Jan 26, 2013I have an x21 running icecream sandwich. I have had a problem with texting from my contact list. Will not do it for some of my contacts. I was able to fix once but have not been able to this time.

Mar 13, 2012when I send a text to a contact, I type the name in the search and choose the contact. For some contacts that works great. For some, when I select them it sends an email and not a text. I have verified for those contacts that the phone number is set as default - is there something else i can do other than create 1 contact for phone and another for email?
Am using the default text and contacts apps

Aug 19, 2010When I compose a new txt message I type the name of the person im txt'ing and its supposed to auto-populate the name based on the first few letters I type. But it doesn't always. I have to go to contacts pick the person I want to txt and do it that way. What am I doing wrong.

Dec 12, 2009While texting on the full keyboard, why did they force us to use the exit keyboard(lower left) icon instead of oh say making that one the SEND icon and once pressed have it auto kick you back to the main text screen or put a send icon somewhere along the text screen itself like they did with shorter keyboard? I still don't see how this was overlooked.

Dec 7, 2009I'm just wondering what people find to be the quickest way to send texts from the Hero. I've actually noticed that I'm avoiding sending them unless absolutely necessary, because the process just seems so much more drawn out than on any other phone.
At the moment, I'm going via 'people', clicking on the person's name then going to 'SMS' that's already 3 clicks. I guess that's not so bad, but I'm used to doing all this with one button, so it seems like a lot of faff. Is there a better way to do it?
Also, how the heck do you add contacts to your 'favourite people' list? I can't figure this out at all.
HTC Hero :: Turning On Caps While Texting
Aug 30, 2010At first my Hero was lagging a bit on turning caps off when texting so my first two letters would always be caps. but now i have to manually turn it off every time or the whole message will be in caps. it NEVER turns off automatically.I'm using the phone keypad setting BTW. when i turn it sideways the keypad doesn't have capitalization problems but sometimes it doesn't show what I'm typing and i have to get outta the keyboard to see it. besides those two problems my phone is fine. i can accept the not being able to see the message as I'm typing as lagging but the auto-caps has to be a setting right?

Aug 19, 2010Quick setup: Was running Fresh 2.3.3, wiped and flashed Cynogen 6.0 froyo
Was having problem with texting.. (see my other thread)
Went back to Fresh 2.3.3
I am now trying Cynogens again... Wiped everything, re-flashed.
Weirdness is now happening. Many of the apps that I previously downloaded are now on the Cynogen rom (and shouldn't be). I go into Market and it shows that I am downloading things and when I cancel it FC's the Market. How do I completely erase everything and start over?

Jun 14, 2010I am using the stock texting option and have a group set up. This weekend I sent out a group text and several of them went to the email addresses. I think this is because the ?primary? contact is the phone then the email address. Before the update all texts would go to the proper number so the people would get the texts. Does anybody know how to change the ?primary? contact? I hate to think this is just another thing that 2.1 added (or took away) to make this phone??.well less that I expect at this point.

Apr 27, 2010I have had my Hero for about 4 months now, and up until this week everything has been fine.I noticed at the beginning of this week that the People App has started to show my contacts in duplicate. This is happening to every contact. I don't have any actual duplicates saved in my contact list, it's just listing them twice in the app.I have checked and double checked that I don't have contacts listed as both Google and Phone, all my contacts are Google.I have checked on a desktop browser in my Google contacts and I don't have any duplicates saved.To note: This is only happening in the People App, there are no duplicates when I go to the "Phone" menu, and there are no duplicates when I use the People Widget or Live Folder Widget.It's a minor problem, but one that I hope somebody can help me with.

Jan 27, 2010It's been asked before but never answered as far as I can see. want to send Contact A's phone number (and only the phone number, not the whole contact) to Contact B by SMS. If I go into People and press menu-> more->Send Contact, the hero attached a Vcard to an MMS. Which I don't want. Just the number. What's more, Vcard sending doesn't even work when sending to another Hero let alone to another type of phone.
Any tips? Handcent doesn't appear to do this either.

Feb 11, 2010I'm on my 2nd Hero at the moment but m having a problem with my contact pictures. On my 1st Hero with Orange they were perfectly clear however I now have 1 with T-mobile and the contact pictures are very blurry, almost unrecognisable. Anyone know why this would happen and how to fix it? It is the exact same pics from the same memory card that I used on the 1st phone, I just swapped it over to the new 1 when it arrived I should add that when I say contact pics, its only when m calling some1 and their face fills the screen that this happens
