Sprint HTC Hero :: No Cell Service With CM6?
Nov 13, 2010So I flashed CM6 tonight and everything seemed to go fine.However, I have NO SERVICE at all with it. I did revert back to previous stock ROM and had service just fine.Reinstalled CM6 thinking maybe that would fix it - no go.If it is not one thing, it is another anytime I try to install a new ROM.

I see the icon in the notifications bar but Google maps is saying i have to turn on the actual gps. if that is the case what is the setting to allow network to determine location for. I did some searching with mixed responses some people say cell triangulation works on sprint and some say it doesn't. and some say it just the newer version of google maps that it doesnt work with.. Im hoping its just the towers near my home. I will double check when im in a different location. anyone have it working with Google maps?***Update***** had the wrong setting ticked i figured it out a few minutes after i posted this. next time ill spend at least an hour before posting a useless new thread.

May 14, 2010I downloaded the sync from the sprint site (the current one they now have up) thinking I might need it for when 2.1 comes out (whenever that is now) I started the installing of it then I got some kind of warning saying that something wasn't compatible and it could ruin either my comp or something. Some time ago, I was told that since I wanted to keep my plan, I could add unlimited data for an additional $30/month and keep the plan. However, about a month ago, I emailed customer service wanting to do this with the Android phone. They told me can't do this with the Android phone, you'll have to switch to data plan (essentially losing my plan).
So, here's what I did: My dad got me an Android on his "Family Plan" along with my step-mom and step-sister. To add me onto his plan is just an additional $20 per month. So, this made the most economical sense (since I wasn't about to give up my old phone and plan).

Nov 23, 2009So I rooted my phone, did a nanodroid back-up, and added a custom Rom. At first I flashed MoCaDo onto the phone but I had a lot of force closes. So I flashed Fresh .5 over MocaDo 1.1 and the force closes stop. The phone feels a lot zipper. I have WiFi tether. Spare parts is great. Now how do I move apps to the sd card to free up more space?

Apr 15, 2010I know how to remove widgets... you long press on them to move them/delete them. My problem is this: I don't know how to remove regular icons on the Hero. On the Moment, everything was simply long press to remove. On this, long pressing the application icons on my home screen(s) just opens the associated programs. I kind of wanted to move them around, I don't wanna have to delete a scene everytime I want to move one icon around.

Most comments I have heard about Sprint have been either average or negative.On the contrary, my time with Verizon has really been stellar, few if any dropped calls, coverage EVERYWHERE it seems, and pretty decent customer service.Even though Sprints plans are $30 to $40 cheaper than Verizon, it won't matter if the service stinks and I can't make/receive calls or get on broadband.Just trying to weigh my options as the Incredible will be out as well, and may have to go with that one instead.

Sep 16, 2010after installing 2.2 on my hero, everything was working fine, until now. im having problems with my text messages, they wont send under sprints network, if i put it in roaming then they send right away, but roaming has awefully slow (1x) network speeds, but if i put it back to the 3g network speeds of sprint then everytime i try to send a text it just swirls in circles (the little thing next to the message) and wont send. is this sprints network being down? or does this have to do with the 2.2 update?i dont think its sprint because my mom and sister arent having any problems with there phones from the same plan. but i tryed restarting many times, taking out and leaving out the battery, putting it in airplane mode and turning that back off to reset connection, iv tryed everything and cant get it to work, so idk what to do, and i dont understand why if it was a software problem with the 2.2 installation, why would they send in roaming but not on sprints network?
