Sprint HTC Hero :: Resetting Phone - Texting

Quick setup: Was running Fresh 2.3.3, wiped and flashed Cynogen 6.0 froyo
Was having problem with texting.. (see my other thread)
Went back to Fresh 2.3.3
I am now trying Cynogens again... Wiped everything, re-flashed.
Weirdness is now happening. Many of the apps that I previously downloaded are now on the Cynogen rom (and shouldn't be). I go into Market and it shows that I am downloading things and when I cancel it FC's the Market. How do I completely erase everything and start over?

I havent received ANY texts for the past two days. I've uninstalled the latest apps I've installed (Task Killer & Texas Hold Em). I didnt have many installed to begin with and still had 86mb free before uninstalling them. i've restarted and pulled the battery over and over. still nothing. my phone is rooted with Fresh 1.1 and I have the Gumbo kernel. NOW... i'm thinking about trying a hard reset to try and fix this SMS issue. can i backup my phone to where i dont have to do the manual rooting all over again? that kitchen didnt work for me and i really dont feel like running thru all that code again. what all does a backup actually back up?

Is there a way to reset the predictive text without hard resetting the phone? I guess I saved some words to my predictive text that I don't want anymore.

I have a question, How do I reset my lock screen? I ask as I am root'd and rom'd and my Rom allows the Lock screen to be transparent. But I can't figure how to remove the picture I've already assigned.

Somebody please tell that im just having a bad dream. Am I the only one who can't talk and text at the same time. Every time I try i they don't send. Is it a settings issue or can the phone just not do it. If it can't i'm blown.

Except, of course, for one small detail.I'm bilingual,and a lover of Latina women (more info than you needed to know, I know!), so I am constantly switching back and forth between sending texts in English and in Spanish.Is there a way for my phone to recognize words in both English and Spanish?As it stands now, I'm having a hell of a time sending Spanish texts because it keeps suggesting words in English.

I am using the stock texting option and have a group set up. This weekend I sent out a group text and several of them went to the email addresses. I think this is because the ?primary? contact is the phone then the email address. Before the update all texts would go to the proper number so the people would get the texts. Does anybody know how to change the ?primary? contact? I hate to think this is just another thing that 2.1 added (or took away) to make this phone??.well less that I expect at this point.

I have read a couple of threads that touched on this ring issue, but was unable to find any that had a solution or work around.Since the 2.1 update and the OTA update, many times when an incoming call comes, the phone doesn't ring. If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings.If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. Should I start to re-boot every day?

I had the same problem with my hero, bought the replacement off of ebay, followed these instructions..and wasn't too complicated. The only tome I had any frustrations was getting the clips unhooked also removing the cracked piece from the super strong adhesive. I'm moving over to Sprint.I'd rather not pay the $10 4G fee (or whatever you want to call that $10 fee), so I'll probably stick with a 3G phone.Is the Hero the best option? What I really need the phone to be able to do is voice calling, text, email, web browsing, etc. I'm not a power user, so I don't think I'd use the full power of the Evo anyway, so that's another reason to stick with the Hero.And if I understand correctly, I'd be eligible for upgrade pricing after 1yr with Sprint.

I rooted quite awhile back; I think it is Fresh 1.1.It worked fine.This morning it started spontaneously rebooting and is saying com.google.process.gapps. has stopped and all apps have forced close. At that point nothing works.I do have a Sprint contract to fix it but it has been rooted so I don't know what to do.

This started this morning. My phone randomly started resetting. At first I thought this was an issue with it coincidently soft rebooting while in my pants pocket. However I've had it sitting on my desk and it's randomly reset twice now with in a span of about 2o minutes.

I switched to Sprint yesterday from ATT and bought a Hero along with my dad. They activated the phones for us and than told us that it should only be 30 minutes before our phones were on but could take up to 24 hours. its been about 15-16 hours and was wondering if it takes everyone this long?

iv recently rooted my phone and installed rom manager as well as titanium backup. I backed up my phone through titanium backup then downloaded cyanogenmod and installed it through rom manager. i cleared my cashe and backed up in rom manager. my phone now just boots up to the droid screen then resets. its like a endless cycle lol. is there any way to get my phone back in working order or is it bricked?

I've been having for the past couple of days issues with my phone resetting itself. I have a rooted Dinc with the Hydra OV 1.15ghz kernel install. I was wondering if anybody else was having the same or a similar issue? Maybe it's with the kernel or maybe it's with a program I have installed but I'd like to try and narrow it down before I do anything.

Fascinate is factory resetting itself at random times, seems to be occurring only when corporate outlook account is added to the phone. started happening last night, the phone reboot itself and reformatted the drives, so upon reboot everything was erased. I re setup the phone and it did it again like an hour later. I re setup the phone a second time, only I did not add the work outlook email and it went all day long today without resetting. I'm worried if I add the work email account the phone will reset again. BTW the work email account was on the phone before with zero issues.

So I've been doing some thing to save battery life, one of which is to turn the brightness all of the way down. However, it seems like it won't stay all of the way down. I haven't confirmed this but it appears to turn itself back up after being plugged in to a charger. Any ideas?

So I have an galaxy s vibrant. Now its rooted and has a jelly bean custom rom. Now I'm getting a new phone and I want to factory reset my phone, meaning i want all my apps, contact infomation and anything stored in my phone storage to be wiped but I want to keep the custom rom (Jelly bean ) and root permissions still. Is this possible? What would happen if i just factory reset my phone ,deleting everything on my phone , and wanted it like i got it out of the box?

My Desire V started reseting itself for no apparent reason that I can think of. Uninstalled the few apps I installed for the last few weeks. The crash logs show this in the bottom (and other I/O Errors all over the log file as well):

Restarting Linux version bla bla bla
msm_pm_restart : Do HW_RESET By APP not by RADIO
No Errors detected
(mmcblk0 is the internal memory card)

While texting on the full keyboard, why did they force us to use the exit keyboard(lower left) icon instead of oh say making that one the SEND icon and once pressed have it auto kick you back to the main text screen or put a send icon somewhere along the text screen itself like they did with shorter keyboard? I still don't see how this was overlooked.
