I downloaded a movie via a torrent then converted it to MP4 format via Videora. The transfer from my computer to the HTC Hero looked good. However, when i go to "music" on my phone, I don't see the movie there. I only see audio files. Is there something I'm doing wrong? As a side note, when i check the properties of this video on my PC, it says Opens with: "Unknown Application." Could this be the problem?

I synced all my gmail contacts to my phone but now when I go into gmail and check my contacts I have 1 that keeps showing up multiple times. Last time I looked he had over 50 entries. I deleted all but 1 and an hour later he's back another 25 times. I just put the 2.1 leak on my phone yesterday. Maybe that's the problem? Strange that it's only the 1 contact though.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been unable to actually sync my HERO to my computer I've got the HTC Sync software installed, and when I plug in the usb cable from the computer, to the phone. The only selection that comes up is to mount/unmount the SD Card. Not to sync.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had the Hero since October 9 and never had a problem syncing my AOL email with my Hero. I have had it set to sync every 15 minutes and all worked well. About a week ago I started noticing issues with not getting my messages consistently and I started seeing a message below the emails saying "Get More Messages ____ messages total on server" (I don't recall seeing this message before). If the number of messages on the server is greater than what I have on my phone, I can manually sync and they will down load. Sometimes my messages will sync, but not consistently. As I type this I see that I was showing 9 messages and the server had 11 so I manually synced and two more messages downloaded to the phone but they were from over an hour ago. I have tried deleting the account and re-setting it up but that doesn't seem to correct the issue.
(BTW, my exchange messages still sync fine).
Is anyone having problems with Gmail syncing? I am using the Gmail app and started this afternoon I am not getting push email anymore. If I open the app and select Menu --> Refresh, the new messages pop in there. I did a soft reset and made sure Gmail was set to sync automatically.

When I do the email thing that facebook offers, it replies that they do not support that kind of file, and if I try to upload them or send them as messages, it tell me that files are too large. I used to have a Touch pro and I was able to upload and send video files to others.

Is there an app available or a way that you can do this? Bit of a pain to have to pull from the card on my computer and upload on my PC to FB. I have Qik (app) but dont want / shouldnt have to use it everytime I want to share a basic video.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having a bit of trouble figuring out what information is stored how between google and my phone, particulalry with respect to my (postal) addresses. I noticed that if I add an address to a contact it shows up fine on my phone, but not in my gmail account (even after waiting several hours and manually syncing the phone). However, if I add an address in my gmail account it shows up in both gmail and my contacts on my phone. Furthermore, when I use google maps on my phone and hit "directions" I can start entering the name of my contact and it will pop up in the list for me to choose if I had entered it via gmail or the phone. But if I instead hit the little bookmark icon next to the box for the address and hit the contacts options, it gives me a list of contacts that have addresses, but only contacts for whom those addresses had been entered on my phone.I should also note that all my contacts are stored as google contacts and not phone contacts. But it does seem as if addresses are somehow being stored as phone only when I add them via the phone, and that this is somewhat intentional since choosing contacts in google maps lists only those phone-entered contacts. Does anyone understand what's going on here?

I know I can easily drag-n-drop files onto my Hero's SD card, and also use programs like MediaMonkey or Windows Media Player to sync music, but I can't seem to sync playlists. I have to manually create playlists on the Hero music app on the phone, and that is a pain.

View 3 Replies View RelatedNoticed yesterday that I wasn't getting any new Gmail. After about 12 hours of no syncs I went in and played with settings, turning the sync on-and-off, and it finally synced again.
Well, now it has gone 13 hours without a sync according to the settings, and nothing I do seems to make it want to sync.
Anyone have any suggestions? I am running 2.1, and sync has worked since the upgrade for at least a few days. I have installed no new apps, I did delete one (Engadget reader, so nothing important)

I noticed that the Hero lacks the option to share a video recorded via the phone to Facebook (an option I liked on the Instinct).Does anyone know of a good app that allows this? Is this an option they are going to add in the future? I just started using the app for 'Qik', however this is primarily to stream live video from your phone to your Qik channel. It does post a link on FB for others to see the video, even if no longer streaming live, but the videos you record when using the app do not stay native to the phone (cannot view / locate videos in your albums) and you have to go to your channel to view them.Curious if anyone knew of an app that allows you to choose a video from albums and share on social media sites (specifically FB).

I'm at my local Sprint store fondling the new EVO and contemplating when I get an upgrade and maybe I should get one or should I wait or.Anyway, the phone was fully functional and on 3G, so I thought I would check out YouTube. I brought it up and searched out a video I had watched before and cued it up. When it played, and for whatever reason, it had super resolution and looked great, but it would not play more than a few seconds without stopping then starting, stopping and starting again, etc. I thought this was pretty weird, so holding the EVO in my other hand, I pulled out my Hero and cued up the same exact YouTube video. When the vid played on the Hero the video guality and resolution were not as good as the EVO's, but it played perfectly and seamlessly all the way through, no starting and stopping at all.

If I match pictures to contacts on my phone will it sync with my web mail contacts, or will it work if I sync my google contacts on my web mail, then sync to my phone. View 21 Replies View RelatedI have recently rooted my phone as well as flashed the Cyanogen v6 ROM (FroYo). The only issue I am having is with syncing but not in the usual sense. In everything but the contacts app I can see my google contacts (chompSMSu is an example). I can successfully go into my Gmail and basically anything else Google related. It's only the actual contact list that isn't showing up, even though syncing elsewhere is possible.
I have checked the syncing options, did a factory reset, flashed to a different rom (and come back again) and it still isn't working.
I have recently gone up from Fresh 1.1 to Fresh 2.0d. Everything is working great, but for some reason Exchange items are not showing up in the calendar. The exchange calendar is selected in the calendar selection option. Items added to the phone calendar as exchange items are synced to my Outlook/Exchange calendar, so there is some communication going on. However, my calendar stubbornly refuses to display the Exchange items.
Anyone know why this might be? I can't figure it out...
I have videos on my phone that are in parts and they don't show up in order. I tried putting numbers in front of their file name to no avail. Is there any way to organize the videos so they show up in your folders on the phone in a way that you see fit.

If they are not stored locally, is there an app that does this? I have SMS Backup, but i want the MMS files to be local on my SD card and in an album as all other pics/vids.
