to the 3g network speeds of sprint then everytime i try to send a text it just swirls in circles (the little thing next to the message) and wont send. is this sprints network being down? or does this have to do with the 2.2 update?i dont think its sprint because my mom and sister arent having any problems with there phones from the same plan. but i tryed restarting many times, taking out and leaving out the battery, putting it in airplane mode and turning that back off to reset connection, iv tryed everything and cant get it to work, so idk what to do, and i dont understand why if it was a software problem with the 2.2 installation, why would they send in roaming but not on sprints network?

If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings.If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. Should I start to re-boot every day?

View 1 Replies View Relatediv heard ppl who downloaded android 2.2 online and installed it themselves on there phone since its not being offered ota. but im wondering if its safe? the phone is not actually getting 2.2 ever, so doing this would be my own choice. but im wondering if it will run smoothly, better than 2.1 update 1, and if there will be any problems or if anything that may not work because of compatability problems with the phone. because some people have said that 2.2 isnt being released to the hero because the phone is not physically capeable of it do to software and hardware (such as space ram speeds etc.), and others have said they installed it themselves and it works fine, that its actually made to run using less space then 2.1 making it better.
