May 3, 2010I have recently gone up from Fresh 1.1 to Fresh 2.0d. Everything is working great, but for some reason Exchange items are not showing up in the calendar. The exchange calendar is selected in the calendar selection option. Items added to the phone calendar as exchange items are synced to my Outlook/Exchange calendar, so there is some communication going on. However, my calendar stubbornly refuses to display the Exchange items.
Anyone know why this might be? I can't figure it out...
Sprint HTC Hero :: Prevent Phone From Syncing New Calendar Events?
Dec 1, 2009When I sync my Sprint HTC Hero with Windows Vista (using HTC Sync version 2.0.8), I get the following error message: "The application com.android.providers.calendar (process com.htc.calendar) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." I also get this message occasionally when I'm not syncing. It doesn't seem to prevent my Hero from syncing new calendar events, but the error message is annoying. Anyone have an idea why I'm getting it and what I can do about it?

Jun 28, 2010Why does the text entry always ask me to confirm the last word of a sentence that ends with something other than a period? It's kind of annoying (using Handcent) to have to press on the spellchecked word before moving on or sending a text message. Sometimes I can just hit send, and sometimes it just blinks at me until I confirm that, yes, I did want to end my message or sentence with "Why?" or whatever happens to be at the end.
Annoying. Anything I can do to get rid of this?

On my end, it will show compressing the pic, the recipient never receives. (No I am not connecting via wifi.)

HTC Hero : US Holidays Calendar Not Syncing / How To Fix?
Dec 2, 2009We have several users here in our office with the HTC Hero using the Google Apps Premiere system (myself included). I have subscribed to the US Holidays calendar on my Google Apps Calendar. It syncs to my phone with no problem. We have another user who is not so lucky. If I go to my calendar menu on the Hero I see where I can check/uncheck the US Holiday calendar. On the other user's phone, he does not have a US Holidays calendar that he can check/uncheck. I've seen similar posts that regard Sports calendars but have not found a solution for the US Holidays calendar.

I managed to get everything set up how I want it but have a problem syncing the phones calendar with my MS Outlook 2007 calendar. Some of my seem to be missing on the Hero or in the wrong date to the Outlook calendar. The same happend with the contacts, but that fixed after snycing again. However, the calendar is still messed up!

Dec 20, 2009I downloaded a movie via a torrent then converted it to MP4 format via Videora. The transfer from my computer to the HTC Hero looked good. However, when i go to "music" on my phone, I don't see the movie there. I only see audio files. Is there something I'm doing wrong? As a side note, when i check the properties of this video on my PC, it says Opens with: "Unknown Application." Could this be the problem?

Apr 12, 2010I synced all my gmail contacts to my phone but now when I go into gmail and check my contacts I have 1 that keeps showing up multiple times. Last time I looked he had over 50 entries. I deleted all but 1 and an hour later he's back another 25 times. I just put the 2.1 leak on my phone yesterday. Maybe that's the problem? Strange that it's only the 1 contact though.

Dec 1, 2009I have had the Hero since October 9 and never had a problem syncing my AOL email with my Hero. I have had it set to sync every 15 minutes and all worked well. About a week ago I started noticing issues with not getting my messages consistently and I started seeing a message below the emails saying "Get More Messages ____ messages total on server" (I don't recall seeing this message before). If the number of messages on the server is greater than what I have on my phone, I can manually sync and they will down load. Sometimes my messages will sync, but not consistently. As I type this I see that I was showing 9 messages and the server had 11 so I manually synced and two more messages downloaded to the phone but they were from over an hour ago. I have tried deleting the account and re-setting it up but that doesn't seem to correct the issue.
(BTW, my exchange messages still sync fine).

Jan 14, 2010Is anyone having problems with Gmail syncing? I am using the Gmail app and started this afternoon I am not getting push email anymore. If I open the app and select Menu --> Refresh, the new messages pop in there. I did a soft reset and made sure Gmail was set to sync automatically.

Aug 10, 2010I have two gmail accounts. My primary works find on my DX. I have shared my second calendar with my primary and my appointments for both show up fine online, and in my DX calendar list, it says my second calendar is on there, but nothing is showing up. I've tried adding new appointments both on device and computer, but they don't sync for that calendar.
Am I missing something? Or does anyone know of a calendar app that will sync with a second gmail calendar?

Nov 28, 2009I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out what information is stored how between google and my phone, particulalry with respect to my (postal) addresses. I noticed that if I add an address to a contact it shows up fine on my phone, but not in my gmail account (even after waiting several hours and manually syncing the phone). However, if I add an address in my gmail account it shows up in both gmail and my contacts on my phone. Furthermore, when I use google maps on my phone and hit "directions" I can start entering the name of my contact and it will pop up in the list for me to choose if I had entered it via gmail or the phone. But if I instead hit the little bookmark icon next to the box for the address and hit the contacts options, it gives me a list of contacts that have addresses, but only contacts for whom those addresses had been entered on my phone.I should also note that all my contacts are stored as google contacts and not phone contacts. But it does seem as if addresses are somehow being stored as phone only when I add them via the phone, and that this is somewhat intentional since choosing contacts in google maps lists only those phone-entered contacts. Does anyone understand what's going on here?

I know I can easily drag-n-drop files onto my Hero's SD card, and also use programs like MediaMonkey or Windows Media Player to sync music, but I can't seem to sync playlists. I have to manually create playlists on the Hero music app on the phone, and that is a pain.

May 27, 2010Noticed yesterday that I wasn't getting any new Gmail. After about 12 hours of no syncs I went in and played with settings, turning the sync on-and-off, and it finally synced again.
Well, now it has gone 13 hours without a sync according to the settings, and nothing I do seems to make it want to sync.
Anyone have any suggestions? I am running 2.1, and sync has worked since the upgrade for at least a few days. I have installed no new apps, I did delete one (Engadget reader, so nothing important)

Sep 7, 2010I have recently rooted my phone as well as flashed the Cyanogen v6 ROM (FroYo). The only issue I am having is with syncing but not in the usual sense. In everything but the contacts app I can see my google contacts (chompSMSu is an example). I can successfully go into my Gmail and basically anything else Google related. It's only the actual contact list that isn't showing up, even though syncing elsewhere is possible.
I have checked the syncing options, did a factory reset, flashed to a different rom (and come back again) and it still isn't working.

Nov 7, 2009Is there a calendar app that is better than the HTC calendar? I've read that the HTC one is pretty bad. I only use google calendar right now so something that would sync with that would be perfect. I really want something that has a week view also.
